I love reading all these posts, I apparently missed out on the May banwave as I was most likely in hiatus from botting (busy doing other things). My reason for botting is because I love the concept of botting. WoW has gone from a game of fun and adventure in my mind to a game of requiring to 'grind' in order to actually get anywhere, so botting is a natural progression. The one thing I do enjoy in the game is the high level raiding to which I still do (prior to the recent suspension), on one character that I do play manually. That's just me. Personally I don't care about being banned, its easy enough to start over, level a character to max in a day or two and start over (especially with the boost you get when you purchase a new licensed copy of the game), and I can do what I do and carry on. I have never botted for any financial gain, (with the exception of earning enough gold to buy the wow tokens for my subscription), I bot purely for entertainment of being able to bot, I do some of my own scripting with HB, nothing that I have ever 'released' as often there is better out there anyhow, but I do it because I enjoy learning. WoW isn't even the only game I bot with.

What I see is typical in these threads is a bunch of people who are getting upset about losing their accounts to bans/suspensions and blaming Bossland or getting upset with Blizz for banning accounts in the first place. The ToS clearly states that using 3rd party programs to automate tasks in the game is not allowed and will result in suspension or bans. Remember that we are all choosing to break the ToS, regardless of what 'reasons' you want to throw out for botting (and lots are valid reasons sure), but regardless, I think all this crying and blaming others is ridiculous. You all need to start taking responsibility for your own actions, your actions included botting, live with the consequences instead of trying to throw blame on others. If you don't want to get banned for botting, don't bot. Simple as that.

Yeah. Tell me you wouldnt cry if you got banned 3 times on 3 battlenet accounts in 1 week because of detection. You sir, are maybe talking about a ban every 6 months.. which is fine.. but i was actually banned with "safe" stuff that have been safe for 6 or more months. all in 1 week!

Yeah something should be done about these banwaves. It's very frustrating. I botted for a month and a half and I feel very disappointed with the situation. I remember when HB was totally undetected and only bans came from player reports and there were no banwaves and appeals worked. Now two banwaves in 6 months. Just wow. I feel unreal.

Recoding is a waste of time.
Blizzard will download the recoded bot and get the information they need again. Just like they did with current bot.
Recoding isnt a waste of time. if you know how coding works you wouldnt think its so easy to get the information from a compiled program, one of the possible reasons why they were so easily able to find the people could of been the source code they got from sbuddy which might use the same code as hbuddy, but recoding it could and most likely will help the bot stay hidden.

What we really need is a class action law suit. Stating that Blizzard seeks to be "Anti-Competitive" because the Bot allows you to level a character and not have to buy their "Boost". That the bot allows you to farm gold instead of buying tokens. That you can farm gold afk for tokens that sell while afk. Basically they have all these rules to block you from doing things with the bot you can do with there services. That they have purposefully engineered the game in such a manner as to be forced to use there services or dedicate enormous amounts of time. By banning botters they are acting in a manner that is "Anti-Competitive."!

Gaming is a big money industry and its time some regulations were slapped on how they can block you from playing a game "you" paid for.

You agreed to their TOS which doesnt allow bots, By your logic, Lets join the Olympics then Sue them for not letting us use cars in a race against other runners, why cant we use a gun in the boxing matches, why can we use a bowgun for the archery, why can we use a boat engine for the rowing. Its against the rules that why they dont allow it. you are also agreeing that if you break the rules you get punished. You sir are an Idiot,

I have been permabanned on 6 battlenet accounts, and several suspensions prior to those, and now hit with the latest banwave. I admit the first time stung a little as it was my main account and I had really worked hard over the years to build it up (pre-botting). I don't know what you mean by banned with "safe stuff", but I have even got a permaban on an account that was never even botted on because of a linked credit card. So, no I don't bother worrying too much about bans, but in the end I stand by my statement "You all need to start taking responsibility for your own actions, your actions included botting, live with the consequences instead of trying to throw blame on others. I am sorry to those that got pinched in the latest round, it does suck when you gotta start over or wait for a suspension to be lifted, but you get busted for breaking the ToS, its on you, and no one else. Accept it and move on instead of blaming everyone else for you breaking the rules. So no, I wouldn't cry about getting banned 3 times on 3 battlenet accounts, this last wave is just an excuse for me to take a break for a little while and come back to enjoy the release of Legion and the new content when its available then.

Peace, and happy holidays (see, now y'all have no excuse to spend with loved ones this holiday season :P)

Look, everyone is upset. But the responsibility lies with you and only you. You knew the risks. It's the gamble you took, not anyone else. We all did. Only person to blame is you.

Seriously, put another 20 bucks down and you're back in the game. If your suspensions are causing problems for you socially, ie. your guild, then you should consider having a clean account that you don't bot on. Personally I don't give a shit because I only PvP and can gear up an another alt toon in two days and be right back in there.

I know it's not the answer you want to hear if you feel entitled to ***** the system without consequence but that's the reality. Almost any game developer is going to try to protect the integrity of their game.

What I want to know Is WHY invest time and money into another account at all? The Bot is detected right? it hadnt been fixed since the May bans from what I can see.

But Its definately apparent to me that Blizzard is fine with us doing what we do for short periods becasue they just have folks like you and me (formerly) that go out and buy thier crappy game again and hand them boat loads of cash , only for them to rinse and repeat the same thing over and over ..I am happy to be done with it ...I do enjoy this forum however

we know botting comes with risks. when part of the marketing tells me the bot is undetectable by software, that absolutely affects my calculated decision to bot or not.
if this is being detected with software and no effort is being made to hide it, then of course, i feel deceived. i wont bot again until HB comes out and says it is undetectable again.

Maybe they didn't know it was broken? They probably had just as many questions as you did about detection and such after the May banwave. It isn't a simple thing. Some of these comments are quite good, but some people truly don't understand how difficult it is.

I coded for AT&T enterprise, doing small intraweb network's for enterprise and corporate customers - coding isn't as simple as it seems. Blizzard has access to anything they want at their disposal. They have some of the finest coders in the world building and consulting with them. There are people out there that will blow your mind. George Hotz reverse engineered and built a root in 3 days for a $2000+ bounty on Samsung phones that he documented and released step by step after a community of people couldn't do it in 5 1/2 months.. And it isn't like Blizzard didn't have access to this bot - it's right here.

I know people are pissed off. I lost 2 accounts too.. . But to just place all the blame on Bossland is just crazy. His product got beat, and I can promise you with the litigation he is in with Blizzard, the last thing he wanted to do was watch Blizzard ruin his product. The one I've always questioned as a coder was Bossland's denial of using x64 architecture... I don't code any more, I'm an accountant, I do corporate taxes all day but what little I do know, I'm not totally convinced x64 prevents this either... But here we are.
