The closed beta

is not out yet... but we're fixing some issues and hopefully it will be this weekend.

We wanted to release it last weekend but more and more bugs come as the patches come.

ATM it's looking pretty damn good. We've had to re-mesh the game a few times which takes a day per re-mesh

oh yeah...

Really hope once the Bot goes live, the PvP part won't be far behind, cause they would prolly be the main reason for me to chose the bot, the questing bot is nice also, but a PvP bot would be sweet, so i could farm warzone for gear for lvl 20/40/50 :D and the creds you get for it is also nice :D

Those of us who actually PvP really don't want the bot in PvP unless it is very very very very good. I don't like to lose especially not because of some asshat who only cares about himself; bot PvE and just buy orange gear and mods with all your credits.

Edit:

I see it as a question of ethics, and boting some pointless BS that is only there to carrot on a stick you is fine although a little on the ethically vague side, but the minute you start botting something that directly effects other players and the experience they have in game you are having a negative impact on the game -> furthermore you increase your chances of being reported.

I reported so many people using that pathetic AFK pvp bot it isn't even funny. Why? You cause a negative effect on my game experience I report you end of story. Go bot space missions where no one else has to suffer because you are an asshat.

There is one thing you can do that is going to be pretty hard for the bot, read ops chat and at least attempt do what is asked. Granted some niffty stuff could be done with RegExp pattern matches etc, but it will still be hit and miss...

That said if the bot was very very very very very very good it would not need to read ops chat it would be able to predict what node would be hit next etc

youre admitting you report other botters and even posting about it on a botting forum, if anyone is an asshat its you!

The only problem with that there is that most regular people are too retarded to do anything said in ops chat anyways so it will act just like them.

Theres a difference between afk botting and normal botting, normally the bot with a nice CC is better than some player, but joining a bg and going afk is the worst thing u could do for ur team..

I think we have a difference of definition here.
An anti-AFK tool is by no means a Bot since it doesn't automate anything. Therefore there is no such thing as "AFK botting", there is just "using a tool to prevent going AFK". Reporting people that do that isn't the same as reporting a botter.

I still think it's a slippery slope though, to start reporting people because you think it's ethically wrong to use an anti-AFK tool, whilst you yourself do use a bot. I don't think any of us are allowed to question game ethics.

this might be a stupid question but would it be possible to write scripts which would collect datacrons on each planet? i know you could write the movement up easily enough but it is my understanding that some datacrons require you to have certain items, would it be possible to program the bot to recognize that this item is not in the inventory and go and collect it?
 
Most of the time, datacrons are hidden and arent easy to reach, maybe later, but currently its not possible.

yea but the hidden ones are just hard to reach and there are guides on how to reach them surely you could bot them just put waypoints really close together so there is no error? or not?

I would think with all the jumping and moving and tricks that a lot of the datacrons require it would be extremely difficult to have that run reliably.

To sumarize:
The ones that you'd want the bot to do are probably too hard to script.
The ones that are easy to script are probably the ones you'll do yourself. :)
 
i need a warzone bot, the data crons are fun and interesting things to do .... you need a bot for the repetative bullshit over and over .... thanks tho you guys that make sure these bots keep working save my wfie agrro ass!!!
