Honorbuddy Bans Statement

I think it's their way to let everyone dump there tokens and force people into play Heroes of the Storm whom starts an open beta in a week from now. If Daybreak Games is smart they release their MMO Everquest Next in the following month or starting Beta running.

I feel like the only way to really know what Blizzard has done is to sue them.. In discovery they would have to reveal the tactics used to detect HB and if they were using spyware to do this then Blizzard banned paid accounts and some months paid ahead at 15.00 per month..Either way they are unjustly enriched by however many accounts were stricken down as a direct and proximate result.. Theft is theft and Blizzard has done some serious slight of hand here. I think it could be considered Theft by Conversion on the subscriptions.. Getting to the bottom of how they detected this leads me to believe they were definitely in all machines looking around and that is most definitely more unethical in my opinon. I hope a lawyer gets involved for the pure fact that theft and privacy are the two main causes of action I see that could be used to get the true answers of how Blizzard did the deed.

prior to the bans I had suspect spyware looking through all my folders, claiming to search for blizzard games I did not buy into that and quickly killed it, I was kind of suspicious that someone was monitoring my account at this time, since this was very unusual practice also I found that my settings had changed from 32 bit to 64 bit...

I am now curious to see if more bans occur since the game is under maintenance, I was having a feeling they might be sweeping more accounts.

Just to give you an update on my side of the situation.
After many automated responses by Blizzard they just cancelled the whole ticket without a single reply. Even after mentioning the EU privacy law, nothing has been done about it. I have now re-opened another ticket with reference to previous one and in essence saying that they have no right to ban someone without giving a proper and detailed reason for the ban. The email I received doesn't even mention automation or bots, it's just a generalized email with a notice for a 6 month ban.
I can accept the ban no problem, after all, like everyone here, I knew the consequences of botting before doing it (and I needed a break anyway:P). What I won't accept is the way Blizzard is treating their paying customers and just doing a blanket ban without any details on it.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Everyone is, they aren't going to willingly give out any information on how they detected HB, they may as well send Bosslands a letter outlining how to get around the new detection method.

That's not what I meant.
The email I received from blizzard doesn't even mention the use of bots or automation. I pissed at the fact they can't even mention that and tell me when they detected the breach.

Just received this reply:
"Hello xxxxx

Thanks for contacting us, For privacy and security reasons, it is our policy never to reveal details regarding account investigations beyond those which are provided in the original notice mail.

But should you wish to raise this as a legal right you would need to contact our legal team by post or email."

Would it be worth going through legal and get some info out of them?

Blizzard should be kissing ass Bossland delicate because they allowed users to play with their routines. And Bossland Blizzard brought money to the amount of banned accounts!

Hey there,

I understand you're chatting with us today about the recent six month suspension applied to your account.

Taking a look at things, it does look like the correct action was taken here. =/

While I know that it's a bummer that you won't have access to the WoW account until November, you do still have access to all other Blizzard games, and your standing in those has not been changed.

Also keep in mind that normally botting actions like these are full closures, and we're making an exception here to only suspend the accounts, even though the suspension is a big one. For more information about the ban, there should have been an email sent to your address, and then we also have a forum post about the suspensions here: us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/17347095985.

I cannot provide specifics in regards to our reviewing processes, or how our in-game records are reviewed. However, I can say we take a very harsh stance toward any exploitation that takes place within World of Warcraft. Specifically, any program that automates gameplay, commonly referred to as a “Bot” or “hack” program is something that can cause this type of suspension.

I.E. "We banned about 5% of the total active accounts and would be stupid if we permanently closed them. We're hoping in 6 months time you come back and spend some more money in the game because we're hemorrhaging subs at an alarming rate atm."

5% is too low figure .... And there is information on the Prohibition of accounts in the region - China and Korea?
