Botanist, I like your projects and I support you in what you do, but some of the points you make, as well as the way you state them is way off...

You can't expect an average person to know what it take to make a profile. You said that if someone had even a 1 day pass to the dev channel it would open our eyes. Well guess what? That channel isn't offered to the average user, so there's no reason that anyone would know or care. Also keep in mind that the general public would be your biggest buyers. Why would you tell them they're all idiots? You've already lost several potential customers from the way you've come across in this thread.

You also said that a huge portion of the awesome stuff out there would never make it to the public. Why would you do that to yourself? If you're in this to make money, and from the way you've been posting here, you clearly are, why wouldn't you release your most awesome projects to the public? If it's so good, people will clearly pay for it. Even if only 1 person buys the project, you still have more money than you started with.

My big thing with the store right now isn't the prices, it's a lack of a feedback system, the piss poor refund system, the huge number of people having issues with the system and the fact that Bossland isn't enforcing its rules and making developers provide support for their products.

The prices have actually come down since it was first released. It was funny to see people posting CR's for 60 euro. In less than a week, those prices dropped dramatically, in some cases, 66-75%.

tbh a lot of the routines and botbases on there are not that great. wasn't impressed at all with the BGFarmer botbase. only did the one day trial but you could still easily see who else was using BGFarmer and it still acted..botlike. BGBuddy is fine as long as your blacklist IoC and AV.

a lot of the combat routines aren't supper fantastic either. they won't get you to 1800, 1900 or 2000+ CR. honestly i used Millz Demonic on my warlock and it was OK, but i used Singular on my warrior and it was just as good.

I may have been on the other end of this argument when i started here in 2011 after Pirox, but now after releasing my own profiles i have to say it is so much work. I worked on my profiles for the community day after day not realizing i was ignoring my family and spend a huge portion of my free time working on them. I had profiles that had 10k downloads or more, in the end all that work i was given $30 in a years time.

After that i can't complain about the prices. My time means a lot to me and i would rather even buy some products then spend the time to make them myself. I very highly respect the developers that work so hard to give us quality products. I believe that most of them deserve what they are charging, but i also expect as the expansion continues prices will level out.

Why would you expect to get that high with a CR? I only use CR's for damage the rest is up to you. I got 2400 easy with mills warlock but I also am pro at playing my lock and ccing when needed. NEVER rely on the bot 100% and dont blame the CR for not getting high as people have got Glad with his including me. CR's are only there so you dont have to keep mashing keys to keep dps up thats it.

I make custom profiles for people when I'm bored. I don't expect anything from it because I was bored and went into it with the mindset that it was going to be free.
Let us look at the flip side of that; each free profile is downloaded XXXX number of times (if posted in a "public" forum) and then given out.

The buddy store allows integrated means of distributing profiles/plugins/routines/botbases in a controlled environment to the extent that the work will not be "handed out" at the discretion of the user. The point of this whole thing seems to be lost on people. Bot is a product of his region, and his words used are simply a means of expressing; though crass around the edges at times, they merely go to illustrate the annoyance.

Money is time. Developers put in TONS of time. Buy them lunch, stop crying, or write your own and fully remove yourself from the argument initially.

Not overpriced at all, I'm actually surprised they don't charge a monthly fee rather than a 1 time price for the lifetime of the product. Singular works pretty well but the support and quality you get from people like TuanHA/Mill/Mirabis/etc is well worth the money. Not sure I'd cash out for some of the profiles but there are some BotBases, plugins and CRs that I happily buy, even if it's just to support the developers who contribute so much to the HB community.

Not saying that other devs are doing a bad job, but the support that Bobby53 puts into Singular should be an example to every developer. Singular is the most supported, quickest responded to and best handled support out there. Bobby53 has always done amazing work for HB and other devs should take note.

He's crying he had to spend years upon years to create just one tiny profile and the world is so unfair cause only X amount of people payed for it and bla blah blah fucking blah blah.

This is the reality....either he learned to code growing up, in school as a means to learn a profession, a job... And all income from this is a 2nd HOBBY income...While he has all the right to charge whatever the fuck he wants, he doesn't have the right to sit on some high horse crying how he was forced to learn how to code and nobody wants to pay for it.... Supply and demand...

Or you reverse it...he was a garbage truck driver who had a passion for botting which enabled him to learn to code over the years and now he has the skills to easily get a paying job, well worth over 100k euro a year.

In both scenarios he's still having 2 incomes and no right to cry that people dont wanna pay for his products.

And he doesn't spend 5 years writing shit now... One time knowledge barrier, thats it.

For reference, i have never used anything from botanist and doubt i'll have any reason to do so in the future.
I'v also donated to several com devs and also bought private profiles, written my own etc.

Ha, poor wording on my part. Bobby does a fantastic job with Singular, and I've used it to level all my characters who were botted. However, he does do the leg work for ALL classes and ALL specs. The other developers usually put a lot more time and effort into only a few specs/classes and are able to produce more complex logic, better UIs and field far fewer support questions / issues. Would never want to put down all the hard work that goes into singular, but its far larger than most other CR projects.

I'm giving credit to the CR developer who deserves it the most IMHO. I am sorry for expressing my opinion, I was under the impression that this was a free forum and not one under the tyranny of our lord dictator ryftobuddy.

Ok, on that note, why don't you explain who and why the other CR developers deserve more credit than Bobby? Saying that someone that manages 1 CR deserves more credit than someone that manages the CR's for every class seems a little silly to me.

The difference between Singular and almost every other CR is that Singular works in every situation. It may not always be the best solution for pushing top-tier content, but it will always work.

Since the products are streamed via the buddy store, it does not seem like too much of a stretch that they would be able to control the usage time. My suggestion is that the Devs. provide time packages that caps at or near what their cap prices are now for the "Extreme I run this on 60 accounts 24/7" guy and scales to a more realistic price for the weekend warrior. This was the Devs appeal to a broader client base without much extra effort, and still receive some adequate compensation for their time and efforts. Offer an unlimited usage(30$ or something appropriate) and a 8hrs a week usage(for say$5) and maybe something in between, or something along those lines.
Just my 2 cents. I know when I use profiles/CRs ect to farm the price is pretty much an afterthought. but I cringe every time I pay $20+ for something that I am just messing around with on one of my play accounts.

The thing about singular is it performs amazing in most situations you just need to tell Bobby what you want. That dude is literally constantly updating. I tanked Blood DK with singular forever! he changed everything i asked for usually next push within 2-3 days.
