[Official] Statement about Arenas and Battlegrounds

Same with me, done with this shit now. Dictate what I can and can't do with an illegal third party program anyway lmfao how stupid could they be

Whats your answer to that Tony???

They always have dictated how you use the bot, and they always will..If they don't want you to use the bot for one area of the game, they have absolute ability to remove your ability to use the bot for that aspect of the game. You have absolutely no control, no matter how feel about it.

They also don't have to justify anything to you or anyone else. It's their bot, their rules. If you don't like it, take your whiney ass somewhere else. Better yet, take all the energy you spend crying and build your own bot where you actually do have some control. You have absolutely zero control here.

There's maybe 10 ultra-whiney bitches that won't let this thread die, everyone else realizes nothing you say will change their minds.

Chalk up a loss of business from that then, on to the next provider!

What loss? They already have your money for keys. They aren't losing anything by you leaving.

Please do head to the next provider. I'm sure they'll enjoy your crying there, too.

Youre telling me that a company who creates an illegal third party program that violates terms of services cares about the integrity of the game? i.e arena?

So much lawl from your comment.

Retiring from WOWBuddy thx.

Yes, that was the reason from Bossland (well read), and it is ok that you don`t like it.

Good bye, and don`t let the door hit you on your way out.

Just my 2 cents here but at what point is HB illegal? There has be no court ruling stating this bot is illegal yet! All this bot does is break a 'gentleman's agreement" that we are forced to sign to play a game. For all those players who keep saying "I'm breaking the law anyways why not let me break the law in anyway I see fit" it is a very narrow minded view on things. I need to feed my family so I steal a loaf of bread but hey some of us want to kill the baker as well because we can is not the right view on things at all. Think of HB as a person who tells you where the shops are that you can steal things and get away with it with as little risk as possible, however people are doing damage to certain shops and the police are *****ing down harder then ever and now HB has to do some control measures to ensure they can keep doing what they do.

The bot allows players a wide variety of things that normally we can not and each players reason is different however without some form of method of control players have been abusing it. It has got the the point now that bossland has realized he has gained to much bad attention and needs to tone it down to fly under the radar again. Bots have and always will be a problem and we all contribute to it however some will impact other legitimate players negatively and some will not, arena seems to be an issue bossland has pin pointed as a issue that it effecting legitimate players the most in a negative way and attracting more attention then the rest.

HAHAHAHAHA illegal ??? What kind of stupid are you to believe that botting is illegal ? ..

My bad I just read the FBI have a special task force setup specifically for hunting down and catching botters.. We will be looking at 20 years to Life in jail if we are caught ... Watch out people !!!

Well I know I don't have much word or rep to my name in the forums, but i do play the game daily and while I do bot to gather all my mats for professions botting for BGs or Arena's from what I have seen in BGs is a bad idea. When I am doing bgs you can tell right away who the bots are and if you ask me thats a sure fire way of getting caught. I vote to keep any type of botting out of bgs and arenas.

thanks for your input PVE player it was clearly balanced and unbiased

Ok so I am confused. I understand that botting in arena is dumb. It kind of made sense back when you only had to do 10 games, win or lose, to get points.

What I maybe misunderstanding is are you considering removing BG farming? So the bot called HonorBuddy will no longer grind honor for me? I don't understand why you are even considering this.

What am i missing here?

edit: was there a banwave that I missed? I took 4-5mths off of WoW

I'm in the same boat as you are, haven't played in a while and came back to do some PvP to see that Battlegrounds is not supported so I have to manually grind my PvP Primal gear which is a downer. I do understand why they don't support Arena anymore since instant interrupts were getting out of hand but they will lose future and current businesses with developers switching platforms so that's also a downer. As a loyal supporter of honorbuddy, I wouldn't want to see that happen.

Where have you seen this? It is only Arenas that are closed down - nothing else. They have implied that fully AFK BG`s can go away to - but it has not been decided yet.

For all the new people in this thread...

At least take 5 minutes and do some research before you post stupid questions. Hell, even reading the first post of the thread would've given you all the answers you need.

