Am I the only one who just got banned right now?

Was banned. Used Tuanha, Stars, Leaves, and Oracle. Occassionally used Garrisonbuddy, most of the time was Enyo, never afk for any. I was online during the tripwire.

Not banned yet (EU). I would not mind getting banned so I can do real life stuff, but I enjoy the game a lot as well.

TLDR: Either way, ban or not, I am going to be ok!

Not banned. Used all Druid CRs (demos for paid, actually bought Glad Suite Druid), was starting to test out Warlock CRs. Quested one character from 90-100, another 90-94, using Kicks profiles and Singular. Also leveled a lowbie from 1-24 using Singular. Have been botting for a little over a month now, was not online when the Tripwire event happened.

I would guess it has to do with a combat routine. If the routine is using protected LUA functions, it would be very easy to filter out botters from legit players. I'm not sure how prevalent this is in the popular CRs, but I would guess that several of them have used functions that have given them away. Perhaps the Tripwire event was them implementing a check for the use of protected LUA functions.

Regarding protected LUA functions does blizzard need to check the server or the client to see who's using them?

I am not a HB developer, but I have completed a degree in Computer Science. I would guess it would be client side. Perhaps they rate check the number of times these protected functions are called per second? I'm not sure what their logic is, or what the exact limitations of the protected functions are, or even how Honorbuddy / CRs interact with these functions, but I would imagine there is some way for the client to detect bad input and then relay that back to Blizzard.

Or it could be something else entirely. It's important to remember this is all speculation, and until someone with authority on the subject says something definitive, it's best to just assume it was bad luck and not one specific action / CR / profile in particular.

Edit: Upon further introspection, I doubt that they are detecting anything. If they were, many more accounts would currently be banned. I believe it is just a scheduled roundup of accounts that have been reported before.

Guy's there is in no such way a bann wave as explained before. Like others have said you are watched for a period of time before they bann you. they look into it just as much as hb looks into there bot being safe. Might take a few days or a few weeks the only way you are being banned 9 times out of 10 is player reports. And sadly its almost likely you are being reported by other botters. How many of you being banned are playing on really high pop servers. Im sure the ones that play on low to med pop don't get reported at all unless they are dumb and bot 24/7. Play smart if you want to bot at a safer rate go to lower pop servers dont sit on illidian if you are horde or sargeras if you are alli and bot you will most likely get reported by other greedy botters. Now this is just my opinion but im sure others will clarify it that most of these banns come from botters who know what bots look like or are following the same paths or patterns as you. I recently lost a main account due to running one of those dungeon grinding profiles on a high pop server and yes there were about a dozen others doing the same thing i even sat there the whole time watching did no good i lost my account a week later and im very careful never botting for over 4 hours at a time. I honestly don't get what other botters get out of reporting there own but it happens be safe and stay away from those high pop servers.

I was ONLINE for the tripwire event in a BattleGround using Vitalics Rogue CR. My account is fine.

I use kicks to level my toons, and I use CR's manually in BG's and sometimes farm dungeons for mounts, my account is fine. US Server.

I am not banned. I got a 72 hour suspension about 18 months ago and since then do nothing but CR in raids. No gathering/leveling.

Could someone explain why I randomly get DCd at times? I have a stable internet connection so I know its not that, I used to get it when I was botting and I panicked thinking I got banned but nothing ever happened I can just log back on as normal, but this happened today again, and I haven't even started HB today( Paranoid). Would u guys say its safe to stop botting for a while, "Like others have said you are watched for a period of time before they bann you."<- Thinking about this, maybe they are testing my account? I was online when the tripwire happened, and the bot stopped working but I never got DCd my char just stood there afk, Im only using the Singular CRs.

How many of you guys were getting randon DC's in the last few days ..I seem to have a lot of those now...

OOps sorry Carolineth..didnt see your post I seem to have a similar Question

Honestly when i had a slower pc when i shut my bot off my client would go off too maybe its your pc try making sure all your updates are current and yes it is safe t say stay alittle concerned alot of people are getting banned so play safe only do minimal things while botting never bot for more then a few hours and always change it up.

currently there are 6 ban reports for today, not really a wave or even a ripple.

I haven't gotten ban on this "MASSIVE" (sarcasm) ban wave, having said that I have been ban more times than I can count. Plenty of emails to and from blizz saying the same things you guys are posting. Violation this, terms that. It is inevitable. You will be ban. PERIOD. Suck it up, take off your panties and pull up your big boy pants. As someone posted earlier you were probably reported, when they finally checked your account you fit into a category. Be lucky it is 6 months. If you have half a brain you dump your gold into a guild bank and have alt accounts/toons that can access it so you don't lose your ass. Gold in guild banks is the safest place it can be.

As for the disconnects, I had received plenty of them too, but because I was being disconnected on more than just WoW, I brushed it aside. I would be disconnected from TS3 as well, even while not on WoW/running Honorbuddy. I hope Blizz isn't out there destroying my internet xD

gaming said it best way is to have 2 accounts and dump all your gold into the account your not botting on other wise you get banned and loose everything. I learned the hard way loosing 450k i busted my ass to get well busted i mean botted lol but always watching and never on for long periods of time so there are things you can do i have a buddy who bots and has not been banned yet and hes been doing it since cata so its how you bot and where you bot at.

So the funny thing is, from looking around the various websites, it looks like those that got banned were not using a legit version of HB. At least that is what I have pieced together so far.

Also want to mention that this thread has been linked from the main WoW arena forums, so would not be surprised to see more troll posts pop up.

My version of HB is legit and I just got a ban. I just use the CR and a garrison botbase. However, I was on during the recent tripwire event.

I don't use it but your not the first person saying you got ban and were using the garrison base. No conspiracy theory just commenting
