Banned? Get PokemonGo (App) Refunds!

I have asked for refunds using the "i don't recognize this payment" and have been refunded for all 6 purchases starting from july 21

How long does it take to get the refunded money back to my paypal account ?

Lost my main account a few weeks ago and it didn't even cross my mind to get refunds on my in-games purchases, took only 2 days and got refunds on 11 transactions, thanks for the heads ups!

was this a payment made through paypal ?

I had 5 transactions from early July on my main account that was banned 2 weeks ago, I registered it as "i don't recognize this payment" last night. I got emails saying that all 5 will be refunded to my credit card. Hopefully they'll come through soon. Thank you for this info.

I posted on Page 3, initially I followed what Kick said, Google automated a response that was bullshit and that said take it up with the game provider. So I took another poster's advice and reported the transaction as unrecognized. I also included a comment that went along the lines of reaching out to the company and getting no answer, and that I was reporting it this way because the real reports were being automatically turned down.

The commentary, I think does not matter because all 7 refunds going back to July 8th were instant.

This worked for me. Thanks.

Thoughts -

I thought about letting Niantic keep the money for a good week now because I fully support people enjoying pokemon being brought to the real world. But then I thought, the way the game was run, was awful. We, who live in rural areas are at an complete disadvantage. I have to travel 45++ minutes (which, for some, isn't even possible) for anything beyond your typical Rat, bug, bird and bat. Nevermind anything luxurious. In fact, having an Eevee was something to brag about. How sad is that? We have gyms occupied by things like the Eevolutions, Lapras and Dragonites which I have never even seen anyone in my tech company (located all over the lower mainland (Vancouver)) own .. yet I'm banned for spoofing/botting as humanly as I possibly can imitate. My colleagues and I had a heart to heart about the game that once made us so excited to be running out during breaktime to catch things we didn't typically see and concluded that, without spoofing, we'd never have played longer than we did. In fact, with spoofing and not catching anything of worth to beat the higher stuff we would have quit on our own weeks prior. For the record, none of my immediate colleagues are banned. Only one of the three of us has botted more than me. And you know, the really funny irony is, where I live, there's this gigantic circle - a really really big obvious circle - around my house without any pokemon whatsoever. To get out of that, I have to drive an outwards of 20 minutes. lol Despite that, I had a blast beating what gyms I could. Good times.

Then of course, to add salt on an open wound .. I'm just banned, without notice. Without warning. It wasn't until a good week later, that I received the ban notice. (Yes, I walked into this knowing full well that I could one day get myself banned.) So hey, Niantic, if you're reading this, thanks for letting us live a childhood dream even for a month or less. But now that I've been banned, I'm also done.

Didn't work for me :(

Hi,

We received your refund request for 1,200 PokéCoins (Pokémon GO) , but we can’t provide a refund for this purchase because it is outside of our refund policy.

You can learn more about Google Play refund policies here: Refund & user policies - Google Play Help.

If you’re requesting refunds for an app (or in-app), it’s best to get help directly from the app’s developer. Developer contact information can be found in the Google Play store by searching for the app and scrolling down to "Additional Information."

To prevent accidental or unwanted purchases in the future, we recommend that you turn authentication on or change your password.

Thanks,

The Google Support Team

I had to do the I dont recognize, any other way was instantly rejected. The 39.99 go basically instantly, anything higher takes longer apparently.

Can confirm the "I don't recognize this purchase" option got me the refund instantly. GG Nice find guys.

OP's method did not work for me. but the 'I do not recognize' option worked for me! ty!

I tried the Paypal method which didn't work. I did the google play "I don't recognize this purchase" and got all mine refunded in less than 5 mins. Fuck You Niantic!

I got the same exact thing. Seems Niantic probably did a cease and desist on Google for allowing people to get their money back. Haha

I got mine through Apple. No idea what Google is doing but you basically inform them that the game was advertised with the ability to Track Pokemon, and now Niantic have removed it. Tracking is a major feature to catch the rare Pokemon and without it you are just catching pokemon blindly
