Whoever thinks the prices (most of them at least - 95% of the products) are over-priced, has obviously never worked as a software developer.
Granted many of the HB developers you see here are "hobby" developers... but even so, software development is NOT a minimum wage job, even at the entry level. 22 years ago when I got my first job as a "programmer" (as we were called then), I was offered $20 per hour. For a 18yo kid, thats a good start (or was 20 years ago anyway). Now I bill out at $175/hr as a senior software engineer, and I can tell you without a doubt that the prices for these routines are downright cheap.
Furthermore... I have my own routine for Rogue, as thats what I played mostly back in the day. I may update it for the new patches, but I would never sell it. No way. Its WAY too valuable to me for being so unique. If I were to sell it, I would put a price tag of $200+ on it. Why? Because the more people that use it, the less unique it would be, and the more chance it will be detected as a bot. That is why I will likely never sell even at that price. I just purchased Tuan's routine package, and will see how it does now... then decide if I want to keep up with my own or not. But thats nether here nor there
Point of that totally rambling story is this: If its to expensive for you, don't buy it. Easy. If you do not buy it, its just that much more valuable to the others who have, since the more people that use it the more likely its little quirks will be detected as a "bot" by someone or something.
Oh, and ... even at my starting wage of $20/hr from 20 years ago, it would take hundreds of sales to pay me for the hours spent in developing it. So at $18 or so USD its a steal IMHO.
