[Party Plugin] SimpleFollow - Multi-Bot Party Plugin

the alternative will be you playing your main account as bot's "follower", just put your main account on bot's friend's list, so your bot will send invite for new game, then you join and play manually.

(It will be right on the first page, near the top). Change the address to match the LAN ip of the master computer ? The one you want to designate as your leader. This is telling the follower machines which computer is leading for them to talk to.

Example / Follower computers:
private static Uri serverUri = new Uri("http://192.168.1.101:10920");
(If 192.168.1.101 = the IP of the master pc)

If you have a software based firewall, you may need to open port 10920 on the master computer so the firewall does not block connections to/from that port. I made a rule on mine to allow all connection types from addresses matching 192.168.*.* (This allows all traffic to communicate with that computer on that specific port over my local network only)

To keep things simple on a hardware firewall/DHCP/modem what I did was an address reservation for my master computer. - All routers I've worked with have a way to set this up in their web gui. For example: Computer Name: MasterPC = 192.168.1.101 ? This way the IP does not change on my leader computer making my bots fail to communicate with it. You dont want your DHCP assigning your master computer a new IP after you setup your follower config files to look for a specific IP. If that happens, none of them other then your master pc will run until you re-update all your simplefollow.cs files to match the new master IP. A pain in the ass to do everytime it changes. Of course you can always setup all static ips/etc, but I believe this to be the easiest way to go, like myself I have a ton of devices in my home and the only one I care to have reserved is my master pc.

If you are still unable to get it running set diag logging on bots, check the diag log box on the simplefollow, and post a reply with your logs attached and we'll take a look.

Above I wrote all the "Bad Things" I have to reach and fix.

I know, you know what now will come. Yes, please explain it Step for Step for a noob-fool like me.

Must I take the trinity.cs within it (SF) and change it?
What special IP, Port-Forwarding, UPNP, and all these nice fuc**** things I have to manage, to get it work?

I really need your help.

Well, if I understand how this bot works, it does not actually follow the pixels that make up your character (Like the D3 followers do). Nor does it even know what your character name is or look for anything about a name. Your leader character uses cords x/y /hotspots to tell your followers where to go.. "Leader = 34.33333 / 92.9482" or whatever. So if you don't want to attach your main to demonbuddy to tell your followers where to go I guess you'll need to find a way to manually tell your followers exactly where you are at all times. lol :)

(But I could be totally wrong)

I did not have to edit anything with trinity. The only thing I had to do with trinity was enable the simplefollow plugin.

If I were running that much stuff, this is what I would do to troubleshoot:

Step 1 - Verify your simplefollow.cs file URI is correct on your computers.
Example:
private static Uri serverUri = new Uri("http://192.168.1.101:10920");
(That line should look EXACTLY like that if the IP of your leader is 192.168.1.101) make sure the ip in the line matches your leader machine so the followers can communicate with the leader and know where they are going.

Step 2 - If you have verified your static URI = your leader IP, Disable all your firewalls/virus scanners/etc. Try to run it. If it runs you know one of your programs is blocking it. If it does not run, come back to this thread and post log. If I cant help maybe a pro like rrrix can.. :) I just try an answer as much as I can so he has more time to help me figure out my repair problem.. :( hahaha

Just FYI - this plugin has NOT been successfully tested with the latest patch. It was causing weird errors for me.

YMMV.

Needs some TLC, have a few other priorities ... :)
 
This plugin is even better after the new patch... more like mandatory if you want to bot just to upgrade your main char :)
 
No doubt, I was a single player botter for a long time until I got this plugin working.. Once you roll with a full bot team its the only way to go in my book.. Before this last patch I was Barb leader, Monk, Monk, Monk followers @ 50m eph. 3 mantra, 3bells, and warcry and taunt on my barb (kinda set like tank to keep get some aggro). Rollin MP9 with ease. After expansion Im going to try Crusader, Barb, Monk, Monk.. See how it works out.. Crusader might make a nice leader as a tank being able to wield 2H weapons and a shield. Im Jonesin' bigtime.
 
Same here, I have been installing and reinstalling and it will not even show up in the plugins. Since it updated again Trinity won't show up now either. I have no clue. I am really glad people can actually figure this stuff out. Keep it up guys!

Since i'm the only person who works on this, no not yet. I'm trying to get Trinity stable. This plugin is useless without good combat :)
 
Yes, we do love this plugin. It's awesome. I miss my simplefollow!
 
No problem rrrix, I was just curious. :) I took a look at the code myself but it was so far beyond my knowledge I came and asked lol.
 
Any ETA? Just wondering not being pushy cant wait for it to be working again 3 monks to feed my main : )

I know right, once you get this plugin working smoothly with a full team, its the only way to fly. 3 monk followers exactly what I use as well.. Barb leader with War Cry, 3 monk with with 3 diff mantra, its easy street. I can't wait! My heroes miss each other.. :(
 
Not tested other then the fact it compiles as I don't have to ability to test it. Until there's an official fix give that version ago :P

Amazing man, your fix is working. Thx you! But i dont understand because my leader bot have repair bugged ("dancing" animation) and my follower repair is working lol.
