MMOGlider probably coming back!

1. The same as every other bot, which isn't a great deal. The devs would see/hear of the change and take hb/gb offline right away if there were any such patches.

2. LuaNinja was unprotected therefore asking for trouble. It's a shame how things went for it, seems cypher made an error somewhere in his coding, these things happen. Either that or warden did infact update itself and catch them out, I forgot, didn't read up on it much. Anyway, he stated from the start that he beleived his code would protect luaninja unless warden patched itself but he couldn't be certain.

Anyway, hacks are treated differently to bots. Especially hacks that enable use of protected lua functions. It destroyed arena for a good while lol.

3. As far as I know, yes. Other than covering their tracks code-wise and monitoring warden for changes, this and a tripwire are the only precautions any bot can make against warden at this time.

They didnt make a error in there coding from what i was reading in the thread, warden did a silent update and detected them were cypher/kynox was not monitoring ( or something along the lines), you seem to have answed all my question's in good detail, thank's :)

Well hopefully you'll still get answers from someone closer to the team xD.

The tripwire. Do we not still have the website which showed whether it was running? I can't remember the url for the life of me but I swear we had one, maybe the took it down after the whole DOS issue's with the chinese/competitors. I'm sure we're safe tripwire-wise though :p.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the new warden they have on the PTR and what changes it'll bring. Well, not really new... I should go read up on it already..

Hoping one of a few possibilities happened:

1. Glider devs saw the tide turning in their favor, and started developing months ago, in the possible event that they were allowed to sell Glider again.
2. Maybe these guys (like many guys here) continued developing the bot in private, and never stopped.

I loved glider, but comparing it to HB/GB isn't fair since Glider is so outdated. GB is just about perfect, but without profiles from guys like Tony, it would be useless. The combat sucks, but that's stating the obvious. HB is damned good now, too. Esp. with people like Raphus making IB/AB. But again, without a good CC? Useless. See a pattern? Without KEY people in the community, it doesn't matter how good your bot it, if it requires user-generated content to function. That's the Achilles heel of bots like HB/GB, and I hope they seriously work on removing that restriction. I'm looking forward to a time when there is either no need for profiles/CCs, and you just set a few options in the GUI, or there's a perfect profile creator that can be used without HB, and can make hotspots, etc. a thing of the past. Maybe highlight an area, select a few mob types/levels, and off ya go.

If it's the simple follow the coordinates in a circle then it's not worth the time.

I find it very sad the people bashing hb/gb the hardest probably have it in window mode as there posting. HB/GB works good but it has its problems if Glider comes back ill give it a shot just to see what they did with it. If you cant manage to be mature enough to post an opinion instead of just bashing like a 13yr old girl then why waste space for someone with intelligence to respond and waste there time having to look through this crap?

I think that glider was great, hot shit, the coolest, bad ass, etc. But hb/gb is also the same. You simply cant compare them because the difference in patches, expansions, warden update, progams, etc. Each is better in there own way so lets not qq boys an girls lets just say "yay glider" and sit back and not fight over the possibility there even will be a release

you are correct

It might be... but it doesnt really matter. I know Merc - Was an elite glider customer (with 10 accounts) for years. If he comes back, it may take him a couple months but he will be at the top again, I have no doubt.

+ 10000

to be honest my first bot was glider and i thurt it was meh at best it looked bottish and had no other settings then grind mob so i think im just gonna stay with HB/GB

1) LuaFoo was 'somewhat' connected to GBs banwave. (Though, in all honesty (and all the devs will agree) it was a stupid mistake on the GB devs part, at the time.) - LuaFoo was made without any Warden protection, and it was even stated so in the release thread. As before though, feel free to blame me. The thing that got GB detected, is no longer an issue, and never will be again.

2) LuaNinja (Cypher's Lua hack) had Warden protection, for the sole reason to 'bait' the "Warden Guy" into updating Warden. They did; by manually mapping parts of the ntdll which Cypher didn't notice. (So his hooks were pointless, as the code was never being called anyway) - This isn't an issue with HB/GB or any non-fully-injected bots. (HB/GB are not fully injected)

Sincerely, I hope Glider does come back. It's always nice to have some form of competition, that's worth its own salt. Glider definitely has it's 'issues', as well as HB. But both would compliment each other very well. (Hopefully, we'll be better than Glider, but I'm biased, so take it with a grain of salt.)

I will say however, that Glider in its 'last' incarnation; was more intrusive than HB or GB are. (Maybe I just don't like the idea of having pseudo-rootkits being required to run a program. Just my opinion.) Also; just because I have to. OB > Glider.

It will be nice to see glider back on track.
I still have my elite account there so I will be more than happy to give things a spin once they are back up and running.

Glider + Ppather was great at it's time and you could do many things with it (first reputation quest profiles I made with that combo).

I don't think I will be leaving one for the other. I just enjoy best of 2 worlds I guess :)

I still cant find that screenshot all are talking about...

It's in the Glider Members-Only Forum section, Post called "*Ahem*" and "Just ran Glider and SOMETHING happened.." started by Octra

yea it was so secure that I had 2 Bannwaves there with GB I had only one so far...

And you think thats down to security of the bot ? Sorry but you're wrong. Blizzard had it in for MDY and everyone who used their bot. The effort they put it to ban it was 100 times greater than the effort they put in now. I'm not criticizing HB/GB because i think it's a good bot but it's widely accepted in the community that MDY put a huge amount of effort into their security.

imho it's not only the security of the bot, but also your own behaviour with botting.
I bot my and my wife's account (and since I'm a private botter it's my main account which is active for nearly 5 years now), and I never even had a suspension.

I used Glider (and Glider with Ppather), MmoTotus, HonorBuddy, GatherBuddy and a few other bots that are not even worth the mention (or are not mentioned since they never went public, but I was testing them).
And I used them extensively but with common sense.

lets see how secure the 64 Bit Version of glider is.... ( in the past there was none)
