Honorbuddy Bans Statement

I'm starting to find a common denominator here. Never had any problems before and only used routines for raiding but a while ago had a trial for garrisonbot. Can anyone confirm they got banned and never used it?

Never ever used it - funny, but doing the Garrison stuff entertained me, so I did it manually (always). :) ... I botted mostly CRs only during Raids (using Enyo + Tuan/YRB), but had HB level 2 or 3 toons, since these ever repeating same quests during leveling got so darn borning if you had to do them for the 8th+ time.

@Overnaturling no its not detected i bot 3 accs 2 nearly 24/7, 1 only for raids, alle 3 work fine no ban so i think its an normal ban wafe they collect some accs and then they ban all together
i cant corrected. but still cant totally outrule the fact that there might have been a window, where it was detectable. I see poeple saying they havent botted since 25/04 and wasnt hit. I havent botted whole of may and still i got hit.

Alot seems random.

Detection was in April/May. My account that botted in February and March are still ok.

I only ever botted on a single account and for personal fun/ease of use only (never annoyed anyone in arenas, bgs or elsewhere) - but since that one got booted and suspended for 6 months I cancelled the 3 more subscriptions I had been paying for the past Xx years. No more money out of my pocket Blizzard - and I still fancy the idea of throwing some money @ Kaesler & Kollegen. They admitted to have run clientside scans - which is in violation of EU and national law.

Just throwing my two copper out there. I was playing yesterday using enyo while raiding. When the ban hit I was scared. I got booted off, and logged back on an hour later. Behold that account is fine I bot on it all the time. That being said I was also running two more copies that I had just bought. Both of those are fine.

The only account that I got banned was my account that I had running gundrak with singular for 8 hours the day before. I needed the extra gold. other that that i used enyo, and garrison buddy twice.

I also bought tokens for all of said accounts 4 total. So for all you saying that they scan the pc it is highly unlikely.

So my two copper after and thinking of what profiles i've used? Since coming back after a 2 year break it would have been garrison buddy on that banned account. Other than that I used enyo, kicks profiles for leveling, paid routines. So the only difference I see is garrison buddy.

I also ran gundrak profile on my main account the same day to no ban.

If they did that. And if one of the bnet account is 100% genuinely no botted on, then Bnet mustve snooped around our comps. Different emails, different bnet accounts should be separate issue and no way in hell Bnet should treat them as a single entity.

I'm no law genius, but I do not think that this can be allowed. I love the game, and I will still subscribe, and very likely will still bot when a new release is available, but we cannot allow Bnet to take information from client side without us agreeing to it. :o

They can and it is completely legal, there are certain "identifiers" that Blizzard can use to identify unique users over multiple accounts.

The big four Identifiers you should always keep in mind are:

1 - Same name and address / email usage on seperate Battle.net Accounts
2 - Using similar credit card / paypal / bank accounts on each seperate Battle.net Account
3 - Network Adapter type identification (Mac Address, hardcoded serial number)
4 - Hardware identification ( similar pc setup on all Bnet accounts, identified by hard coded serial numbers)

You are willingly giving these Information while registering / installing that easily allow to identify you across multiple accounts.
So if they want to track you across multiple battle.net accounts they can. If you happen to use them in a ToS violating way they can of course ban you.

Let's say you have 5 accounts and use two of them to farm, two to run seperate guilds to obfuscate cashflow and your non botting main account that got as much as a carepackage of flask and raid food from one of botting accounts in the mail or traded.
That is enough to get all of your accounts banned as they can clearly see from one or multiple unique identifiers it's not five different people playing WoW or a friend helping out another with some flasks & food, but the same person on all of your seperate battle.net accounts.

I suspect they've been watching us for quite some time. Then they released the token, let all of us botters stock up on game time, and then hit us with the banhammer. This way they have sufficient evidence, should they need it (which they won't) and they aren't losing money because so many of us were paid up through that six month period. Personally, I only bought one token at a time, but I know plenty of people who bought a year's worth of tokens (or more).

I haven't bought a single token even if I could have bought 2 years worth of tokens and still got banned :)

Use HB for about 1 month, only few afk afashran pvp sessions and every day combat routines with enyo.
Actually no ban, but HB got the tripwire information and shutdown.

Wat dat? Honestly I'm not mad anymore. I knew the risks when using HB and they are a great company/bot base. I hope to see all of us appealed but who knows. Meanwhile I'll be play HotS and trying out WildStar.
Auf wiedersehen!! :D

I was pretty confused after getting a ban for the first time. But now i've read all about their financial loss i can understand why this happened. Still, i'm relieved that it's only 6 months... Back to leveling by hand in future i suppose :S

Wow. First time I was banned for using Honorbuddy.

Last time I was banned was back in '06 and we all remember what happend then...

Got a new account within 5 minutes and now I'm waiting for HB to return to stealth-mode and get back online!

:)

Grats for doing exactly what they want you to.

But now i've read all about their financial loss i can understand why this happened.

I tend to believe that "we" are quite a considerable group of their customers, paying good (and lots of it) money. It's plain stupid to piss at a random number of us, if not for good reasons (arena; bg; massive gold selling etc.). Ppl using this in the PvE enviroment for no more than their own entertainment are no more than using the game to it's purpose - to have fun playing it (their way).

Two 4+ year accts, 6 mo. ban. Used Enyo + TuanHa (& some Attilio76s crs) almost exclusively. I did however try Garrison Buddy several months ago on various toons for like 2 days, after which never again because I found it clunky. The other thing I might have screwed up on was using a Voidtalon mount farming profile with grindbot. I never used grindbot previously because I had heard it was easier to detect.

You screwed up by using the bot. Plain and simple. Not a single person on these forums can tell you what exactly they used to catch you botting, but they did. It's not really worth saying what you did with the bot at this point, reading through this thread, you can see that every aspect of the bot got people banned. From the fishers, to the grinders, to the raiders, to the garrison farmers.

Anyone that only did pvp/pve routines using Enyo/tyrael that got hit? My 10 year veteran is still kicking although I have been inactive the past 2/3 weeks

Relax. who used only TuaHa or Demonic or any other routine was banned with you.

I don't believe they're actually done sending out bans yet. They're probably doing them in chunks, a couple thousand at a time. I had 6 accounts banned yesterday, all at different times throughout the day.

The new Warden was running 4/29-5/7 anyone that had the bot on no matter what bot base was busted.
