New PC [Bought, Build and Working - Pics inside]

Right, I made around enough money from playing Diablo now to buy a brand new spanking PC. My only problem is the fact that I know nothing of building a PC, let alone what components are good/important to buy.

So I turn to you, oracles of demonbuddy, and experts of internet assistance!

If I told you, I had around a thousand euro, maybe a bit more, to build a new PC for - would that be enough to get a real strong computer, who can multibot, aswell as last a couple of years?

If that is so, I'd like some guidance, or perhaps even a build to give me and idea on what to buy - Putting the PC together is not an issue, I'll just have someone do it :-)

EDIT: Pics on page 6 - Feel free to ask questions.

1000 euro would be enough to build a good computer, but to be honest: just take a look at the first page. In the last 2 hours there have been like 8 threads about new computers...

I did actually look around a bit, and saw the post about building cheapest PC for botting - I just thought I'd make my own post, as I was looking for more general tips, and a PC that would last throughout a few years of new games :-). But I'll search around a bit more then I guess, see what I can find.

here ya go... this is similar what my bot comp has, or what I would upgrade to (I have the asus 7970 with 6 video out and stock 1000MHz)

2x Amazon.com: Sapphire Video Adapter (100925): Electronics
Amazon.com: Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound: Computers & Accessories
Newegg.com - ASUS EAH6950 DCII/2DI4S/2GD5 Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (bot comp - ~$300 new ... 6 months ago)
Amazon.com: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 11197-01-40G: Computers & Accessories (main comp)
Amazon.com: SilverStone ATX12V/EPS12V 1000W Silver Modular PFC Power Supply ST1000-P (Black): Electronics (main comp has this, bot comp has an offbrand, 80 plus gold)
Amazon.com: Cooler Master 120mm Silent Case Fan 4-in-1 Value Pack - (R4-S2S-124K-GP): Electronics
Amazon.com: Corsair Hydro Series H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CWCH100): Electronics
Amazon.com: Komputerbay 32GB (4x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz DIMM with Black Low Profile Heatspreaders 240-Pin Dual / Quad Channel RAM Desktop Memory KIT 10-10-10-27 XMP ready: Komputerbay
Amazon.com: AMD FX-8150 FX 8-Core Black Edition Processor Socket AM3+ - FD8150FRGUBOX: Computers & Accessories
Amazon.com: ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Republic of Gamers Series Motherboard: Electronics
Amazon.com: Thermaltake Level 10 GT VN10001W2N No PS Full Tower Case(Black): Electronics (main comp has this, bot comp has the level 10 gts case)
Amazon.com: Mushkin Chronos 240 GB SATA 6.0 Gb-s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive (MKNSSDCR240GB): Electronics (main comp has 480gb version, bot comp has 120gb version)

the case is really expensive, but you can always go for a cheaper one!
Add in an optical drive if you like

If you want intel instead of amd... then you can pay $300 for a mobo and $350-550 for a cpu. I went with $200/$200 amd mobo/cpu

Yes, it is very expensive

You can build one around 1/2 as much easily.

you can get the 970 mobo's (75-100)
8 core 8120 - 150'ish
cheap psu 1050w - $70 (not 80 plus gold, or 120$ gold 80 plus)
cheap case - $50-100
medium gpu - amd 6950 or even the 6770 (I had the 6770 in my bot comp for a while, it still ran great before I replaced it) - 200 or even down to 120 if you go to the 6770
and then you can get an air heatsink - $40-60 (coolermaster v6 GT is pretty nice)
120GB ssd - $80-100
2x 8gb sticks - $90 (or 4x4, but i'd rather get the 2x8)

so that will run you like 1/2 the price or so.

I'll have a look around, and post a build here in a day or two, I'll bump you in a PM when I do - hope you can do some feedback on it then :-) Thanks alot!

How many bots can this PC run? I want to run 10-15 eventually.

you're gimping yourself on the ram and ssd :(

but it will work

as far as 1440 euro (almost 1800 usd) ... that's a little high for my liking.

the video cards are only 1gb each, why not get a 3gb video card for as much as you're paying for 2 1gb's?

the cpu is only a quad core, but it works.

