You're clearly missing the point. How would they KNOW to look? If they don't know there is an issue then for all they know its working fine and nothing is happening. This is reactive industry, you can only do so much to be proactive until what you think is working, clearly isn't.

They did know where to look.

They announced on Discord that they discovered a new memory read function, yet they couldn't figure out what it did, so they went and released the bot.

I'm not saying that's the functionality that caused the bans, but if you find a new function and you can't figure out what it does, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU RELEASE YOUR BOT?

No I am not missing the point. If I know that some part of machinery is going to break and cause problems later on do I keep tabs on it by doing maintenance periodically or just let is break? If the amount of effort which was done in a day now was done weekly would it have reduced the amount of banned people? This is the thing what you guys don't seem to understand.

Money.

I had a lifetime user with alot of bought profiles. Can I get a return or something on that? reopen my license or something? :)

When you buy a new license, the profiles will be there waiting for you.

I still laugh that it is PROVEN with the last 5 or 6 banwaves that HB is detectable and you WILL get banned. Read that, WILL GET BANNED. There is no iffs ands or butts about it. Yet people still use it on main accounts and cry when they get banned. Hilarious.

Thanks for taking our lifetime keys, now we can finally just say fuck you and move away from your shit community.

such a widely used bot is very simple to detect. server side data analysis ALONE would reveal botting behaviour almost immediately.

this current banwave was 100% automated. the anti bot guys there wrote a few lines of code and caught everyone. as some posters have noted, they used the bot for only a few moments and still received a ban.

besides private bots which are not for sale, blizzard will 100% always know when you are botting, they don't seem to care for how long, so the only question remaining is how often will they purge the botting accounts? twice a year? 10 times a year? as mentioned in this thread multiple times, casual botting with a mainstream bot like honorbuddy that is 100% detected 100% of the time is highly questionable (unless you are rich or can steal legion licenses somehow :D ).

On the Defcon they said that blizzard shouldn't be doing ban waves more often than every 2 or 3 months - users would run out of cash to buy more accounts.
It was december-may-post legion release-20something november. So from around 6 months to 2 and something months.

Maybe because Legion is more in the eyes of the public, roasting blizzard about not taking care of botters. I imagine after the huge media hype about Legion, the next question from public was what will you do with all those botters? So the pressure to show real seriousness was there?
Anyways, gl to everbody, and hope for the best.

philosophically WoW would be a much stronger game if bots were banned instantly, and the game was improved to a state where botting wasn't so beneficial and removed so much pain from playing the game.

blizzard's choice to only periodically ban botters to allegedly coax more game license purchases out of them is a very short sighted business practice. instead of solving the core problem which encourages casual botters and also gold sellers, they have taken a very mercantile approach. which is typical of soulless large corporations, so we should not be surprised at such cynical practices, especially as we are exploiters ourselves.

the core problem is of course their game is far too monotonous and repetitive, without being rewarding enough for the time spent. not only that, but to achieve the highest echelons of raid challenges or m+ or top 1% of pve achievements, you simply MUST be doing these monotonous tasks over and over, almost every day (AP farm, gold farm, legendary rng roll of dice farm, to name but a few).

back in vanilla / bc before botting was as sophisticated as it is now, i chose to buy gold with cash instead, so that i could log on to raid and have consumables without having to grind for hours extra per day (raiding progression alone was 3-4 hours per night, no way i wanted to add any more time if i could just spend IRL money to get currency). nothing has changed, in fact the extra grinding tasks are more than ever, as the smartest minds in blizzard have left long ago for other projects and companies, and we have the dunces from d3 copy pasting the legendary rng code and brainless paragon grinding.

i could go on but i'm preaching to the converted.

What?

They can't prevent Warden from detecting the bot in the future since they don't know what Warden will scan for next time it scans.
Warden could be updated every hour, which doesn't require a client patch for WoW, for all we know.

It's impossible to maintain an undetected bot from a company like Blizzard.
and how do you know that this is true?

My account got suspended for 6 months. I have been botting with HB since 2010 (pirox before that). I went through 3 banned accounts since I started botting. This account is 5 years with HB. I quit WoW/Botting for a year and half during WoD. I came back to play Legion mid Dec and found out there were 2 banwaves prior, but I didn't care because I knew the risk. I leveled by hand and have only use the BGBuddy bot for about 4-5 hours a day. I didn't want to grind out the prestige system. I have never used the bot for quests, gathering, or gold farming. Only casual PVP. I didn't resub after the lifetime key changes so wasn't botting on the account for the last 2 weeks and still got hit. To be honest, I'm not salty. HB had provide an awesome bot for me for the last 6 years. I guess I have to go find something else to do until I get my account back in 6 months. I'm not sure what I will do then. If the bot gets better at detection, then I'll think about resubing. Otherwise, it was a good run.

download Honorbuddy v3.0.16936.877
still can't login :(
just shows Tripwire warning screen , like old version
and i can't disable Tripwire from webside
Disable Tripwire link didn't work in Buddy Auth Portal page
hope this will be fix soon

Why doesn't Bossland just drop HB and make a new one with some different code and different kind of injection? I know it's easy to say than do, but they have had their ass dragged in courts one would think they know what to do to avoid getting to court.
Besides, if Blizzard keeps losing in courts (since HB is still active), then how come they got drained of money so fast? It should cost Blizzard a lot more.
This time a generic responsle from Bossland as in "we have found and patched the hole" is not going to be enough for me.

