Sharing my own ideas, and my own history with honorbuddy.
First of all, i got banned too in this banwave.
I personally think that it's impossible to "not risk" the account, while u bot, but i think that the war between "casuals" and "gold sellers" it's useless for all of us. Anyone has his own expectations and needs for this bot. I'd just want to share my ideas and suggestions about it. I hope u'll read this without any kind of prejudice.
Personally, i am a "casual" botter. But for "casual" i mean, i just farm starlight roses (and something else, depends on the character) to make gold for potions, foods, etc. and to buy mounts, equipment for alts, leveling alts...so...these things. I don't really use the bot 24/7 but maybe: in the morning i go out for work and i put the bot to farm / level / world quests, in the afternoon i usually raid (heroic / mythic content) and on the evening i put it again sometimes, for like 1-2 hour, and meanwhile i do other things (reading, tv, etc.) and then i usually play or i just shut it off. So this is my "personal", more or less, usage. Maybe when i'm out all day i just put a char to level or something less farm-oriented. I usually don't think i could have the same impact since the farming needed (gold, ap artifact, world quests, etc.) is very hard to do by hand if u have job, sons, etc.
So, basically, in my server, with my usage, i would not have a huge impact on economy. In fact, i just spend all the money i've gathered for me or for my guild members if needed. I even buy sometimes mount and cosmetics from blizzard shop, and sometimes i even pay the monthly subscription without the token.
If we think that blizzard thinks only at moneymaking, why would she ban a player like me? Cause if i stop playing, it's only money loss for her. And, like i said, honestly, other players can only be envious of me cause i'm "rich" in the game. Do we think that blizzard has that morality built in herself? I personally don't think so. I don't spam at four winds: "Hey guys, i'm a bot, so look at my dreadfang widow now!"

so people can't even know about that.
Now let's analyze that for a gold seller. A gold seller basically don't "play" the game. Or at least, he plays that for one account. But for the other 20-30 accs, he just doesn't play it.
I absolutely respect them, cause they can do what they want, and they took the risk of that business on their hands. If they got a ban, they just buy another account, and the game continues.
Let's analyze that for blizzard: here she can make a lot of money, no matter what. If she bans 20 accounts, the gold sellers buys another 20, so she earns like 30 euros x 20 istantly, plus the tokens, etc. while they bot at it. There's no morality about that. I don't think blizzard bans for morality questions, she just had found a way to make more money. If blizzard had some kind of morality, she'd just permaban any botter or gold seller, or account seller, etc...
So, why i just put all this poem on that thread, u would ask me?
That's my suggestion, at the community and at the developers, as i'm very satisfied at what the bot gave to me: lot of mounts, fun, progress...could not be more happy about that. I just couldn't think at WoW without the bot.
Instead of dividing us in two factions:
- 1) Casuals: Gold Sellers are shit! My main account was banned! I could do Guldan Mythic that night! Honorbuddy is shit! No protection! Cryyyyy ç_ç
- 2) Gold Sellers: You casuals are shit! U take the risk when you bot! I'm already botting again without any kind of protection! Fuck you crybabies! Go and kill these retarded mechanic bosses by your hand! OT (Yeah, nighthold it's pretty easy, i can tell you that)

OT finished.
Why don't we see that we need two different type or products?
I mean, as a casual, i just need maybe...4-5 hours of botting per day, maybe...8 at maximum, and sometimes i'll just close it for a while...when i' won't have nothing to do.
For the other side, as a gold seller, i'd need a program that could be as fastest compatible as possible for the newest patches.
Should we split the bot in two different type of product?
Like:
Bot A) Less intrusive, more protected. Maybe slower in the actions, more human like as possible, maybe for a limit of usage per day. A built in protection that auto-update for warden's detection. I don't know anything about programming, so i could easily have written blasphemous things XD forgive me.
Bot B) Fastest as possible, updated as possible. More money profit maker as possible. Protection? What matters to me? In 2 months i can do more than blizzard bans do. Of course not 0 protection...
I just put my thoughts after another ban. As i said, i'm very satisfied for what honorbuddy gave to me in these years. For now i'm taking a break. Maybe i'll play wow by my hands...or maybe i'll just play something else.
But remember: the more we are divided in factions, the more blizzard can defeat us. Forgive my English if it's not perfect. ^_^