I personally don't think it's worth 1440 euro. I'm sure lots of people are more than happy to offer advice if you give them exactly how much you're willing to spend, and which brand(s) you like

but paying for 2x1gb cards is stupid.

3770k is not worth the money, get a 2700k instead.
Why you want a SLI? Better get a 580 or a 7970.
Get more RAM.

Love the amd processor, I dont care what anyone says.

Now I just wish the injunction would go through so I could buy more copies.... My three aren't enough! Patience..... patience

I have around 1200-1500euro(max) to spend on a PC - thing is, the one I linked is build for me, and I'm a complete nub when it comes to building my own PC.

If I tell you guys my budget, can you help me throw together a piece? :-)

Several years IMO is a long term investment. I don't think going the "cheap" route on ANYTHING long term is a good idea. I speak from experience :) Drop the extra dough, you won't regret it. Good luck

Back with a new build then:

Sapphire RADEON HD 7850 2 GB - Graphic card
Asus Crosshair V Formula - Moatherboard
AMD Black Edition - Processor - 1 x AMD 3.6 GHz - L3 - CPU
CoolerMaster Silent Pro M2 850W - Power Supply
Thermaltake Overseer Midi-Tower VN700M1W2N Window - black - Cabinet
Corsair Hydro Series H100 Extreme Liquid CPU Cooler - CPU Cooler
OCZ Agility 3 Series - Solid state drive - 120 GB - intern harddisk - 120GB SDD
G.Skill Ripjaws-X - Hukommelse - 8 GB : 2 x 4 GB - DIMM 240-pin - 8GB of Ram
WD Scorpio Blue WD3200BPVT - 320 GB - HDD
Samsung SH-222AB - Disk drev - DVD?RW (?R DL) / DVD-RAM - Drive and DVD Burner
Cooler Master R4-L2R-20AC-GP - 120 mm - Cabinet Cooler

This I get for 1000 euro. What do you think?

EDIT: Thoughts I had; HDD is too small, and the graphic card might be too noisy with 2 fans?

AMD Black Edition - Processor - 1 x AMD 3.6 GHz - L3 - CPU

what the hell is this? this looks like a phenom. can i get a link to it? if it's a phenom, it can't go in your am3+ board
Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, CPUs / Processors, black edition
^^ this is what newegg says for black edition... which is all am3 (not am3+ which is what the crosshair v supports... and these cpu's are crap compared to the 8120/8150)

These are the cpu's that are compatible with the Crosshair V (AM3+) board
Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, CPUs / Processors, AMD, Processors - Desktops, Socket AM3+

Just get the 8150 or 8120 and call it a day. If using the Crosshair V, the board automatically clocks the 8150 at 3.9ghz (or at least it did for both of mine)

as far as 'building' your own computer... it takes like an hour or less

6-10 screws for the motherboard (most screw holes are pre-installed in the case already )
everything else you literally can't screw up when inserting it

everything is kind of common sense.. .the biggest issue you'll face is pressure - how much pressure you force on something to go in

now for your stuffs:

psu looks good, mobo looks good, i dunno what the cpu is exactly, h100 looks good, solid state is good... the ram - you're going to need more. 2x4gb is a joke. the hdd? lol, toss that and get a 2tb storage drive. who the hell even uses a 320gb hdd?
dvd drive - if you have one laying around that's sata, use that instead (ie: your current comp)
i don't know what a cabinet cooler is? is that a fan? just get the 4-pack of fans for like $13 from newegg/amazon

If you're in europe and you don't want to build your own (you keep mentioning euro) ... hell, I can sell you the bot computer I just made =P lol

Actual Specs:
Code:
amd 8150 8 core @ 3.9GHz stock
crosshair v mobo
32gb ram @ 1600mhz (Komputerbay memory)
amd 6950 2 gb
1000w psu
120gb ssd
dvd drive
corsair h100 (with 2 extra fans attached)
an extra 120mm bottom case fan
an extra 220mm side fan
case: Level 10 GTS Mid-Tower

I dunno how much I paid for all of it off hand... but it was easy enough to build and manage the wires.

I actually bought a new 7970 and stuck that in my main comp and used the 6950 for the bot comp... as they're both great cards (the 6950 is similar to the 7850 that you're wanting to get)
