They didn't start enforcing it today - all my stuff were removed weeks ago.Seems strange this is being enforced today and not before, as the court case is also today *tinfoil hat ON*
Also kind of heavy handed you can't even post links to legal addons anymore imho.
I understood when i bought the bot that i was paying for the bot and not forum access and that forums are indeed not a democracy. It's the nature of forums and i have even said so many times before in posts. Forum access is a 'bonus' if you will, not a right. At the same time this bot and other buddy products would be nothing without it. Just like all bots. It's the community that makes the bot. Not in the sense of coding it but in the sense of making it worthwhile using.
Kick's questing profiles are the only thing the community can not really improve upon. Singular works to a point and is even better now Bobby has taken it over but not all classes work and less than most are worth raiding with.
They got taken down because they broke some Rules. Once those things are settled im sure the CC's will reappear with the full thread
I don't think you understand why the rule was changed in the first place.
Before, we had people would make an awesome profile/plugin/routine/etc. that would work EXTREMELY well in their paid version.
However, these people would post free version that were extremely crippled and essentially forced a person to buy the good version if they wanted it bad enough.
You see, this is why we changed the rule.
And no, we cannot review each case on an individual basis because changes to the rules affect the entire community and exceptions cannot be made.
In a sense, we let the selling of profile/plugin/routine/etc. slide by even though it has always been against the rules.
We have never allowed sales on our forum because we are not wanting to take any sort of responsibility of someone getting scammed/etc.
Please, feel free to sell your work and advertise for it elsewhere.
Just not here.
Sadly, this is true & this rule was needed.
What sucks is that a very good cc got caught up in the fray. I have always been against paid ccs because the free version were usually shit, then I ran across TaunHA's Monk cc... The free version performed very well & the forum page always gave great information/advice, so I recently bought the "donation" version.
Unlike other "donation" items on the forums, TaunHA's forum pages were filled with helpful information from community members & the product was up to date.
I just hope that there is a way that we can take a look at this & find a way to fix it. The rule is definitely need, because there were developers taking advantage of the community. However, this cc & it's developer was different inho.
Taking advantage of the community. You mean the one I have spent countless hours developing for, and providing support to those who need it for simple HB problems/other hb products, and have received next to nothing in return from?I just hope that there is a way that we can take a look at this & find a way to fix it. The rule is definitely need, because there were developers taking advantage of the community. However, this cc & it's developer was different inho.
As soon as the links are removed from his routines, the thread will be visible again.
We're not even allowed to put links pointing to the same version on another website. So that's a noSo CR/plugin makers are not even allowed to put links into their free routines/plugins pointing to websites with paid/better versions now? Seriously, there is such a thing as being overprotective.
And now that you do not allow paid versions you think that much better free versions will be available? Wow, that makes sense.... not....
However, these people would post free version that were extremely crippled and essentially forced a person to buy the good version if they wanted it bad enough.
...
You sir are a genius. Just take my money.honorbudy makes money out of wow and wow dont like it
outside developers make money out of honorbuddy and honorbuddy dont like it
its time for me to start making money out of outside developers but Im afraid they might not like it
But I agree.
Maybe a poll or something would be good.
Why is it bad when somebody also charges some donations for their additional work?
Nobody is forced to pay something extra
Like I said...I knew this was not about Zygor..someone is pissed that people are making money...off your product...omg the irony of that..
What you need to tell the owners of the company is that the 3rd Party Developers MAKE YOUR PRODUCT BETTER!! Thus more people will buy Honorbuddy and the Owner will make MORE money!
It is no different than people buying particular phones because they want access to Apps...No Apps...no phone sales...just go ask Nokia how well that strategy worked out for them...
The entire premise of Honorbuddy trying to protect its IP is laughable to me. The entire business model is to help people violate a TOS..amazing to me...and I bet you will continue to get huge backlash from your CUSTOMERS!
Nothing wrong about that, we insist that ppl charge for good work, we even pay alot to such devs that contributed good plugins, classes, profiles.
Hell, a lot of them work for us since months/years, they started as casual users here.
What we do not like, is advertisement placements in our forums and in our bots.
