[Party Plugin] SimpleFollow - Multi-Bot Party Plugin

I also used to use this without a bot on my follower, since I run my bot on a different LAN (and because I only have 1 bot account). I really need a plugin/feature to do one of 3 things : 1) invite friends, 2) not kick group at the end of every run, or 3) Allow quick join. I've searched for hours, so if anyone knows a way to do any of these things, feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Edit: I would totally buy another account if there was a way to get a bot to follow me around as followers. Sounds possible using blank combat routines/profiles, and just having DB send coordinates and such to the follower(s).

That is exactly what you need to do to have it follow a human, I have done that before the with the old simplefollow and blank profiles. (Bottom of page 55) Not sure if it works with new stuff yet, should, let us know.. :D

This bot does not automatically invite who is on the friends list. The client(followers) Demonbuddy sends a command to the server(leader) via ip(or localhost) basically saying "invite me" then the bot invites. If you want to follow along as a human you dont really need this plugin, you can just join and follow. This is for botting as followers.

Thanks Drazz - very close :)

Some clarity on what, exactly, happens:

1) The follower (client) will connect to the Leader (server)
2) The follower will tell the leader "I am not in your game, please send invites"
3) The leader will open the Social window, and look for any of the top four "Invite Friend to game" buttons. It does NOT look at the order of the buttons - it is always the first four, and it does not distinguish by name or BattleTag. It simply looks to see if any of the top 4 "Invite to Game" buttons are visible and clickable
4) If an Invite to game button is visible, it will click it
5) The follower will now see a "Join Game" (green check icon) button and click it to join the game

When In the same game:
6) The Leader will send it's current world, position coordinates, combat class and max health to the follower, so the follower can find the leader in the object manager
7) If the leader is too far away to appear on the object manager, the follower will try it's best to either navigate to the leader, or take a town portal to use the banner (Teleport to player coming soon)
8) If the leader appears in the object manager as an "actor", the follower will read the exact coordinates out of the game and follow the leader (not using the coordinates the leader sent over the wire)

The requirements are:
Both "Players" are running Demonbuddy with SimpleFollow Plugin installed and Enabled
The follower is running the SimpleFollow.xml / SimpleFollow_PowerLevel.xml profile
The leader is NOT running the SimpleFollow profile
The leader is in game, the bot is started
The follower is either in game or out of game, and the bot is started
The follower is on the Leader's friends list, in one of the top 4 friend positions

If ANY of these conditions are not true, this plugin will not work.

The "Leader" can run a "combat only" profile with combat completely disabled, see: http://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonb...32380-trinity-compatible-combat-profiles.html

There currently is no way for the bot to "do combat" and have the human control all movement. It is either:
1) The leader bot controls everything running a typical Demonbuddy profile
2) The leader bot controls combat and combat movement when using a combat profile (but no "profile" movement)
3) The leader bot does not do any combat or movement

Follower bots will always attempt to follow and perform typical combat (unless using the "PowerLevel" profile where combat is disabled).

There is currently no way to have the bot only cast spells/attack without moving - however I DO plan on adding this soon.

Hopefully this clarifies!

Yeah, thanks, that was actually EXACTLY what I said without going into all the detail you did (Was your point 1 & 2).. It was just a discussion: some people were saying the invites were automatic, I said they invites are initiated by the followers saying "invite me" (basically) via ip/server (mine are set on multiple pc so they send to the server/leader via ip in URI setting) and then the leader invites and Taozi told me I was wrong. But ok. :)

Thanks rrrix

Rrrix,

I am having a slight problem though, when running the simplefollow my bots are getting lag spikes now. Does not happen during combat, manly when the leader is moving across a map or something, as if they are sending cords too frequently or requesting cords too much? (Not sure though, I did not have time to do any troubleshooting or get logs last night - it was late by the time I got everything setup). I check it out some more when I get home from work tonight, Blizz was down for maint when I left this morning. I did have all 4 of my team running together w/o lag before this 2.0 patch.

