Redirect when clicking links

Okay foam_follower I definitely see what you mean now.

1. Google
2. search "honorbuddy"
3. click on the 2nd link. Voila you're at that file123 junk site.

Notice the URL at the bottom left compared to the URL the google search says it's displaying as a link. cute.

2nd one. Different search and different link. http://i.imgur.com/8Q36G.jpg

So the Issue is google, not HB forums?

I've never experienced it, im using Opera and i have HB saved as one of my speed dials.

The truth is that I have no idea what the cause is. I get it in Chrome / Safari / Konqueror (Suse linux) and IE.

So there's not a lot at the user level that we can do to avoid it?

I've blocked the site at the router level so I just end up with a blank page. It's more of an irritation than anything else. It's not actually crippling. I simply reload the page.

I've been experiencing this over the past 6 days or so, had it happen on 3 separate computers. it sure does look fishy though.

Tony, did you do anything to your system(s) to relieve the problem? Or did you fix it some other way?

Only from Google but as you see I have links to HB on both my bookmarks (homepage) and favourites bar. So the reflex action of clicking either of those can, and often does result in an unwanted redirect. An the fact that it happens on a factory default PC indicates that it seems to come from elsewhere other than the PC its self.

same here it only happens in google. if i do a google search for the forum. and click a link the first time i click it it is always a phising link that when i click back asks me if i want to leave page or say. if i go back one more time and click the link again it is always the phising one, if i only go back one page and then try the forum again it always works.

does it happen with an secure browser like Chrome ?

I am using Chrome since years :]

There are no exceptions. It happens cross platform and cross browser. I've personally had it on Suse Linux using Konquerer and Windows using Chrome, IE9, Safari and Firefox. I'm told by a friend (I can't verify) that it even happens on the Nintendo Wii and iPad.

I'm getting around it by manually typing in the URL to here. I do that for everything anyway, but it works for me..
