Job's Legendary Rule set

Noob questions coming....Do you need to use both files? Can I just use the legendary file? If not, where does the Job Loot Rules folder go?

answer

Ahh I don't understand!:
"I don't know how to make these work in Trinity and I can't search the forums!" No worries, you and about 90% of internet users seem to have this problem. Rather than write up yet another guide on how to get these to actually work in trinity, go on over to tmxkn1's post here and read the instructions there. If you are keen on using some item rules for non legendary stuff his are decent.

If you want to make changes to rules, read about how itemrules works here.

If you just put the legendary.dis file in a folder by itself, trinity will create the other necessary files and just leave them blank.

Thank you Job2k9, appreciate it. I did read the instructions, but I didn't find the mentioning of the Job Loot Rules folder.

Because they just plain don't work.
[QUALITY] == "Legendary" && [NAME] == "Rondal's Locket" # [FIREDMG%] > 0 -> [KEEP]

My Rhonda's has 17% fire dmg, yet i get:

[Trinity] Rondal's Locket [Amulet_norm_unique_07-171] [Amulet] = (TRASH)

Conclusion: FIREDMG% isn't reading fire damage, I didn't bother testing the other elements because if one doesn't work I can't write rules covering them all equally.

mby it will help

[11:57:53] Quadro.tony: as far as i know, %elemental dmg not readable from game memory by DB, and we cant use it in loot rulers, right?
[11:58:28] Nesox: If you press Alt+9 does it show it?
[11:58:33] Nesox: to dump stats
[11:59:46] Nesox: or maybe it's Alt+8
[11:59:48] Nesox: can't remember
[12:00:01] Nesox: Should be DamagePercentBonusVsElites

Nice, that alt8 trick is handy, and it looks like it doesn't read the bonus dmg.

Item [Talisman of Aranoch] Stats: Quality - Legendary

Amulet has 16% poison dmg. DB doesn't read. There's the problem. Looks like devs need to have DB read that stat, hopefully something they can patch in? I'm getting swamped with bad ammies because I can only filter for 2 stats rather than 3, makes a massive difference in what gets through. If they do fix this I'll have much tighter rules for ammies and bracers.

Possibly stupid question, but I didn't see any clarification. Currently on the first post there are two files - Job Loot Rules 4 and Legendary 3. Is the Legendary 3 just an older version of the .dis file and therefore optional? Or am I supposed to used both? Im pretty sure its just the folder for Job Loot Rules 4 that I need to navigate to in DB, just making sure. Looking forward to trying this out now that my WD is over 1mil DPS

Just use rules 4. I'll remove 3 as it's just the single file and a bit oudated. I can understand the confusion where they are both a bit different.

I followed the instructions that were linked, but I think that the "recommended" Trinity setting to keep legendaries unidentified in case the rules don't work is taking precedence. After letting the bot run I found several unidentified legendaries in my stash, including crummy ones like Kill. I am a bit hesitant to uncheck the box because I don't want DB to just salvage everything. Any advice?

Also, just to double check. This will not salvage Zunimmassa's set right? I saw that you said it won't salvage set pieces, but did not see the name of any of the items in the Keep or Evaluate sections on the first page. Been playing a long time and have yet to see a single piece.

Thanks!

You would need to ID the legendaries, otherwise there is no way to evaluate them. The rules will keep ALL sets except blackthorns and the two crappy ring/ammy sets (check the latest notes, I set them to be trashed just recently).

If you are worried about the rules working you should either look at the actual legendary.dis file or not use them. I personally have had no problems, other than still getting too much trash due DB not reading +element damage types (so far). I'm hoping they can address that in DB so I can cut down on the ammy trash.

EDIT: I'll put a quick note in the KEEP section about set items so it's more clear.

are u sure about the bracer macro?
say i have "vit, crit, AR, and ele%", re-rolling AR into str would make it a perfectly good bracer, yet ur macro yields a value of only 1, thus trashing it.

i was thinking changing the MAXSTAT to MAXSTATVIT, what u think?

or maybe @GOODBRACER := [MAXSTAT].dual+[CRIT%].dual+[VIT].dual

They work pretty well, but were a bit too conservative for me. I modified it to keep even less legendaries. Go through the legendary.dis file and change [keep] to [trash] on anything that you don't want.

Na those are normal. They just see magic/rare items on the ground and report back that msg, because there are nothing in the rules regarding magic/rare items. I personally use trinity to set if i pick them up or not as it is alot easier to toggle trinity than edit the pickup.dis file constantly.

Definitely a good idea. I wrote those when I botted barbs/wizzies. Now I bot a single WD. I've got enough play time again to see that too many belts and rings are still getting through so I'll be most likey auto trashing alot of belts and tuning the rings to be kept if they are trifecta's only. I'm hoping the devs will update DB so it can read +element damage as currently DB is no able to read that stat off necks and it's making alot of trash necks get through, which is necessary as otherwise it could trash a nice one with 2 good rolls and +ele dmg.

Might be a good idea to keep sever, since MfD : Grim reaper and Jade WD sever combo is getting popular. (At least in the Korean communities.)

For those that do not know yet, the sever damage from WD Jade harvest does spread out via MfD:Grim reaper, one-shotting everything (even the rift guardian).