Thanks as always bud!

I have issues and crashes often with naked followers powerleveling 1-60 runs, errors after interact with banner and crashes every 30-60 min when entering in a game (follower only) but new version is working fine, not fully AFKable but nice version.

Me too, i need to run some performance analysis. It happens when running 4 bots for me, no idea why yet.

I'm also getting crashes but haven't had a chance to look at my logs yet. Are you running yours with R-YAR? If not can you attach your "errors" log?

rrrix.. I got a network of computers running atm. sadly i cant get this plugin to work from leader (on one computer) and the followers on another. Could you please explain how it could be done so i can try to fix this so i can run my bots in a group instead of solo games, since of the xp buff we get until ros comes out.

Someone described it somewhere in this thread.

Essentially, open SimpleFollow.cs, find where it has "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" and change it to the IP address of your LAN interface on the leader.

On the follower bots, set it to the leader LAN ip address (not the IP the follower has).

I didn't add this in the UI or instructions because I don't support this, and that's about as much instruction as i'm going to give. I don't teach networking :)

good luck

Tia, Rrrix,
Page 55 of this forum I wrote a simple guide to setting up network followers.. This does work with all the new versions as well, I run all 4 of mine together on separate PCs... :)

Happy Hunting

No, the bot does not just follow players in the team. The follower(s) are given the cords via server from the leader telling the followers where the leader is at. The followers either using localhost or IP to communicate with the leader. The bot does not follow the pixels that make up your character :)

Note - You CAN have it following a human designated as the leader, but you will need demonbuddy running with a blank profile & simplefollow plugin to communicate with the follower(s) sending the cords to tell them where it is.

so what i understand i need to run demonbuddy with a combat profile and the human which i want to follow my friend who is playing manually must have too demonbuddy that i can follow him but i dont want that he knows that i bot so it is not possible or to follow my friend only with a combat profile`?sry for my bad english

Nope.. This plugin is dependent on the leader to be running demonbuddy&simplefollow.

Is this plugin working atm? Can I use this to invite my friend lets say #2? He is human player without the bot, I was hoping this plugin would send invite to him but no luck

Hi havent tried this out yet but is there a way to:

Have a follower that's basically a mule for legendaries? as in - solely follow the leader and not attack? And occasionally pick up legendaries if they drop?

Not at all.. Just like having another player in the game with you.. Bot has full functions as it was the main player, it attacks, buffs, picksup stuff, etc... Whatever you need it to do.

Yes it is working, and thats not what it is for. It is a follower bot that iniates the leader to invite it via server on leader. (But Taozi may tell you I dont know what I am talking about) but you can refer to the previous page to get the exact specs in detail from the man who wrote the plugin. (Page 61 - Post 603)

A common misconception with this plugin. Simple"follow". :) This plugin is intended for additional bot(s) to follow your main bot. People asking often about bot inviting human players and friends, etc. Maybe one day when things slow down, someone can make a "Friend Inviter" plugin. (Not exactly sure how it work, if it can see a certain message or something to initiate an invite or something). Although it wont really hurt my feelings if not, I have no desire at all to use something like that, but apparently other people do.

Ok thanks for the reply. :) Situation where autoinvite would be nice; lets say I bot 247 and Im the party leader ofc. I could setup my plugin to send invite when my run starts. My human player friend joins if he wants, and follows the bot and fights with it. I often "forget" the bot for work days, nights etc. and few of my IRL friends know I bot.

I was thinking that I can use the bot "in a wrong way" to just make invites for friends #1 #2 #3 when run starts.

No problem thx for the reply:) If there is good coders in this topic, please check my plugin request from page plugins. Plugin request that I made would give bots atleast +90% survivability since arcane damage mostly kill us

Works great rrrix!

Just one request, are you able to make the followers revive at corpse on death instead of reviving at checkpoint?