Arenas was all I had left in WoW that was fun TBH. PvE is boring as hell. So the one thing I had (and many other people had) left was arenas and Bossland took it away from us.

Are you telling me I could've botted my way through honor points? Good god, I'm an idiot for not even trying with the bot. Oh I feel like an idiot. Saw bunch of posts about battlegrounds being disabled so I assumed it wouldn't work haha, wow.

Maybe you should take you own advice and read the first thread more carefully and read my question once again,

We approved Honorbuddy to be used in Battlegrounds since its first release but we will look into that again and tell you if we have a change of mind very soon.

It is because of that sentence I am concerned.

^ That is exactly what you need to do.

I think for further pissants, below should summarise your questions. Please let me know if I am wrong.

Bossland already admitted they do not know how HB is detected.
- Q: Why then release version and allow bot to run again?
- A: Sittin around not doing anything isnt going help is it? (further bans and patterns can be picked up but be ready, guinea pigs!)
- +: Blizzard can subscribe to HB but the program itself has nothing to do with tripwire/safety switch. So, for you who think that Blizz folks can pick up this bot and learn EVERYTHING about it, this is simply not true.

Why disable arena now?
- Arena was never intended. While business was good, it was left there to flourish. Keyword "left."
- Feed back has it that this unwanted "growth" is bringing most of the unwanted heat to HB.

THUS: In order to protect the rest of the HB users/subscribers, ARENA is shutdown. Decision made, no point arguing and bitching about it.
Look at the logic, during the big ban wave, the situation HB is in is what got blizzard set their sight on HB. Thus, the situation needs changing.

Already this big ban wave affected Bossland's reputation (or rather HB subscriber/user confidence.) To continue on as the situation at the banwave is a suicidal decision. THINGS NEEDED TO CHANGE and ARENA is the smallest and in majority's opinion, the most effective move. BG is not taken out (under consideration)because HB is trying to limit what to take out of the bot, for who? For us of course fool. Until there is a bullet proof way to stop Blizzard from even coming close to detecting bot usage, maybe then it would be wise to reconsider arena, but right now, read the top of this post.

To stop arena usage is an attempt to salvage what that is left of HB and us as subscribers. If the situation did not change and Blizzard continue their crusade against HB, HB will die off and the bigger majority of non-bitching-hissing users will suffer the most. Now, questing, farming etc will not be possible (while having HB as your only source.)

All these are considerations which I can understand. I consider them baggage Bossland carries when the company and HB usage grew. The appetite for risk becomes much lower.

Thus, this leads me to my first point, saying that you are making the right move. Go over to a smaller bot start-up. These folks will be more aggressive and have a larger appetite for risk which may suit your character.

Also, this is my rant, and my opinion and by no means reflect those of HB/Bossland.

Peace. :)

I don't care about arenas I am talking about Battlegrounds. I have no idea why they are even thinking about removing BG botting (I know they haven't yet).

First there was WoW Glider then PiroxBots (both are shut down so I hope it is OK that I mention them) and now HonorBuddy. There will always be another bot to do what I want its just HonorBuddy grew to be the best bot I have ever used and I am disappointed I have to find something else. I have only used bots to grind honor and maybe to finish off a few max levels here and there.

And don't you think they would've updated the first thread if they had made a decision? Common sense, man...Common sense.

The fact that you think disabling arenas is going to prevent Blizzard from continuing their crusade against HB is laughable. Blizzard was going to be going after HB regardless of whether arenas were shut down.

It's astonishing to me that people see arenas as the problem when you have bot trains going from spot to spot in the piss poor design of BG Buddy. BG Buddy is an absolute joke and it has been a joke for YEARS. The usual excuse is that the randomized pathing we wanted wasn't available. Odd, considering the fact that Millz was able to at least accomplish a more randomized approach using BGFarmer.

Complaining about it won't solve anything. I understand that, and it's the reason that I will be moving on to a different bot when the great PvP developers head to those platforms (HINT: The main ones, minus a couple, already are). It's just frustrating that Bossland would act as though it was arenas that was the sole problem and not afk BGs. I've seen legit players get reported as bots simply because they are great. People are going to complain if they get outperformed, regardless of how legitimate it is.
