mp0 right now. couple minor gear upgrades should get it to mp1 but I don't plan on going any higher than that for efficiency sake.

Until advanced testing has taken place that deals with the increase in higher affix rolls on higher MP's, and factors in the 10% per mp level additional drop from any mob we won't know for certain whats the most efficient.

It's actually 25% mf per level. so you can gain 250% mf from MP10. You then gain another 75% mf from NV. Your character can max at 300% mf (includes paragon, gear, and follower mf) = Total of 625% mf possible for a character.

But I agree more testing needs to be done in a statistical manner to see the benefits, if any.

If you are looking for XP efficiency, it just depends on your character. Barbs like higher MP to sustain fury for example, but most other chars prefer lower. My legacy nat demon hunter with 200k+ dps (without sharpshooter) is rolling around 60-65 mil xp per hour in mp0. The efficiency starts dropping the higher mp I go at that point. mp1 I think is around 45-50 mil xp per hour.

what build do u use for ur DH, addikition? Can you post ur profile so i can check ur gears? Ty :)

For the sake of privacy and a ban hammer on my legitimate account, I will not be sharing a link to my profile.

However my gear isn't that great due to the legacy nat set being somewhat pathetic in stats. So think legacy nats 4 piece, 1300+ crit as socket bow, trifecta gloves, hell fire ring, trifecta ammy, and soon vile ward shoulders.

I do have "DPS" gear to boost to higher DPS, but prefer to run with legacy nats for the disc regen allowing me to constantly vault and farm more efficiently than most DH's without it. As long as you can maintain damage high enough to one shot packs, then you scale up based on that. Currently saving up for a 1300+ dps manticore, which should boost me about 50k dps.

Build wise this is the setup I use: Demon Hunter - Game Guide - Diablo III

Keep in mind this is purely for XP farming and item farming. The point is to move as fast as possible so you need all the disc you can get with +2 disc regen, +disc from items, +preperation.

I've taken a liking to fan of knives so I can vault into a pack, unload it, and move on. Bola is the same way. Fire a couple of Bola's into a mob and move on and watch as they explode in your wake.

So just choose an MP level that is most efficient for particular need and character. I've put in over a 1000 hours on my main, so it will vary based on your experience with the game.

ty for ur information. I did try to use vault few days, but the result is slower than when i dont use it. I dont know why >.<. Im using hungering arrow instead of bola shot, and rain of vengence instead of fan of knives

Yeah if you aren't using legacy nat set with the +2 disc regen per second, it will slow you down and is not worth it IMO. You are better off subbing in night stalker instead of tactical advantage for the passive and focusing on more DPS for faster runs at that point.

By the way that 4th skill is really subjective on what you put there. So you can go fan of knives, rain of ven, turrets, impale, cluster, rapid fire, etc. I like to experiment with that slot.

My dps is fine, i think, around 210k. I think i will try hungering arrow with night stalker :)

I mostly mf on mp1, noted many times in this thread and others as the only mathematically reasonable level to go up to.

However, when Key and/or Organ hunting, I run as high of mp as my character can stand to increase the chances of those items being dropped. I also run a bit more 'surgical' setup to keep runs timely and efficient as opposed to general champion hunting.

Have since jumped to MP6 with the new Monk weapon swapping. Typically did MP4 or 5 with minimal death for the longest time. Not really farming for gold or XP, mainly key runs since they are fairly dynamic and here's to hoping less noticeable to the powers that be. I tend to find a ton of legends and I still have some room to equip my chars so it doesn't hurt to find a nice piece of eq.

Also need a boat load of keys to refine the uber boss profile.

At the moment though, I'm twiddling my thumbs and posting aimlessly in anticipation for DB 1.0.6 to hit.

I have to bot mp2 being a ww barb with 130k dps unbuffed, or else the bot just normally attacks and I gain no fury.

The most efficient MP is dependent on your gear.

Even if you are oneshotting everything in mp0, you are still potentially limited in mp0 due to the max movement speed cap and the max mf cap. Since the movement speed cap is the same in each mp, the only variable is mf.

Do you remember back in the summer of 69 (pre-1.05) when maxing mf was essential to good drops? This was because mf effects your chance to drop a legendary, and also the chance to roll a higher number of affixes on a rare. This is still the case. Items & Equipment - Game Guide - Diablo III

If you have the damage and survivability to efficiently kill and mame above mp0, then it will be more rewarding to do so.

An example from mp4;
Total tracking time: 16h 6m 3s
Total deaths: 5 [0.31 per hour]
Total items dropped: 12906 [801.62 per hour]
- Rare: 2501 [155.34 per hour] {19.38 %}
- Legendary: 22 [1.37 per hour] {0.17 %}

As a rough guide for tweaking efficiency, run for 10 hours to get a baseline figure:
- 0 to 0.5 deaths per hour, then try going up by one mp
- if after new 10 hours, if your total items are below 700 per hour OR rares below 130 per hour OR deaths above 1 per hour, then back down you go and get better gear, otherwise start running in circles and making kaching noises while onlookers point and stare.

The difficult thing is choosing to equip that awesome item rather than selling it. Also when you do get banned, you will lose more $$$ per character. This is perhaps the only good reason to run a fleet of cheap, barely-owning mp0 bots instead. Risk and reward is a whole other story?

So then, the most efficient MP is dependent on your gear and balls..."I like balls".

Do you prefer to sell everything (including blues) or do you prefer just rares? Just curious to how people have their item profiles setup with each MP level.

Ignore blues, Ignore weapons below i62 (base damage is too low).

I pick up all rare jewelry and armor. Now that rolls are based on monster level rather than item level, you could get some i58 gloves with 9iAS, 10CC, and 50CD. Who cares if the armor is a tad lower?

How officially accurate is this? It would change how I bot if this is official.

Found it. Patch 1.0.5 Now Available - Diablo III

That changes everything for me in terms of which MP level I bot. I'm currently botting at MP4 since my barb is too powerful for lower levels but I can get less powerful gear with +GF and larger pickup radius to farm MP0 - MP1. :-)

That also explains why I saw a ilvl 58 ring with amazing affixes.

Thanks

how much do u ahve to spend on a monk or barb to farm those mp4? Do u need to be pretty stacked to be able to do it efficiently and worth your time?
