WOW Q1 down 2.9 million subscribers, largest fall ever.

Negativity bias at work along with a good serving of confirmation bias, I see the wow forums RIDDLED with it.

Negativity bias - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quite sad so few people are unaware of their own mind. I laugh at some of the drivel I read from people to be fair I laugh in real life too as well as at wow forums. I read too many books.

I've played other mmo's and they quite literally SUCK BALLS compared to world of warcraft, i'm sorry argue all you want but seriously..... wow has it all pretty much. Some things deffo need work though. why are we running in a 10 year old WSG? imo just scrap all old bg's they're done to death and release new ones.
since todays banwave i really wanna know how much further it will drop :P

I seems lik they want to drop their subscriber amount to an even lower number, or this is a desperate attempt to get non-botting players back (do those even still exist?) who quit because of the bots.

Well, they have to protect their game, regardless of subs. They can't just let people bot however they want as too many would use it for really bad deeds.

That said, I only used mine for leveling, as the entire leveling system is pure and absolute trash in this game, the very reason I could never bring any friends on board. As I am totally unwilling to play the game without bot assistance in leveling this is where i step off for good. I was really digging deep to find reasons to play lately anyway, got other games I want to play.

or they wanna take gold off the market, since token are there....

no non-botting players will really quit because of bots. because of the newly introduced game tokens.. 90% of the token buyers are bots, so they already got the money from the people who buy tokens with real money, sell it as gold to bots, and then ban the bots... how perfect

Really think this may be more than a normal wave. Seeing a lot more than usual and more than a few here and on the WoW forums were just fish botters. That's as low-key as you can get.

wait for it. Blizzard is going to have to merge ALL servers together now to make things seem populated. good luck to the 20+ min wait timers to get in BG's now lol

WoW was a good middle of the road MMO. It did a lot of stuff well, but it's never been my favorite MMO in any particular fashion. Would never argue that it was anything other than solid, though up through Pandaria.

As of Draenor I don't think it's what it used to be, sorry. I think they cleaved out a lot of what made their game appealing in order to chase casual subscriptions all without adding anything else to back it up. They also lost a lot of important staff and you're saddled with team members like Jay Wilson; the guy who nearly destroyed Diablo and Brian Holinka, the guy whose previous claim to fame was Homefront, which was a complete piece of trash that helped tank THQ.

The handful of people I know who play MMOs are holed up in Final Fantasy XIV, it doesn't do the Mythic raiding scene or the Gladiator PvP scene but everything else I absolutely do feel it does better than WoW at this point. I quit awhile ago to mess with Draenor but I'm looking forward to Heavensward, myself. I don't think I'll be returning to WoW anymore. Just sick of their model and they haven't really added anything of merit to the game since The BC/early LK heydey. Say whatever *you* want about WoW and other MMOs, I've played a lot and none of them offer up less content and more half assed patches than Blizzard has in recent years. Nothing interesting, unique or challenging is ever put into WoW anymore, it's just the same shit on a loop.

Played since about 2005, still think the most disgusting thing with Blizzard and WoW was the game balance and tuning. It was always on a rotation to encourage rerolls and now to sell boosts. They just sit on broken shit for months and months and months on end, never bothering to touch anything glaring, just reroll and maybe, just maybe, the expansion will address it. The cute thing is now they've got a way to con 20 dollar subs out of people with token sales and the expansion price has gone up 10 bucks, all for drastically less, often rehashed content.

can you show us your source? or did you count them yourself. you may have guessed, and if thats the case, qft a guess is just a lie.

Protecting the game can be done in different ways, sending a wave of bans on everyone including those who does not damage the economy/environment or the game experience for other is maybe taking it a step too far. I'm more curious about how the game will survive by cutting the subscription inncome by 20-30% for the next 6 months is going to treat them.

Its not only 6 month .. most people wont return after 6 months lol . when everyone else has beaten you already to higher ilvl and you will feel your account is nothing . i guess they will lose 90 percent of the banned players

If thats how they're choose to run their business plan so be it. To me it sounds ridiculous how they chose to tackle the problem as they're definitly going to shorten the game's lifespan by taking away people who actually managed to enjoy the game by not having to spend hours doing questing to be able to reach that point.

I had game time tell jan 2016, i wonder if it will still remain when i come back in nov? It was paid for with gold.

Run my fish bot once every 2 weeks for 2-3 hours. And I monitor it. But botting is botting I guess.
