Honorbuddy Announcement 21th May 2015

Personally i think it would be nice to have a 64bit client being worked on even if they bring it back up.. they know that HB uses 32bit and anyone using it would prob already be flagged...

We've been telling them this for (atleast in my case) years now. They do what they want to do and that would take time and money.. Two places where they draw the line versus our worth.

I could be wrong, but it seems like running the battle net app might have been the way to scan our pcs. Cause there was an update and license agreement a day or so before the "event" and then oddly enough there was another battle app update a day after. Thoughts???

No, I didn´t run Battle.net app on PC that also have some banned accounts for several months.

So no clue on how? No x64? No closing to non users?

Yea fool me once....

I guess It allows you to start making money again asap right? Our accounts are paramount EXCEPT when it comes to taking extra time and measures to do so...

HB for suicide accounts at best in its current state. This happens again and you'll lose whoever you guys have left. I strongly advise/encourage you to do some major updating.
you're not the only one here. majority of people use HB for making $ and those people want it to be up and running asap.

We speculate, that at some point, Blizzard used parts of the World of Warcraft client that acted in a hidden manner like malware. Then they scanned everything they could scan on a given computer and flagged the ones they thought were operating against their TOS/EULA. They are fine to install any such malware-type hidden software at any given time according to their End User Agreement.

I suggest you look deeper into Blizzards method(s). It is highly illegal for software to scan a system outside of it's intended purpose. Blizzard Entertainment has a legal right to scan what is running within RAM, beyond that Blizzard software cannot legally scan outside of it's installed directory and is considered a Federal Offense and a violation of privacy. Also Blizzards software cannot act as a Computer Forensic Triage Tool to sniff out potentially offending software that is saved on any storage device, network, or NAS.

Sure thing. But you state the above as individual, human being with proper education, solid moral and ethic grounds.

But Blizzard Entertainment is nothing of the above. Will quote myself from yesterday in this thread, sorry about that:

Blizzard act as monopoly corporation. Which is nothing new for them - They had lawsuits against anyone, not vanished after the C&D letter by Rod Tigole.

Their famous Warden software is almost-official claimed as malware and spyware since 2005! They "detected" Glider at least 2 times with such "scans".

These links do enlighten what Blizzard used to "scan" with the Warden:

BBC NEWS | Technology | Warcraft game maker in spying row
Warden (software) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The software engineer, mentioned in the BBC news looks not like a random geek on the web too:
Greg Hoglund - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. His background into cyber security seems impressive!

So I am not skilled enough to have a valid proof about Blizzard's possible "hacking", indeed, but even after Blizzard have an official statement, that they do scan only within their own dedicated memory in RAM, I doubt their honesty!

damn need to level from 90-100 again long days beside gearing again !!! soo shit beside no gold and looms

But the question is!?

if they ban me again that will be the end !

hey bossland i hope u read this u should check helios aimbot hacks once you inject it the hack.exe wil disapear in the processen that might be a good idea for honorbuddy aswel that the honorbudd.exe wil dispear once its injected with the game? you could make it that the hack wil inject and disapear in the processen but you stil have the gui on to see honorbuddy its a mutch safer way they cant see the honorbuddy exe not in the processen that way

There are several things that they can do and have been made aware of Over the years they just ignore as it wasn't worth the time to implement apparently. None of it is foolproof but if they take sexurity as serious as they say they do they would be being proactive instead of reactive and doing everything no matter how small to make it harder for blizz.

If I ever come back to wow atleast I know everyone else can be the guinea pigs here/by then lol

If you are so displeased with BL and HB, why bother trolling?

Meh...

I see HB going the way of the HB team's Rift bot now.

A couple more banwaves and the HB team will throw in the towel, just like they did with Rift. The team admitted that they had no idea how they were being detected with that bot, too.

Meanwhile the communities suggestions aren't even being entertained. X86 cuts away 90% of the playerbase they habw to check. Open forums allows every Tom Rick and Harry to read and quote us all over and drum up curiosity/animosity, click to move and non random/hotpoints is one that may take more work to solve but is an easy one to log as well

Dunno but this will be entertaining to watch :p

Honestly, I've always had faith in the Buddy team to get things up and rolling when tripwires were launched. I always trusted they would reverse engineer whatever it was Blizzard threw at them and make the bot safe to use again, but when I see them admit to not knowing how they were detected, and it's been this long since HB has been down, then it makes me lose faith in the security of the bot.

I personally don't want to see the bot die because it's made my WoW experience far, far more enjoyable than it ever has been by playing manually, but the truth of the matter is that if they don't know how they got detected then making a few adjustments to the tripwire detection to try and make it more useful doesn't really make me feel as safe as I once did. The only way I feel I'll return to using HB and even playing WoW at all would be if they actually discovered how they were detected, definitely, and resolved that issue completely. Even then, I'd be skeptical and hesitant to use the bot again.

Just my own personal opinion since everyone else was giving theirs. I'm not even going to begin to speculate on how they were detected because I honestly couldn't begin to guess. I just know that I'm not longer playing WoW (haven't played in almost two months) and I'm no longer using HB (haven't use HB since version 784-785). Without HB this game is not playable by me due to too many disabilities that HB helped bypass.

Honestly we all know the risks of botting. If you cannot enjoy the game without the bot why even play the game at all?

That being said its your fault if you get banned not Honor buddys. Bots were made to make you gold, not to gain arena raiting.

Bots were made for throw away accounts. Where you could sell gold for a profit, not care if the account was banned because you would have 20 more.

If it helps you guys narrow anything down, I botted my balls off for years. And I wasn't careful about it. I botted like 11 characters full questing and then full PVP gear via Battlegrounds wearing shit gear. I went on hiatus a few months back, and came back and was botting similarly, days before the banwave. I was NOT banned.

That tells me there is no long list. And they had the information for days, possibly weeks before they pulled the trigger. My guess is some sort of scanning, which the terms of service grants them permission to do. If you think you're e-lawyer skills are up to the challenge, and think otherwise, feel free to sue Blizzard. If you win, I'll paypal you enough money for a case of your favorite beer.

I'm a casual botter, not a farmer. I have disabilities (i.e. vision issues, joint issues, etc) that prevent me from playing this game like a "normal" person would play (i.e. manually, without a bot). I used to play manually until my health and vision degraded. I've played WoW with HB since 2010, and I've played WoW totally since 2008, without any bans or suspensions at all. I do very little AFK botting, and when I did bot AFK I babysat the bot the entire time, not just some of the time. I loved watching what it could do. I know there are risks, and I'm okay with that, but as of right now the risks are far, far greater since Blizzard just stomped on HB the way they did. I won't be returning to WoW until HB is safe like it used to be, which may not happen. Or, it might. Who knows? Until it's safe like it used to be, before the Blizzard roflstomp on HB, I won't even really log into WoW. There's no point for ME, personally, to log in. I can't really do anything but move around and look at stuff on the AH.

Im sorry to hear that. I was just posting for all the people that used it in arena.

I see helping people out i.e farming gold/ selling it. Or in a raiding environment.

Have you tried hearthstone?
