[PAID] BGFarmer - An Advanced Battleground Bot Base

Hey, I have a question/problem:
Im useing BGFarmer with your Portal Mage routine as a Frost mage for afk bg'ing,
So, i have a little bit problems with it and since you coded the base and the routine, which movement/targeting/faceing/strafing should i use?
because, i watched the bot doing some bgs, and some things he does again and again: He goes/rides (often in ws) a little circle. Not big, like 2meters, often if he mounted up or switched target, but this looks really stupid and conspicuous. Also often he doenst really know where he wants to go, first he wants to go to our flag and at half of the way (like where the tents are) he thinks no he wants to go to the center, in the center he rides a big X and stucked at the horde beserk buff around. In kotmogu he rides 3 rounds around the whole tempel before he attacks someone(i thought sometimes the bot is afraid of the enemies) but first makes a 180° body rotation, also very often. So all the time i was watching him, he looked like a hardcore bot, so I thought maybe there is something wrong.. I played some to give you a log:View attachment 7624 2015-01-28 21.15.txt

Edit: Watched him again Twin Peaks, game begins, he runs not with the pack but solo the ramp, gets stuck at the ramp and falls from it, stands like 30sec afk and runs back to our base lol, the same a dudu with me, looked like he is also using BGFarmer ..

Bot defends too much time.

There is also a very dumb behavior where the bot ignores battles. For example he is defending a point and there is a battle ahead, however the bot wont move to defend. I think that the range is 50 yards... However I have seen how the bot was also through a battle, ignoring it completely and not attacking.

Yeah I'll need to do something to handle this new change.
For the way Ashran goes on my server, it'd be relatively simple. Ask for a raid invite in /1, accept when it pops up, and stick with the biggest group of raid members. Horde (which I mostly play) pretty much controls the events constantly, and only hits the road when the battle starts.

But if you get on the road any other time, the alliance smashes you. So even a simple "join group, hang out with the group, kill stuff with them" option would pretty much keep you doing stuff and blending in with the herd.

There is also the targeting thing. I understand that even if the enemy is low health, if there is a healer nearby you have to target the healer. But if the enemy is low health and no enemies near? Why letting him go? Why not helping an ally which is being attacked by just one guy when he is at 30 yards of you?

i hate to keep crappin on your botbase but.. i am a paying customer who cares about my account so.. i must! besides if people dont say anything, things dont get fixed right?

okay.. so I am running 2 toons right now in bgs. Both different classes, different genders, different accounts, different routines and in different groups (however they ended up in the same bg).

Now from what i understand (and was a huge part of my decision to purchase your botbase) its supposed to avoid other bots/not run the same paths so no "bot-train" leaves the station.

Well both my toons are literally following one another to the point of it looking like i have one on auto-follow of the other. I break them apart by manually jumping/running/strafing/pausing/moving away from one another but they always end up back on the same path. Im a very down to earth guy who doesnt exaggerate. If it wasnt "that" bad i wouldnt be wasting my time w/ a post.

I know extremely little about coding so i cant even begin to guess at what type of algorithm goes into its randomization or determining whether its on the same course as another, what i do know is that you should take a better look at that :)

If i had to guess, thats a pretty big selling point for your botbase therefore should excel at what it does.

Aaaaaaaand while im here. I mentioned my resto druid going into stealth and.. stopping. You said (iirc) it was something to do w/ the routine (gladiator suite?). Care to recap on that? Is it something you need to address? If not please let me know what i need to say so i can get the proper thread and get it addressed.

(i guess for now i can just disable prowl, i think...)

Anyways, thats all i got for ya! Fwiw i do plan on purchasing your lock routine as soon as i can afford it and this in no way detracts from how much i appreciate your work or of how high quality i know it can be/is. Just want to see it improve as do you im sure.

back sooner than anticipated :(

your botbase is logging me out when i hit 1700 conquest points but AM NOT at my cap. With this being the case, i can only assume my other toon which will cap at about 400 points (since i already spent a bunch) its going to keep going and going and going without logging out even though it IS capped.

add to your never ending list <3

I appreciate a lot of what this bot does, however, there are a few very funky behaviors:

One, it tends to occasionally disengage from combat in a very inhuman way.

Two, it really should have a healer mode, where the bot finds a group to follow and heal. Instead, my guy, a resto druid, attacks! Ridiculous.

Three, it will occasionally get stuck wandering around, as if it can't decide where to go. This could be solved by number 2--seek out other players at all times. After all, most battlegrounds are won with teamwork, and the best class for botting is a healer.

In all, although it's programmed to win, it exhibits far too much solo behavior. It would be great to have a way to tweak that.

Thanks so much!

Movement/Facing can be handled by either the routine or the bot base. Doesn't really matter which. The only benefit to using BGFarmer's movement is that it can move around a bit more when you're in combat (i.e. if someone is rooted it will move away from them).

