[A+H Fly - Quest] All Zone OCD Quest Completion Profile [IN DEVELOPMENT]

I would love to see this come to fruition, but I'm wondering why you want to go at it lone rather than working with Kick and the buddy team? They've already done a lot of the leg work and built a substantial framework. Tweaking and/or rewriting some of the existing profiles and quest behaviors to streamline leveling and make it more AFK friendly would certainly be faster and less time-consuming.

Which ever direction you take I am excited to see the outcome. I can also lend myself to help test and debug if you're looking for guinea pigs. I have written some basic profiles and rotation based CCs and have 4 active accounts with numerous toons on both factions, so I have some basic knowledge of how the product works and interacts with the game client.

Quest-o-matic - Quests & Leveling - World of Warcraft Addons - Curse or something similar handles quest accepting and automation fairly well. Maybe you could write a plugin that would hook into the addon to accomplish what you want to do? The PimpMyGuild plugin does something similar by hooking into the SuperGuildInviter Addon.

Oh I'm doing that :p Kick and others have provided great profiles so I'm picking stuff out of theirs, giving credit as it comes to finish time. Also I am making sure 100% to ask as many questions as possible when something comes up. I'm not going to pretend for one minute I'm a superman without flaws :p

As far as addons, using code found in addons maybe, but I'm trying to avoid addons and plugins if at all possible. Not that I don't want help or I'm too prideful but I want to be able to say what's wrong with it if it's broken, nor do i want it dependent on someone elses work for patches and so on. Trying to make it uniform across all the code usable by simply loading it in the questing bot and not needing extra support. There are great profiles and utilities on this forum. However, I hate having to jump through fiery hoops to get something set up, I certainly wouldn't want to push that on someone else :p

Thank you for the debugging post by the way i'll add ya to the list :)

Edit: I need to quit using so many damn smileys :) :D :( :p

oh

i'm sure you can do that in a plugin - just go to jamba (or whatever addon you use in wow) and look through their code to see what accepts all quests from current questgiver

So any script commands in game can just be used via internal macro call at quest givers? - Is this efficient in a speed sense?

Oh my, it sounds too good to be true. But please Im glad if you prove my words wrong! If others cant believe in you, then you have to at least believe in yourself. Please, tell us your secret, what keeps you going? What drives you forward on doing the profile :D

This can be epiq, wonder how long it will take to make... hehe.. :p

It's looking like it might be a while. The starer zones are gimmes, there are a few profiles to draw from but the biggest hurdle I'm running into is the partials, purchasing mounts/pets and doing specific things like fishing up a fish toward the metas. Also loving and killing certain critters is becoming a major bitch. However, it's coming along I should have a couple of zone releases very soon. Overall time, probably a solid 6 months. Most of it is self testing before release. Have patience with me though, I will answer every question I can and keep everyone informed as I go.

I answered the questions in the first post, because I hadn't created a profile, I had no real right to bitch about what it was doing. So i decided to make this one. Also if you are going to do something do it big. Hence this profile.

Taking the time to stop by and just cheering you up gigatank! It's really amazing what you're trying to do here, and don't give up. If you stumble upon a problem just ask the thread, and me, or any other maybe more experienced scripter can answer the question.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I've been posting in the developers forum a new thread per issue if possible with solved or otherwise title changes for people who search. In addition I've been blog posting anything I get answers on to help others in building their own profiles. I'm still very much motivated.

:D

I'd be willing to assist with testing. I have several toons of varying levels across multiple accounts and even more character slots still. I'd probably be most useful to you rolling specific races or classes and leveling "as directed" in order to test level appropriate questing (I prefer and am most familiar with Horde). Most of my 85s are actively played in high profile guilds and damn near Loremasters so they won't be as helpful. I've created some small personally necessary profiles of my own and can read most behavior code even if I can't write it from scratch so I may be able to assist with actual troubleshooting if desired.

I will be asking for help so don't worry I'll hit ya up :)

Been busy writing down and following up on some quest goodies. MoP release has kept me busy. Still working on it though.

Today I have set my coding pen down so to speak, until the quest behaviors get an update. I had custom pathing working and it was doing well. However, after several attempts at an internal "bug-free" ( i use the term loosely ) experience in -just- the starting zones across different race and class combos, I am stopping. I am waiting until the quest behaviors that myself and so many other people are tired of, are fixed. Once they are fixed I will continue this.

This does not mean I am stopping/quitting/throwing in the towel, this means I will not attempt to further code until those behaviors are fixed, period.

Update to files.. I have every zones questing and general achievement progress laid out. I simply am working out the kinks details and switching of overrides and behaviors. I will have a 1-90 questing/zone/achievement profile to test in it's entirety very soon.

Any updates on this?

Don't wait for updates.

The Quest Behaviors which he relies on have been in the process of "fixing" since Cataclysm. Trouble is, in Kick's own words there is nobody with sufficient .NET scripting skills to help him out with the various vehicle and item interactions added in Cataclysm and after that, so big parts of the Quest Behaviors cannot be fixed, and that's why you will sometimes see the bot simply moving to an area and grinding some mobs in order to level up and move on to the next zone, or always turning on "Kill Between Hotspots" automatically.

TL;DR - OP will never get the updates he needs. Unless he writes his own behaviors, this project will not take off.
