[A+H Fly - Quest] All Zone OCD Quest Completion Profile [IN DEVELOPMENT]

What I plan on doing is releasing a zone one at a time to maximize the testing on it and smash out any bugs immediately, when the zone is done I will pull it away and focus on the next. When the development gets to where the starter+6-10(or whatever) zones for ALL races and ALL classes are done then I'll release those for "open use" for everyone. While those get released I'll continue working on the next sets of zones. I figure 2 at a time for each race/class until done.

Yes indeed this was another major reason I wanted to do this project, my characters. I did everything on my main and I have A LOT of alts. I want to do these things on my alts but simply lack the motivation. Well.. if I do the work right the first time, one time, I'll be able to bot and reap the benefits on all my characters ^.^

Actually this is the perfect time to announce it's development and start on something easy like a starting zone to become and expert at doing it for MoP. That's why I'm starting on it now and not AFTER MoP. The MoP series stuff I will probably be hand writing as I'm doing it personally on live on my main ( beta kinda lagged tbh ) :p

Wish I knew the first thing about coding to help you out, but I will gladly try out the profiles and post logs throughout this project. Thanks for taking this on!

Updating the thread for a better look and more organized feel. This will include the names of the people who offered to test out the scopes of the profile as they're released.

Suggestion
It would be cool to target specific areas, for loremaster achieve. "Go do x area only".

You mean be able to choose a zone within the profile series?
 
I woul'd like to help out with testing things out horde side.
Also got quite the experience in WoW and enough spare time at hands.

Will keep an eye on this thread, ofcourse I'll also throw in some donations because this sounds awesome!

Am I blind, or is there no way to set a profile, aside from normal use of quest dialog, to auto accept/initiate quests like an addon rather then doing the actual dialogs? Been pulling my hair out trying to find something similar to just accepting without "clicking" the quest like the bot currently does.

Um ok I'm working on the quest behaviors trying to make it speedy. One of the things I never liked about Hb was how it accepts quests. I've used addons that regardless of how many quests a quest giver gives it will simply auto accept the first quest and I will never see the dialog window at all. What I'm trying to do is write behaviors to do that, auto accept anything and everything without a delay in the acceptance. Now on the other note, as I jumble this, I'm also trying to write that side by side as an option to turn on or off, like default HB quest acceptance behavior or custom speed questing behavior. - The option is so in the future if let's say you only need half a zone you turn off the speed option for the bot to catch and find what you need in a zone without any errors.

I guess the short question is am I blind or is there no way to set how HB accepts a quest?

oh

i'm sure you can do that in a plugin - just go to jamba (or whatever addon you use in wow) and look through their code to see what accepts all quests from current questgiver
 
I would love to see this come to fruition, but I'm wondering why you want to go at it lone rather than working with Kick and the buddy team? They've already done a lot of the leg work and built a substantial framework. Tweaking and/or rewriting some of the existing profiles and quest behaviors to streamline leveling and make it more AFK friendly would certainly be faster and less time-consuming.

Which ever direction you take I am excited to see the outcome. I can also lend myself to help test and debug if you're looking for guinea pigs. I have written some basic profiles and rotation based CCs and have 4 active accounts with numerous toons on both factions, so I have some basic knowledge of how the product works and interacts with the game client.

Quest-o-matic - Quests & Leveling - World of Warcraft Addons - Curse or something similar handles quest accepting and automation fairly well. Maybe you could write a plugin that would hook into the addon to accomplish what you want to do? The PimpMyGuild plugin does something similar by hooking into the SuperGuildInviter Addon.
