Buddy Store, the prices are insane!

This is the same think I had the first time I opened the buddy store.

I also think that if we had lower price the developers could earn more selling more things

Most of the stuff you find on Buddy Store is the result of hundreds of hours spent in coding. You shall also consider that you don't pay only the work, but even the knowledge behind it: when you go to your favourite restaurant you don't pay only for the food, but even for the chef skills!
If you want to save money just learn to code down what you like.

Lowering the price to increase customers is a developer's choice. If you sell a premium/elite product it can't be for everyone, simply because if all of us use the same cheap "OMG-this-is-so-cool" cr/plugin/botbase, where is the advantage in buying it? Think about a premium gathering profile (ok, not so difficult to write, but it takes time as well): there isn't any sense to buy it even at 1$ if thousand of botters use it.

Lets see, people spend years learning to code, then months, weeks updating their products, writing code, and testing. Here is a solution, learn to do it yourself, then let's see how valuable it is. Quite frankly, those of you whining about the price of products, they were never designed for you. Most paid products are for the professional botters, not the weekenders.

+1

True, I see my friend coding for hours for a small Iphone app that will be sold for a few bucks, it's depressing ^^
The authors sell at the price they want, if you don't value it, don't buy it !

i just wana know how i can sell my private mop profiles as a big pack, now when WOD is comming out. (my wod profiles will be private for as long as wod is current :) )

+ im allso working on a public full automatic skinning lvl'er that will farm mats for LW, for the LW profile wich is on the store.

buddystore is a joke, it maybe ok for small botters, who bot 1-3-5 accounts, but for those with 20+ it's not cool for sure.

So if you guys say the prices are too high, which prices would you say are better suited , how much would you be willing to pay for which kind of product?

None of the prices are to bad

The people who are crying about high prices are the ones who dont want to pay for anything. If honorbuddy had a free version they would be using that.

Do you spend 5 years writing profiles now ? Do you live off writing profiles ? Or did you acquire said skills for job purposes and this is a hobby income ?
Either side of the coin, you got free money for just learning a job, everyone has to. Other side, you didn't and learned a profession while getting donations while having 2nd income and now suddenly have a job getting paid 100k euro / year.

Don't sit up there on some high horse crying how the world is unfair. Grow up.

WoW I just got dumber by reading this post. So you are saying anyone who like's working and gets paid for it should get paid nothing? Sounds to me you want everything for free. Guess what buddy life aint going to give you anything for free learn to work for it. Its great that guys like you are not paying for these cheap and great services on the buddy store otherwise you will abuse it. Poor man Poor life.

Keep it up guys, great work and very cheap services. One day these kids will get out of their mums basement and get a job so they can afford the better things in life.

All these new members crying over so many things. Where did they all come from, that monthly subscription is bringing in a lot of newbies who by the looks of it have no clue how to bot. The Ban section is getting larger and larger each day... lol

As a Veteran botter and long time forum speaker I can see so many problems coming. :(

Whoever thinks the prices (most of them at least - 95% of the products) are over-priced, has obviously never worked as a software developer.

Granted many of the HB developers you see here are "hobby" developers... but even so, software development is NOT a minimum wage job, even at the entry level. 22 years ago when I got my first job as a "programmer" (as we were called then), I was offered $20 per hour. For a 18yo kid, thats a good start (or was 20 years ago anyway). Now I bill out at $175/hr as a senior software engineer, and I can tell you without a doubt that the prices for these routines are downright cheap.

Furthermore... I have my own routine for Rogue, as thats what I played mostly back in the day. I may update it for the new patches, but I would never sell it. No way. Its WAY too valuable to me for being so unique. If I were to sell it, I would put a price tag of $200+ on it. Why? Because the more people that use it, the less unique it would be, and the more chance it will be detected as a bot. That is why I will likely never sell even at that price. I just purchased Tuan's routine package, and will see how it does now... then decide if I want to keep up with my own or not. But thats nether here nor there :)

Point of that totally rambling story is this: If its to expensive for you, don't buy it. Easy. If you do not buy it, its just that much more valuable to the others who have, since the more people that use it the more likely its little quirks will be detected as a "bot" by someone or something.

Oh, and ... even at my starting wage of $20/hr from 20 years ago, it would take hundreds of sales to pay me for the hours spent in developing it. So at $18 or so USD its a steal IMHO.

Thats it Frosty :) If you dont like it dont buy it.... End of Story....You already have a base to go from HB Base and Singular. Dont want to pay more for a better one dont come crying on the forums about things being over priced. I spend over $22,000 on a custom made software for my business and people are crying over $19 piece of software so they can afk and do nothing.

I buy everything I can get my hands on for HB as I know the creators are placing their heart and soul into a great piece of art which will help me out in the long run.

You wanting a rogue routine. For pvp or pve for pvp id say get vitalic its the best

So if you guys say the prices are too high, which prices would you say are better suited , how much would you be willing to pay for which kind of product?

this depends on the profile. there are profiles that definitely are worth the price, but there are also a lot of profiles which are way too expensive in regard to how little they do/how bad they are.

but i think this is going to regulate itself, as not many people will buy expensive profiles that aren't worth the money (or people will find a way to get them without paying at all). other profiles however will be bought like crazy because the price justifies what you get for it and they are great. millz is a perfect example for brilliant profiles, in time updates (hell, his profiles were updated within hours after the patch) and the price is more than fair. his profiles is something i would spend my money over and over again without hesitating a second. same for oracle II. all the other profiles -- not a single penny from me, sorry. either too expensive or just too bad to spend money on them.

Its like any product you sell if you are not making sales due to prices you lower it. I only buy the good ones the bad ones will sit there and rot just like any other product if you dont want to place the time and effort into something why should your customer?

Well as far as routines go there all good

Ill take a look.

I am pretty sure that for rogue at least I will be revamping my own routine tho... 2 years ago (last time I used it) it was 1000% better than anything else out there. But there have been a LOT of changes, so ill play around with what others have done first, then decide.

And yes Shelaine, that has ALWAYS been the case with open markets. And always will. The minute you start regulating what people can charge for the products they make, its no longer an open market. It would help a ton to have a formal feedback system (1-5 star) like the Android store does for instance, but without that you can just check the products official thread for comments, or wait until you have a couple days free and do the 2 day free trial to test things before purchasing.

+1 on the Ranking system for the Buddy Store!

It's this piss poor attitude by people that result in the majority of my most recent profiles being private. In a lot of cases, the best things made for this bot you will never even hear about.

If most of you had a 1 day pass to the Dev channel, you would understand how much work goes on in the background you know nothing about.

Couldn't have been said better! +rep

Ya vitalic rogue is by far the best pvp routine its the only routine vitalic works on i could basicLly 2v1with it till 1800maybe 1900

you couldn't be any more wrong. look at the code of some of the routines... their work is so ragged, it's insane. that's where all those routines with a terrible bottish behavior come from - from people who don't know how to code properly. those are routines you easily get banned for if you aren't monitoring them 100% of the time. this isn't something people should pay for. then take a look at the actual good routines. the difference is crazy. it's not hard to find out which routines are worth their money and which aren't.
