Simple tips how to run archeage in vmware

Any ideas how to completely eliminate vmware freezes? They seem to be caused by the game itself when entering places with too many people and objects to be rendered (like housing areas) .. but sometimes they're just random.
I have everything set on low, including the lowest number of visible players.

https://www.raymond.cc/blog/how-to-edit-windows-registry-key-values-without-booting-in-windows/ and Hiren's: Boot CD: Booting a Windows VM into Hiren's as references.

I used the PC Regedit iso. First link teaches you how to edit the registry offline and the 2nd link teaches you how to boot up into a .iso from your Windows VM.

I'm in PC Regedit now. The mouse is completely flipping out, but I managed to get to a point where I can navigate with the keyboard a little. I don't suppose you could tell me exactly where to find the entry to clear out?

dude, i was able to run a clien within the VM and another in the host OS... how do you manage to bypass the hackshield to allow two clients running in the same VM

HEY GUYS IM SO EXCITED! JUST GOT MULTIBOXING TO WORK! (works perfectly as of 3/24/2015)

Edit: Forgot to mention I am currently running a 2014 15" Macbook Pro, with Windows 8.1 Pro installed on Bootcamp as my host OS. Used VMware Workstation 11 (get the *****ed full version from thepiratebay.se), and the VM that I successfully installed and ran Archeage on is windows 7 ultimate x64

What I did:
1. read through and understand the whole detailed process posted by alq0rsan on page1
2. follow the process of ArcheMasterTech on page7 exactly as he does it. Only problem is with editing the registry stuff.
3. I had trouble editing the registry via regedit cuz my account on windows7 VM was denied permission,
4. I found offline registry editing to be complicated, so I switched to the built in administrator's account for windows. That then allowed sufficient permission to edit registry via regedit
(for detailed information on how to enable/gain permission to edit registry via regedit, see link below)

yeah haha the process was a struggle because there isn't a full comprehensive, up to date guide on how to multibox, and information is kinda spread all over the pages :)

Hi,

I am running a brand new computer with GTX970. I have installed VMware player 7.32.01. Anyone can tell me if this can work with this version ? I have none AA open, and I have done all the steps, Start my VM, Start AA and the Hacksheild kicks in.. I can't even open 1 AA inside a VM (windows 7 Ultimate)

Connadonners if your getting the hackshield coming look on the first post of this topic and make sure you have done all the things in the editing your vmx file. Pretty sure the monitor_control.restrict_backdoor one is the one that was givjing me problems with it always going to hackshield page. But it might have been one of the others as it was a bit ago and i can't remember for sure. Its def. one of them though assuming you did all the registry entries to of course. Remember vmware has to be closed when you edit it and the registry stuff is done inside the vm.
"
5- turn off vmware and edit vmx file add these data
svga.vramSize = 268435456
monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true"
isolation.tools.getPtrLocation.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.setPtrLocation.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.setVersion.disable = "true"
isolation.tools.getVersion.disable = "true"
monitor_control.disable_directexec = "true"
SMBIOS.reflectHost = "TRUE"

WHY i cant see this on my vmxfile?

hehe i just did what was in the first post myself and it worked first try. hardest part was editing registry key that needs to be done offline but i searched and found easiest way or what i thought was easiest way which was to load hirens and load windows pe from it then run rededit and open hive(s) i needed to change things in and exit and reboot the vm for changes to take effect ie the oem line has to be done offline so in mini pe or whatever it calls windows in hirens :)

And that's how it's supposed to be. If everyone could do it so easily, it would cancel any advantage you'd gain and it would become the standard. Then, you would be forced to do this just to keep up with everyone else. I don't think you'd want that.
Even if you do make it work, it's unbearable how often it freezes and how shitty the performance is - almost no FPS, glitches like mad and makes it unplayable - more like a personal achievement you made it work than anything else.

What advantage? The only different between one running in a vm and a normal machine is that they are going through a hell of a struggle, inexistant fps, glitches and everything else...

Not really though, it's totally fine now that i've figured it out. And the performance actually isn't shitty. I run Bootcamp on the new retina macbook pro with three virtual machines with no lag, and i can actually PVP on one of them. No freezes, no glitches, etc. I guess it all just depends on your computer's RAM, GPU, and how many Ghz your CPU has, and your internet bandwidth.