Avoiding fights/doing laps was due to some code that I put in to avoid areas of high density enemy presence. That changed in the build I pushed last night which should be better.

Running in a little circle is HBs navigation system. The new custom navigator should resolve that (but may introduce other issues, so don't afk with that enabled).

Bot defends too much time.

Post a log file please. It will only attack people once they're within your targeting range (default 60yds).

Even when in a group, the team members are phased so the bot can't 'see' where they are. Ashran is a heavily phased zone which causes a lot of problems for HB.

There is also the targeting thing. I understand that even if the enemy is low health, if there is a healer nearby you have to target the healer. But if the enemy is low health and no enemies near? No problem, I don't mind reports of issues and/or bad behaviour, it improves it for everyone (I bot a lot with BGFarmer so it improves it for me too!). I don't need overly dramatised posts, just descriptions of issues :).

Have you got the 2x log files from where the toons followed each other? The custom nav system should help prevent this further once it's working fully, but yeah, that absolutely shouldn't be happening.

You'll need to elaborate on the resto druid stealth issue, sorry! What's happening? Need the log for that too I guess.

Ha my list does indeed never end. Good job I enjoy coding :)

For the conquest points, I'm possibly too late in replying to this, but can you open HB -> then Developer Tools, then 'Console'. In the top large box, enter the following code:

Code:
var conquestPoints = WoWCurrency.GetCurrencyByType(WoWCurrencyType.ConquestPoints);
var currentAmount = conquestPoints.Amount;
var weeklyCap = conquestPoints.WeeklyMax;
var luaCap = Lua.GetReturnVal<int>("return GetCurrencyInfo(390)", 4);

Log("currentAmount:{0}, weeklyCap:{1}, luaCap:{2}", currentAmount, weeklyCap, luaCap);

.. Press the 'Run' button, and it should print out the values into the large bottom box.

Can you then tell me what the values are in game (current amount / weekly cap value), and paste the output of that command. Need to see where the discrepancy is!

1) Need a log file / more info on this one

2) It does have lots of specific healer logic, but it's on my infamous to-do list to improve their logic, especially for BGs like arathi basin, deepwind gorge etc. I've half coded the new logic for it (but it failed miserably when I tested it), but shouldn't take too much more work to get it where it needs to be.

3) Agree.

Thanks for the feedback!

In the battle of gilneas the bot cant get out of the base. It seems that this only happens if you join an ongoing game, not a new game.

Will try to save a log next time, right now I cant differentiate them.

Never seen/heard this happen, so will definitely need a log file for it.

Do i have to set any speciel to let the bot repair in ashran?
Have set the "allow vendor/repairing" but it wont repair anyway?

Thanks for a great botbase!

I also had issues in Battle of Gilneas. The bot would just circle around the area between Mine and Lighthouse. He did this repeatedly and I even had a real player following me around mentioning that I was a bot in chat. Log attached. Its long as it was running all night, I stopped it when I got up and saw what was happening, so the issue I mentioned is at the very end of the log.View attachment 1648 2015-01-29 00.22.txt

There's a lot of vendors missing from Ashran in the HB database, so it's not working as it should. There's an open problem for it - but I've had to add some code to prevent it trying to swim to the main continent to repair, which can result in it not repairing at all.

Thanks for the log, was it definitely Mine and LH? From the log it looks like WW and LH. If it's WW and LH then I know what the issue is. Let me know.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

The bot has failed to read the games memory when trying to retrieve the vendors items (I'm guessing you clicked the button to get items) ?

Reloading HB should fix that. Not much I can do about it really.

Thanks for the log, was it definitely Mine and LH? From the log it looks like WW and LH. If it's WW and LH then I know what the issue is. Let me know.

yeah, the bot was trying to decide between WW and LH, but I guess I was referring to the area he was stuck in which was the hilly area between mine and LH. Just circling and pacing around that area.

Cool, yeah I think I know what that issue is then. Will change it in the next update.

Watched the Bot now for like 2 hours doing BGs, so i have some things i noticed:
[CustomNav Arathi]: Dont use bridge goes through water and after that didnt use the path but swam the way all around blacksmith(mid) (lol xD) .. deactivated it after that. WS generally he didnt really know what he wants to do all the time, half of the way he turns around (With CustomNav and without). Generally at all "base" BGs he deffs alone and if some other play comes he instant mounts up and goes (watched it alot in the bg with the bases and lores, dont know the name atm). Same like he runs to our base which is deffed by 1 player and attacked by 3 .. looks at it and then runs away, not a human thing, every player would also try to defend it, no matter its one enemy more!
Also he often doenst target the healer but the DD, or likely the prot pala (wtf?). Is there a priority targeting for flag carries? If they run alone he moves to them, but in a zerg he targets really random in my eyes.
But im really happy the bot isnt running the same path like the other Bots in the BG useing BGBuddy, this is half of the rent ;)
