IKR, i had over 5.000.000 bots, and this decision made it real hard for me.
Will you buy a new key if you had a lifetime key?

first of all, i was not aware there are people who had over 9.000 bots. But if you say that, it must be true.
Now let me jump back to Glider, with Glider i had at least 2 real Banwaves a year, sometimes more, sometimes just on Christmas, where every single Char died.
Now with Glider June 2005 - January 2009 compared to Gatherbuddy/Honorbuddy March 2009 - *, it is 3.5 years vs nearly 8 years*. With Glider i have seen a lot more banwaves that i have ever seen with GB/HB, a lot more.
And do not get me wrong, it is not that Blizzard does not try to detect us on every patch, they do, but they mostly do not suceed. They had until recently no interest in other bots, for whatever reasons.
Last stable release Glider did, was 1.8.0 - imagine what would have happened on 2.0 or 3.0 ? Nothing could have happened, or something scimilar to this one, if Glider had the balls to continue with the Court of Appeals.
But they did not,
anyway i will not write much more about v1, v2 and v3, as people do not want to hear it. So let better the peope speak

And by the people it seems, it is solely the gold farmers here, that open up new accounts, new threads and try to revide our decision. It will hot happen. I am sorry that in 8 years of service, you managed to only make loses with Honorbuddy and you still continue strong with it. I had no idea.
From what i see, the users that we rely on, buy v3 and get on with it, knowing that we did it right, one can always do it better, if he sits on a chest of gold, like Blizzard does. Did they do it better? I do not think so.
Anyway, this thread and i am open for your open minds.

This is bullshit. to milk more money. You go to a store, buy a car.. and hey they want there car back after 2 years. And if u want to buy ur own car, u need to rent it now. Where is the owner rights in ur own key? The smart asses did the math, 260.000 Registerd users they bought there keys.. and they sit on the fucking gold mine. So lets get 260.000x25 euros all over again. I got multi keys for Wow and diablo.

As a fella Okie I get the fuk blizz part. But it's not a matter of sides! It's a matter of speculative reality of what the percentage of something happening might be. IE: HB sinking or not.
Sure I can say/type the same thing you did, but even Bossland said one of the realities.
and because of this, the percentage guess work has more percentage points to HB going down, even if no one ever complained and bought new keys.
Most I assume, have enjoyed and have been thankful and hopeful with Bossland trying to fight a good fight. But Blizz has the Nuke and has proven they'll hit that button many times. Bossland is stuck with minor conventional weaponry even if everyone created a few bullets (monies for new key)now. In short! it simply doesn't look good for HB. Can miracles happen! Most of us have witnessed something liken to one in our lives. But the bet by many is that.... there will be no miracle here.

to add/counter your viewpoint. i see honorbuddy as a tool. nothing more, nothing less. yes, i get mad when a 'lifetime guaranteed' tool breaks. sucks so bad. however, i weigh all the days i used the tool and measure the good i got from using said tool.
if that tool breaks i have a couple different options. i can have the tool repaired/replaced. hoping the company is still viable and honoring such contracts i might spend more time chasing this solution than its worth. getting that satisfaction must meet requirements such as how long will it take, will i suffer while waiting on a replacement, will the new product be the same as the old.
the second option i have is going to another company and seeking a similar tool to do the job that the first tool handled.
right now, im a mechanic with no 15mm wrench, so do i sit around outside the store pissing and moaning telling everyone how my tool broke and they wont honor the lifetime guarantee? or do i just go in and buy a new wrench.
p.s. a good 15mm wrench costs more than a year sub for honorbuddy.

dont worry, i am sure if you bought your wrench from a trustworthy company and have the bill or payment proof they will replace ur lifetime warranty wrench. no matter if they call it now wrench2 or wrench3
you have the right to get mad if they do not replace or refund if they still sell the fuckin same product.

