I have seen good and bad come out of this post and to be clear something has to be done. 2 ban waves in a few month period only shows that more is being done on the blizz side and less on the HB side. a lot of us don't want to give up but as I posted before simple things like all the lfr's scripted and a better functioning bot would only make perfect sense. Improve this bot or watch it go down in flames up to you devision to help your user base that's only shown support from day one.
 
For me, the wow client itself runs significantly better as 64bit. comparitively wow 32bit runs like dogs**t. I'm not someone who purely bots on their PC so this means when I am playing I have to experience that dogs**t performance. This for me is a HUGE reason for HB to go 64bit. If you run a completely stock UI then you probably wont notice, install a few addons for raiding, auctioning and just general playability and you most certainly will.

As for security, im happy with tripwire etc that they are doing what they can. 64bit isnt something I'm concerned about security wise

HB devs dont want to maintain 2 versions, I agree that makes sense... so migrate to 64bit and bin off the 32bit version. Someone here actually said that people cant afford 64bit systems, I would absolutely laugh my face off at that, do you not realise how long things have been 64bit. 64bit processors went on sale in 2003 and their 32bit variants stopped being sold shortly after. So even if you had managed to still buy a 32bit processor in 2005 you would be trying to run wow on an 11 year old machine, which wouldnt be worth trying anyway. Windows XP released in a 64bit version because processors were 64bit back then already but the driver support was lousy so it wasn't adopted. Thats a whole OS released and retired in the time that 64bit has been around.

HB devs will have to make the switch eventually, imo now is the best time to do it. The bot is stable, its not needing continual firefighting fixes. Once the new expansion launches its going to be back into constantly having to fix things for a significant period of time, whether its the core or quest behaviors and CRs. Its better to get ahead of this. IF blizzard decided to no longer release 32bit builds of wow at Legion launch they would be totally caught with their pants down and are they in a good position to pay their staff for a few months with no new subscription money coming in

It also sounds like HB devs have built up a switch to 64bit quite significantly, But its not an insurmountable task and it'll probably go quicker once they are into the swing of it but right now its just easier to put it off, Starting now they could start on it and progress steadily, doing all that decompiling and analysis now, identifying the bits they would want to work with and what parts of HB would need to be updated.

Dont get me wrong if if there is some huge massively desirable feature just around the corner that working on a 64bit version would hold up, then sure i like shiny new stuff too but it seems like HB is more in a stage of being polished and maintained.
 
Will honorbuddy ever respond to us asking to pay a monthly fee so they can hire more dev's?

Monthly fee will not magically earn us more. We believe our business model is better then any subscription based model. The amount of people using the bot for a few months then dropping it is lot more then loyal customers.

That is a good point. We might consider a lightweight 64b version of HB just for rotation kind usage for raiding and pvping to begin with.

Perhaps people might stay longer if the quality of the game and the bot (no pass agress, just being honest)

That would be awesome- and a really good start, I'm sure there are some really good CR devs that would love to get on board with you guys with this. If you do go down this path- May I suggest to have a closed BETA first before letting the cat out the bag.. You can be sure the first post on release is "How do I quest with this bot".....
 
Yes I see that as being a good foot forward if you are indeed willing to open up a light version of the 64 bit but as seen in the past things that the user base would love to have never get here or take forever. Answer me this why hasn't all current progress been scripted say for instance all the lfr's all current cheves and so on? In the past this all would of ben done a few months after current content dropped and it took you guys almost the whole xpack just to script brf lfr's. Hellfire lfr's aren't even touched and that's the most current and not to mention the most logical due to the boost blizz gives. It put's you at 640 right out of the gate. so having hfc lfr's done would help a lot of botters out. Just wondering why all of the drop off. Why all the lack of development of current progress and why the lack of measures being taken to improve the bot? All I see is people complaining that nothing is being done and those kind of post either get closed or ignored by staff. I am just trying to understand if it has come to the point that money is not being made and maybe its time to think about a different direction or a different bot entirely? Seems to me blizz has done everything to stop you but you have done little besides tripwire to stop them and to me tripwire is by no means safe. I had friends who botted for a few years through cata and mop and never got caught then wod hits and everyone is being nailed within months from the last time. You see my concern when nothing is stable and people that aren't selling gold or items or accounts that just use the bot to play are loosing everything would be worth if I could go a year without being caught like the old days but now I worry day in day out and yes you nay sayers I know you will eventually get caught but not on a monthly basis so please help us help you in trying to find out what you are doing to help this community? sorry for the long rant.

I really do appreciate you and HB engaging with the community on this. I know there are a lot of tosses who are just mongs and create/spread trouble for no reason.

Do you feel honorbuddy will see any radical improvements in the coming months or will it be more of the same?

I know a lot of the developers have either left or are really unhappy with the terms of the buddystore; any plans to work with individual developers more to ensure dev's stay with the community? Alisha for example is someone to me who needs to be looked after; Garrisonboss (Goldboss now) is an amazing tool that's be developed and looked after phenomenally.

Make people pay for access to the 64-bit, maybe? Within your current business model of course. I would never buy a hack/bot that had a subscription business model. That way the development of the 64-bit might feel a bit more worth it, and those who want the improved performance in raids for use with rotations will be able to purchase it.

I am also willing to pay for additional features or a "possibly" safer bot. But that model that you are implying, is kind of detrimental to multibot users.

There is a recent trend of noob users who apparently think they are " good botters" because they don't farm gold or multibot; which is so ridiculous that is not worth talking about.

Let's ask Hb who is the good botter here, ok? the one with 1 license used to pretend to be good at a game (raiding or pvp), or the one who has 50 licenses for profit?

Those who own several official licenses ( I personally have more than 10, and know some others who claim to have much bigger numbers) have been the ones supporting HB all along the road. If anyone wants to support them, the way is clear. Buy some more licenses.

Using a system like the one you are proposing wouldn't be fair to them.

Also, I would definitely not pay extra for a 'safer' bot. I know 64-bit wont be safer, but if they made it safer (somehow) for the sole purpose of selling more, I would boycott HB immediately. I'm assuming a lot of people and the HB devs would feel the same, considering they seem to care about their customers account safety. I would pay for the increased performance though, even if it might be negligible.

I did, in fact, misread your post. My apologies.

Part of the feeling of "more safety" that would come from a 64b Hb would be, in my opinion, due to indirect bot finding. That is, not Hb being detected, but reports, Gm's "manually" Id'ing bots, and that sort of things.

If you have 5m accounts, and only 500k are using 32b and due to that are susceptible to be botting (for Blizzard, as Raphus informed; as 64b detection is not active) those in charge of locating those accounts have a much easier time. It would be quite easy to id the accounts using 32b, so that anytime that the GM inspect one account, check if that account is 64 or 32, and there you have a clear indicator.

Reports are easier to understand: accounts 1-10 are reported. 2 of them are using 32 bits. The focus of the Gm goes straight into them. I guess, that in that situation, everybody would want their accounts to be 64b.

Bigger pool of possible botters, less chance of being indirectly found.

How is proper grammar or paragraphs not allowing you to read what is important or like I said before you just read what you wish and answer what you like and all others get ignored. And ill believe when I see it when it comes to improvements. It has been a entire year and this bot has gone to hell in a hand bag. between loosing key cr developers or not getting any half way decent support besides the copy and paste crap that happens every time someone has a issue. So again ill believe it when I see it you had a whole year to fix the common issues but fail to even address them.
