I have noticed one particularly interesting issue since my last post in regard to the current topic of barb discussion. Even several weeks ago I noticed it, but only recently have I noticed that it is a pattern, and I am curious if anyone else has noticed this as well. It appears that I have a much greater chance of death (mortality) when going up against Blood Clan Occultist elites. In fact, the vast majority of the deaths which I observe are due to these mobs. Previously I had thought to myself, maybe it's just a more difficult mob, and they have that shield shit too. But recently I began to notice that the bot, in fact, appears to act differently when fighting them. Reasonably, the mortality increases rather drastically when they have an affix such as jailer or fire chains +/- extra health +/- health link. But it seems that regardless of the status of wotb, the bot preferentially bashes them, rather than ww. I don't know if may be due to the fact that these mobs like to run away, their shield shit, or something else. Can anyone comment on their observations with this?
Side note: Since my last post I have switched to dual wield with skills: Bash(punish), ww (hurricane), wotb (ToC), sprint (RltW), war cry (impunity), battle rage (into the fray) with passives ruthless, weapon master, and superstition.
Edit: Just watched this event occur again, except this time, WOTB was active, and my barb was bashing the blood clan occultists to death, rather than using ww. Could this be an issue with the min trash mob pack size or trash pack cluster radius perhaps? I would reason not, due to these mobs being elites, but I'm not the one who designed the combat system
Edit^2: Just watched this occur again, but with one key difference, whenever either all 3 of the mobs were close in proximity to one another, or when other trash packs approached, my barb switched from bashing to wwing until either mobs were killed or ran apart.
As I briefly referenced in my initial topic, this only appears to be fatal when some combination of plagued / fire chains /
jailer / reflect damage(?), exacerbated by affixes such as extra health, health link, electrified, and extra fast. I'm not try to make a big deal of a minor issue, but that is quite a number of affixes to consider. Additionally, if someone has any in-game solutions to potentially fix this, I'd love to hear that as well.
