i think that one is text based isn't it? And its much easier to use minixp and regedit load hive and edit what you load then close and done at least for me.
U have to follow the instructions precisely step by step, then it should work.Anyone have detailed instruction for getting this to run on windows 7 Professional; I have went through a lot of posted and have not gotten to work. I keep getting the message Game cant start in VM; I have bridged connection on the VM player 7 for this; I have added the string to the File. But all Isee id a .VMXF file. Im pretty sure this is correct. I have gone inot the regiestery and tried Generic Device, The GPU name from Dxdiag, and left it blank. If someone could post some sreen shots for this it would be great. or some detailed instruction. I the the Error Message themida "Sorry this application cant run under a virtual machine". The Archeage.exe application error This application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Any suggestions or a walk trhough would be nice; I dont want to bot I just run 2 account would be nice to have them both on at same time. I have all the way that have been suggested. And no luck. Please Help
Hey guys, I wanted to report that I got this working with windows 7 pro. I followed these steps but took some slight deviations.hi,
i am running 2 archeage in vmware works fast without single lag
here is the steps of how i did it
instruction :
1- install windows 8.1 - my spec are ( 4 cpu , 60gb size , 6gb ram ) you can do 3~4gb ram and it will work fine for 1 client
2- install vmware drivers ( to get graphic card updated )
3- install directx9 , and disable windows defender <~~ make sure of this step
4- install the game ( just install don't run it yet )
5- turn off vmware and edit vmx file add these data
6- run vmware edit register using ( Run ) -> ( regedit )
find ( @oem9.inf;%svga%;VMware SVGA 3D ) replace it with () <~~ replace it with empty data ( if this step shows error then use offline register editor or hiren's boot
find all ( VMware SVGA 3D ) replace them with ( GTX 660 ) <~~ i did this
7- reboot your pc and run the game
advice 1 : disable all windows visual settings to increase performance
advice 2 : run game as window mode and NOT full mode
advice 3 : lower game quality if you gonna run more than 1 client make lowest in the settings ^_^
The problem is I can not edit the oem9 string; First mine has a oem10 string
It wont let me edit it at all
any advice
or what is a good offline regiestry edito to do this
@oem10.inf,%svga%;VMware SVGA 3D is what i have
Ok I got to delete that string and change it to GTX 650
I am in the process of updateing windows;
Im not sure i am putting it in the right VMX place. The onle vmx file is see is vmxf. type file
Do anyone know how to fix VM crashing on 100% loaded game?
It crashes totally and remains locked, so I have to delete .lck folders and start over.
And it crashes again.
Just new VM, windows 7.
And 8.1 did the same thing.
Found the solution.
"go to Documents/Archeage/User/Shaders and delete the cache folder"
I have the same problem crashing on 100% loaded game ( W 8.1 and VMWARE 11 ) i try delete Archeage folder and crash... =/
Same problem with me as well .. idk what to do
I've only seen one person address the issue of the game freezing or locking up ... everyone else i've read up here have all stated that their stuff works fine for them.
A buddy gave me the links to everything he uses to run AA in a VM -- i don't want to use AB, i dont even have it... His runs just fine, mine freezes w/in seconds of getting into the game.
I followed all the instructions to a T -- have uninstalled / reinstalled everything at least 20+ times. I am very ignorant to VM but i will try to list my spec's and what i am using.
Host Machine
-------------
OS - Win 7 64x
Ram - 16gig
HDD - 500gig
GPU - GTX 760
CPU - Intel i5-2500 @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
VMWare Player (free)
--------------------
OS - Win 7 32x
Ram - 7gig
HDD - 60gig
GPU - GTX 760
CPU - Intel i5-2500 @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz (Dedicated 2 cores to this VM)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
As mentioned above, i can get into the game no problem. Staying in the game is a different story all together. I don't know what im doing unless i have a pop-up book or step by step instructions (with pictures prefered)... Total novice at this stuff, but i have a willingness to learn if someone could be patient with me long enough to tell me what exactly i've done wrong that everyone else runs this game w/out freezing / crashing the entire VM.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and i apologize in advance for my lack of understanding that anyone may happen upon.
Thank you

Hmm have you tried disabling the sound before entering the game? If not try that just to see as sound drivers can sometimes cause crashes esp after in game at weird times. Just a thought anyway and something you can at least try before entering game as i think you can access options for sound before you enter game?
You could also try turning some of the video options off like vsynch etc inside the vm or anything else like that and lower the quality etc of the video as well maybe. not sure what else you can try. Did you do all the steps at the start of this post including edit the vmx file?
The sound is turned off in the Game -- Graphics are all set to Lowest possible setting with Shadow's turned off -- Where is this Vsynch inside the vm? I did edit the VMX file. Only thing i couldn't figure out how to do is Hirin's Boot thing, but that shouldn't matter as a lot of people skipped that step and run AA just fine inside the VM with no hiccups.
same to me, mouse just insanethx, its working, but i cant move my camera properly with my mouse, any sollution?
