derp..that's not the point. the points is all bots work the same way so there would be no way to single out HB just from server logs. it is a software detection 100%, could not ban that many users in one go without being sure due to risk of false positives. i'm surprised this "no detection" meme has lasted so long

Its been a week since we closed down the authentication servers for Honorbuddy. In this time, we tried to figure out what happened. We must say that we have no idea what really happened and all we have are speculations.

We speculate, that at some point, Blizzard used parts of the World of Warcraft client that acted in a hidden manner like malware. Then they scanned everything they could scan on a given computer and flagged the ones they thought were operating against their TOS/EULA. They are fine to install any such malware-type hidden software at any given time according to their End User Agreement.

There have been rumours, spread by Blizzard, that over 100,000 WOW Accounts have been banned during the ban wave on 13th May 2015 and that they are most likely all Honorbuddy users. We have to dispute this; there has never been that many active Honorbuddy users. We are still unaware if this was a real detection or some shady malware that was injected into everyones computer for a short period of time.

Be aware that we have not seen the cause of the bans. We have an anti-malware and anti-detection tool called Tripwire that aims to identify unexpected behaviour by gaming companies. We can just try to make sure, that the next time something shady has been done, that Tripwire detects it. Tripwire is the only hope we can rely on right now; it has been improved and hopefully will watch over your shoulder much better now.

Again, we will give no guarantee and we have never given a guarantee, that our software is immune to detection or bans.

Just saying.. Bossland got targetted specifically in the client code, but i'm happy that this is the fact, and not, like some rumors say, you sold out.

just remove bg buddy, have people pvp with a combat routine, eliminate the afk factor at least it will take the heat of most of us

there are also blizzard admins that uses this bot to see how the bot is being made

lol true server logs alone is not enough to single out HB,however if you look at other poss. means that they can use like tripwire logoffs and such it would not take a rocket scientist to add 1+1=2 Your other point is wrong "all bots are the same". Diff bots have slightly different injection points they use to hook in to the game client and different engines that generate the code necessary to run the bot. Blizzard has many high payed software engineers that given enough effort can pinpoint HB as a likely culprit

possible but very unlikely, would be a first time in history something like this was done on that scale. you can see the recent documented attempts to detect honorbuddy via code, someone even posted the offsets above, they were probing for a long time. occam's razor is all we need to dispose of the no detection meme. i guess it doesn't matter because at the end of the day whatever was used to detect it can be used again so it's pretty much GG

HB would have a bigger footprint in terms of profiling. All HB might use either singular or another CR, making a profile of the botter more pronounced. It is hard to say what they might have found, but it could easily have been a behavior or one of many behavior profiles unique to HB that they watched for. They could have a method for tracking garrison botter that use HB, and another for CR specific, and yet another for battle ground strategies. Lots of conjecture, but being a security analyst myself, I would look for data points like that if I couldn't scan for processes.

^^^ THIS!!

At least using enyo and combat routines your only likely to get 50% of the bg reporting you!! If my team mates were using combat routines and not afk id be happy as they would actually cc, heal and do good dmg prob better than a lot of normal players!
 
we had 3 raiders with HB 2 of them top dps always and other was best healer by a mile, HB is simply better than any human lol, maybe to fast at time though. if HB is working fine im gonna lower the enyo settings to make it less as fast.
 
since when did wowbrowser start in taskmanager at start up ? should just start when im hit the RED "?" help button ingame , or im paraniod ? but it would be too obvios. ly -.-
hope you fix it soon ^^ 6 month ban an 8 year old account ^^ my botaccount didnt get hit :S :D in blizzards support ticket i wrote down" you are retards for banning my main account and not my bot account !" they answer with, sorry ticket closed wie dont support suspended /banned accounts.

will destroy nerds with the release of honorbuddy more as before :D woot
 
this news, i didn't really was ready to hear it. can't accept it right now. its always has reason to do something, why hb is detected. my bet it's lua detection in code. i will wait for some real reasons. anyway hb team, thank you for your efforts.

why would you think money? we already have keys, our keys are still active meaning there is no need to purchase again.
