Building a new PC for mythic raiding + HB routines... any suggestions?

Hey guys, for a long time I've lived with a 20-30 FPS raiding experience (20 TPS), now I'm looking to rebuild and was hoping someone experienced with builds could help me out, I don't want to overspend or underspend to accomplish what I want...

My budget is 2k max, and that's not including case since I already have one.

WHAT I WANT:
I want a steady 60 FPS while raiding mythic with honorbuddy routines on high settings at 2560x1440 res
I want to be able to set my combat bot to 60 TPS
I'm a healer, so from my understanding my routine's engine is constantly working overtime (I think DPS is less system demanding)

If you guys could explain how powerful of a CPU + GPU I'd need to accomplish that I'd be very grateful, thanks!

Some lads will love this. I'm not up to date with the value pc components atm, NVIDA and intel are my loves.

60 FPS on what settings?

You'll probs need to spend about $1500, maybe $1300 though tbh
 
We need some more details as well? Using just for wow? How much storage do you want? SSD or? Play any other games?
 
Yeah I'm really out-of-date with PC components, and since this is for a WoW machine running extensive class routines it's not exactly easy to find the specs the perfect set-up. >< I don't want to overspend, but 2k is the max I'm willing to go (obviously anything lower would be great)

This will mostly be a WoW/HB machine, I do play DotA 2 on the side but that's nothing to consider since it's requirements are low...

I want 60 fps in mythic raid encounters, average, on high settings, and yes I do want an SSD. Again the most important part to all this is being able to run HB, with a healing engine/routine and setting my combat bot TPS to 60...

I can build it, I've built my current PC a few years ago, but I'm also down to just buy a pre-made if anyone has suggestions.

Don't skimp on your cpu... Intel i7 latest gen or go home... Wow is all about cpu..

If you going to run Mutiple bots after your raids, then I suggest 4gb for every wow/hb plus 8gb for Windows 10 and every day apps..

You can get away with ALOT less then this, he'll I've ran 6bots on 4gb but its just not fun.
 
Something like this would work pretty well. Just expand the memory to 16GB, maybe get a water CPU cooler if you prefer. You can get the i7-6700k if you want to run multiple bots while playing something else, but it's not really necessary for a single game.

I know case might be a little overkill but I like large cases and the aesthetic is really nice to me...

Please let me know if I've screwed anything up or have any suggestions for improvements

Note: I have an great SSD already
 
I can't wait for the time in my life when I can afford stuff like this.
 
Screw aesthetic cases; spend the cash on more ram etc.

WoW doesn't even use 4 cores, 6 is completely overkill. If it's a purely gaming rig, I'd get a 980 TI with a skylake i5-6600k instead.
 
  • Intel i7-6700K (definitely want an i7 because of HyperThreading, not an i5)
  • Noctua NH-D15
  • ASUS MAXIMUS VIII RANGER Z170 Socket-1151
  • Corsair Vengeance (not the tall spiky ones) or Kingston Fury 2x16GB (32GB total, important get a set of two 16GB dimms) 2133MHz-2666MHz (whichever speed is cheaper, doesn't make any difference, but sometimes faster RAM is cheaper)
  • ASUS GTX 980 Ti Strix Edition
  • Samsung 850 EVO 250/500GB + Seagate Barracuda 2TB
  • Phanteks EVOLV ATX
  • Coolermaster V750 / Any Seasonic 750W+ unit / Corsair RM750i (any of which you can find cheaper)


This will be well inside the budget, have a decent one-click overclock or advanced manual and have room for second GPU and 32-64GB RAM upgrade. It will be very quiet and only contain quality components.

just take a i5 4690k is god enough with 4core and no hyperthread and this could be OC. there is also en xeon 1230 v2 this is almost the same as the i7 4770k but without the OC possibility.
just take 8g of ram more then enough 16g if you want to play games and bot on the same time(black ops 3 need 8g so you got enough for bots and other stuff)
128g ssd for boot and maybe 500g or 1tb hdd for storage
I got the gtx 960 2gb and I can raid on high settings with 60+ fps and me resolution is 2560x1080 so if you got a 1440p screen you will need a gtx 970

and don't take me word or anything from this forum. Don't get me wrong but I have seen some terrible "tips" on this forum. and even in this thread I see some post where I 'm just not sure if joking or being for real. please go to a website like https://pcpartpicker.com/ for a gaming pc for like 700$ that also looks great

He has a 1440p monitor and wants average, but should really want minimum, 60 FPS. On a 1440p monitor, you don't want to play at low settings. And if he has the budget, HyperThreading is definitely worth it. And Skylake is much better than Devil's Canyon, not much because of IPC, but general improvement with chipset.
You get less value for your money with a high end system, but the system I suggested is very good value for a high end system. The GPU could be dropped to a 980, if you wanted to save a few dollars. Wouldn't make a big difference in the grand scheme of things.

such mis informed information.

well done- you read somewhere online that wow only use 4 core... Perhaps you should get a better understanding of how your OS uses a CPU and how WOW and HB and your OS can utilise a CPU before posting rubbish.

CPU power (including core/bus speed and raw power) is the most vital piece of hardware when botting with wow.

You most certainly want a i7 if you can afford it.
 
Yeah... while WoW doesn't taken a powerful PC at all (my current 4 year old PC can easily run average 60 fps on medium settings in mythic raids) it's when I add HB into the mix that everything takes a massive shit.

HB gets a lot of benefit from high system bus speed.. including the ram speed and CPU cache. These higher speeds are just no fond on the older and lower end Gear.
 
In my experience, your milage may obviously vary, the higher settings in WoW takes a bigger toll. Considering the state right now, I'm only running one bot on a Q8300 4x2.5GHz, 4GB 667MHz and GTX 460 system. Can do high-ultra (doesn't support all ultra settings :)) at 45 FPS easily, but with quest bot drops to 15. On low settings never drops below 45. Doesn't really happen on main PC ultra at 1440p capped at 75 FPS with routines. Botted on a lot of different PCs, and it varies a lot though.
To explain why HyperThreading is good briefly: It may look like it's 8 cores, but it's 4 cores, each with a "helper-core" making the actual cores more effecient. That's always good, and gets better the more things you do.