Indeed! Tis why Sears and Roebuck has been around since 1886. Buy craftsman and they will replace a tool if it's worn out or even misused and abused. I say that, because I've been a Licensed A&P (Airframe and Power plant) mechanic for 26 years (now I'm telling my age a bit here). I once purposely heated, flattened and bent a screwdriver to use in order to get behind and between the skin and a former of a British Airways Cargo model 111 plane(in short a BAC111). Anyway. I had a few tools needing replaced and thought; what the heck! I'll take it too. Sure enough, sears gave me a new one. They have been around because they back what they say.. Life time to them means the life of their business, not your life time.
But the subject matter I was talking bout, before you took it here to the tool analogy frosticus was not about this. It was about who's side pep are on. And the odds are against HB as can be seen through out the postings of late. Yes people are upset and rightly so. It doesn't matter what you used the tool for. If you buy a tool with a life time warranty, then you expect to get it replaced. But like I also said in a past posting. It's done! they aren't honoring their lifetime deal with peps. so now the choices are to buy another key, go to another bot, or don't bot at all. Simple. But we still have rights (at least some here in America still for a little while longer I hope) and one of those rights gives people the right to voice their opinions, gripes, whines, or whatever. So we see the last choice here. And that is to type any opinion, gripes, whines, crying or whatever. shrugs
P.S. At present I'm undecided. One reason is due to payday hadn't happened yet fer me and won't until the end of the month. Another is that I'm also waiting to see if anyone or how many pep are going to have problems either getting their key or HB working right still and what not. So far of those that may have purchased a new key, haven't said much of anything. One could attempt to assume, since there is nothing yet, that it's all working good. But I'm not going to make such assumptions. So I wait.

im buying another sub because supporting a automation program is the best thing its not bosslands fault that blizzard keeps coming after them and they prob lost alot of money because of lifetime subs but they have to make sacrifices somehow and the lifetime users are getting a free ride bossland shouldnt of made lifetime keys because it wouldnt of caused thiss riot and and honorbuddy has been fighting blizzard for everyone and everyones complaining that there no free botting most companies die off but not this one they need more money to create a better future and as they say everything has a end

sears just sold their tool line to stanley. stanley has just as good as warranty as any other tool company and you can get your tools replaced at walmart. a lot of tools are made at the same manufacturer just more expensive the shinier they get.
I know Ace hardware deals in craftsman and sears stores are still around too. So you can still get em warrantied there. Who makes the tools isn't so important to me. Being able to get em replaced free due to warranty is. I wouldn't trade in a craftman for a Stanley. While both may indeed be as you say, a craftsman I believe is made to a higher standard. But I could be wrong about that too. I do know only 3 chemical company's in the U.S. makes Antifreeze, but no telling how many labels and colors of bottles it's put into.
It doesn't matter to me if the new keys are $25 or 25¢. How can they be trusted after this? They not only handled everything horribly, they lied to their customer base and now they're being just as rude (if not more so) as the irate customers in some of the threads on this forum. It's mind boggling enough to ask their customers to make up for their own shortsightedness in the past, but on top of that they ridicule their customers as well. Amazing. This should be a chapter in a business textbook on how not to run a business or treat customers.
The lack of profit caused by the previous lifetime key policy is not something that just blindsided Bossland overnight. They had every opportunity over the last few years to explain the situation to everyone here. Most rational people would have understood and either agreed to a sensible, gradual lifetime key expiration or donated money. Most people were already buying routines and profiles via the Buddystore. They instead decide to handle this situation with about as much tact as a fart in church.
The money is not the issue. I'm sure just about everyone that has been here for years has made their money back and more. It's the lack of honesty, lack of professionalism and horrendous customer service that is pissing most of the people off.

its about the same with anything i suppose. whether it be tool sales, antifreeze, motor oil, arms sales, or even lawyers. good business to supply both sides of a conflict. and the lawyers, which are the only winners in this battle with blizzard.
id rather see hb customers rally around bossland and be mad about the judge's decision instead of attacking each other like rabid dogs.
the hatred and vitriol that has surfaced is very negative for a dying community. its sad to see people turn so quickly and eat the corpse of a friend. i will miss honorbuddy if many of you get your wish. i just want to be left alone and bot in peace. many of you want to take that away from me. fanboi is the only insult you can think of to describe my loyalty. why attack people who just want to bot.

Thanks a lot for this. I spent the extra money back in the day when you needed it for a Lifetime. Now you take it all away? Wow. I was one of the Glider Admins over at their Vent and came over and helped with testing in the beginning. Then I paid the money for a lifetime. Please remember at the time Glider was gone and a crap load of bots hit the scene. I invested in this one. I bought a lifetime when it looked like this Bot would fall like the others. This is not the right way to treat us. I might be done with this whole thing. Only reason I play WoW is to Bot. I love botting. Now I have to pay for it again? No thank you. My key is gone and it's not even 2018. And I was one of the first. Bad form. Just bad form. WoW is dead within 2 years and you want to get a little more money out of me? BAD FORM. NOT ANOTHER DIME!!!

I do remember, but you probably don't. You should have gone with the 10 bots that went down and spend individually 10 times the money for their lifetimes.
