^ That is exactly what you need to do.
I think for further pissants, below should summarise your questions. Please let me know if I am wrong.
Bossland already admitted they do not know how HB is detected.
- Q: Why then release version and allow bot to run again?
- A: Sittin around not doing anything isnt going help is it? (further bans and patterns can be picked up but be ready, guinea pigs!)
- +: Blizzard can subscribe to HB but the program itself has nothing to do with tripwire/safety switch. So, for you who think that Blizz folks can pick up this bot and learn EVERYTHING about it, this is simply not true.
Why disable arena now?
- Arena was never intended. While business was good, it was left there to flourish. Keyword "left."
- Feed back has it that this unwanted "growth" is bringing most of the unwanted heat to HB.
THUS: In order to protect the rest of the HB users/subscribers, ARENA is shutdown. Decision made, no point arguing and bitching about it.
Look at the logic, during the big ban wave, the situation HB is in is what got blizzard set their sight on HB. Thus, the situation needs changing.
Already this big ban wave affected Bossland's reputation (or rather HB subscriber/user confidence.) To continue on as the situation at the banwave is a suicidal decision. THINGS NEEDED TO CHANGE and ARENA is the smallest and in majority's opinion, the most effective move. BG is not taken out (under consideration)because HB is trying to limit what to take out of the bot, for who? For us of course fool. Until there is a bullet proof way to stop Blizzard from even coming close to detecting bot usage, maybe then it would be wise to reconsider arena, but right now, read the top of this post.
To stop arena usage is an attempt to salvage what that is left of HB and us as subscribers. If the situation did not change and Blizzard continue their crusade against HB, HB will die off and the bigger majority of non-bitching-hissing users will suffer the most. Now, questing, farming etc will not be possible (while having HB as your only source.)
All these are considerations which I can understand. I consider them baggage Bossland carries when the company and HB usage grew. The appetite for risk becomes much lower.
Thus, this leads me to my first point, saying that you are making the right move. Go over to a smaller bot start-up. These folks will be more aggressive and have a larger appetite for risk which may suit your character.
Also, this is my rant, and my opinion and by no means reflect those of HB/Bossland.
Peace.
