And how does that account for those of us that weren't logged in during the trip wire?

Tuch'e to that but to hummor the rest of reades they probably went back on all those account looked a logs for suspicious activity and compered to all account<-- conspiracy theory

I believe the actual detection was during that trip wire event that happened not to long ago they logged all the instant log offs and banned based on that.

no.... i im ban and not on line during trip wire event....

We need more time for a new Honorbuddy release as our new counter measures are not fully ready yet. Please be assured that we are working hard to get back online and we will let you know when we are close.

While we don't like giving any ETA, it is very unlikely that we could do a new release within next 18 hours.

Thank you for the announcement Raphus.

Greetings Buddies,

We will soon release Honorbuddy again - we expect it to be by the end of this week.

Its been a week since we closed down the authentication servers for Honorbuddy. In this time, we tried to figure out what happened. We must say that we have no idea what really happened and all we have are speculations.

We speculate, that at some point, Blizzard used parts of the World of Warcraft client that acted in a hidden manner like malware. Then they scanned everything they could scan on a given computer and flagged the ones they thought were operating against their TOS/EULA. They are fine to install any such malware-type hidden software at any given time according to their End User Agreement.

There have been rumours, spread by Blizzard, that over 100,000 WOW Accounts have been banned during the ban wave on 13th May 2015 and that they are most likely all Honorbuddy users. We have to dispute this; there has never been that many active Honorbuddy users. We are still unaware if this was a real detection or some shady malware that was injected into everyones computer for a short period of time.

Be aware that we have not seen the cause of the bans. We have an anti-malware and anti-detection tool called Tripwire that aims to identify unexpected behaviour by gaming companies. We can just try to make sure, that the next time something shady has been done, that Tripwire detects it. Tripwire is the only hope we can rely on right now; it has been improved and hopefully will watch over your shoulder much better now.

Again, we will give no guarantee and we have never given a guarantee, that our software is immune to detection or bans.

If u can proove this malware injec through batlle.net app i would like a note of that.
In my country sending malware is still a crime.
even big corps need to hold to the law.

if its in the EULA and a crime they will not be able to get away with it.
Maybe a good idea to get people to look in there country to see if its eligal in there country.

Kind regards.

ps: i didnt get banned i just hate the idea these idiots scanning stuff they dont have a right to scan eula or not.

man after reading all on the forum, am i glad i had a 2-3 month wow break xD thought id check forums before booting everything up again. Happy me :D All accounts still working xD

Thank you for the update Raphus and long live HonorBuddy!!!!

I have to applaude the full disclosure policy of Bossland. He just told it like it is; straight up. "We do not know, we will release a new HB anyway, you might get banned again".
Frankly guys/girls, has it been different at any given time? You bot, you take the risk. Plain and simple. I never used HB whilst thinking that HB was undetectable. I logged on every day hoping all was fine. It has been for many years.

If Blizzard wants to find HB running on a machine, they will. They work with top developers who also have access to HB and other bots, just like us. The question is, can they do it in a legal way... and that's a thin line. It would not surprise me if they did use some sort of malware to get information they should not be allowed to get. Something they had on standby, just in case the court ruling was infavorable.

TLDR; Glad HB is coming back. Many of you say "I won't use HB anymore because now it's unsafe" do not realise it has NEVER BEEN SAFE. As long as your fine with that, with losing your account, all is fine. I can't wait to start using it again. YOLO! :D

You my man, take my like god damnit!

Where is the new release ?
Did you fail to read the last 2 pages of this thread? Raphus just stated they are working on getting a release pushed out. Although very unlikely, there is a possibility it'll be out in the next 18 hours.

Hmmm, maybe it's a hint that we can expect the update after 18 hours? :D At least more chances.