I do not understand this crying, ban wave every 2 month, PERFECT.

I did in this time a lote more money than its cost, muliplicator of 8-10.

Go on BOSSLAND!

Every 2 months paying 50$ is cool. at the way ti is going right now a ban every 2 months (well in the last 6 months 4 bans that a total of 200$ USD in 4 months) spent + a new key recently.. not bad so if we keep going at this pace it will be minimum about 6 to 8 ban until if not more until January 2018 so a total of 600$ USD + 25$ Eur for that shitty bot per year if they don't change the licence agreement again and make it a weekly sub now LOL.. to play a game that is now monthly free.

You are right we are just a bunch of cry baby.. we should just stop posting and move along.. No point staying on this forum.. Whoever is done with this bot just stop posting move on. no need to give them more attention. they will go down the shit anyways eventually.

I say another ban is coming as soon as it's up..

Yes, i pay 400$ every 2 month for 10 Bots and earn a lot more!

If you and other stop botting, i could earn more, also stop it!:)

I'm not going to ask for a refund, nor am I going to chargeback my purchase, I'm not going to berate or complain or threaten to sue. What I am going to do is simply and politely voice my disappointment.

I've been a subbed user for the better part of a decade, I've been botting for even longer than that, started with Glider, moved on to Pirox, then onto HB when Pirox did that incredibly stupid thing with the archaeology bot and I was dumb enough to use it even after common sense dictated otherwise.

HB was supposed to be better than any other bot out there, more secure, and more easily configurable, easier to write profiles, botbases, and plugins. That's why you built such a strong base in the beginning, because everyone saw the potential and jumped on board. Tripwire in and of itself was amazing, countless banwaves for years were avoided due to it intercepting Blizzards attempts at detection. Because of that the base grew even larger, but it looks like the end has been reached. I do not know what's going on your end as far as coders are going, if that's even the issue, I'm not going to speculate, make assumptions, spread rumors like maybe there's some kind of link, hell, maybe you guys just sort of gave up. I don't know, nor do I care.

I care about the money I'm losing though, I care about having to rebuy all the WoW expansions, I care about losing money on gametime I will not get to use now that I've lost another account. I'm not someone who uses the bot to farm gold to sell, I don't even farm gold to buy gametime tokens, I bot because the game as a whole sucks, I bot because I hate leveling by hand, I hate questing, I hate grinding. The admins who have access to it can check my buddyauth and see how much I've purchased as far as CRs, botbases, plugins, and profiles. I bot things I don't want to do by hand, but every time I get a little further ahead than I was last time my account get banned, my new account gets hit and it's beginning to just get exhausting.

When the lifetime keys were revoked, I said screw it and purchased another key, I debated buying another yearlong sub but decided to just buy a monthly one, and honestly I'm very glad I did. I don't think I'd be as calm about it as I am now if I had paid a bit more than what I did because now it's, once again, wasted money.

I don't know if you gave up, or if Blizzard figured out how to stay 1 step ahead of you, I don't care, but I am officially done. Something I never thought I would say because hell, I've been botting so long that I'm kind of just numb to the losses. I just hope that if you do in fact plan on continuing... whatever this is now, that you figure out what you need to do to survive, because I honestly don't see it making it through this. Unless it's the gold farmers that are keeping you afloat. I'm not leaving the forums, I'm going to keep watching, as I have for years now, to see how everything develops and maybe one day I'll rejoin the botting community fully, but for now, farewell and good luck to those who are willing to continue on.

Well said sir, this is exactly how I feel too. I cannot believe that this constant ban wave cycle is just "bad luck" any more - I do not believe that the coders for HB can keep up from what we are seeing and therefore it's simply tedious and too costly to proceed like this as a user, so as they say on Dragon's Den - "Regretfully - I'm out".

They hired some one really really skilled at finding bots most likely a virus programmer or someone that worked for a virus company

250.00 is what I have spent so far. Not buying legion again.

try buying legendaries too.. Bossland will not get another penny of my money ever again. You cannot trust the company to honor anything it sells you after the lifetime policy change. Next they'll tell you that one year licenses are being trimmed to 6 months and 1 months are only good for a week. Same shit.
