If you are not going to take this thread seriously and read it all, leave a silly answer, insult anyone or make a stupid joke, please do not even bother reading on and just move onto to another post

I have only been botting coming on 2-3 weeks now and have not even got to the point where I can sell gold yet, but I am eagerly awaiting it and the capital it will bring to open up new bots. I really don't have the experience in this area to make a good call on the following, so I reach out to any veteran botters with years of experience running double figure bots or any developer with some spare time to answer the questions I have. Before I get into it, I am a keen reader of the forums and have seen lots of the same posts in different threads with people just dismissing it which eventually ends up in some form of argument or thread close, I hope that the way I am laying this thread out, it will give the people with the knowledge the chance to give a detailed description of their opinion on the subject without having to shout someone down or defend anything, as I definitely need some sort of knowledge on this topic and I can imagine there are hundreds of similarly minded players in my position wanting to know the same thing.

TLDR; I am not trying to cause any trouble, I literally love the product and it is an amazing piece of software, I just have looked everywhere on the forum and cannot find a good and descriptive answer on the topic

Recently, or at least over the month of so I have read this forum daily, there has been about a 30% increase on ban reports in the ban section which range from all different kinds of botting schedules and specifically over the last few days there have been some rather extreme bans, in my inexperienced eyes anyway. Before I go on, my current understanding of Honorbuddy safety is as follows :-

  • Botting more than 12 hours a day is asking for it, and will eventually result in a ban
  • Due to too many botters in a confined space, BGBuddy is a swift ban
  • Large gold transfers get you banned quickly, trade should never be used
  • DungeonBuddy with random players can be spotted and the reports lead to a quick ban
  • GatherBuddy is safe, but with so many players using generic profiles such has GatherIT, reports come quickly and in result a ban
  • AHBuddy gathers reports quickly and will normally result in a ban within a month, use Battlechests to counter this
  • ProfessionBuddy is safe
  • QuestBuddy e.g. Kicks profiles are pretty safe, but if unsupervised, /whispers and stucks can cause reports and result in a ban

If any of the above is wrong I apologise, reply below and I will quickly change it. So as mentioned above, any ban that lands on one of the points below or if the ban thread made is written by someone who clearly has no idea what's going on, it has seemed pretty normal to me and I have brushed over it without much thought, it has been the bans that do not meet the above criteria and often do not come anywhere close that have stuck out for me, the following examples give an idea of what I talking about :-

For the above examples, a bunch more threads and even some friends, they state to keep to the rules and still receive bans quickly and across multiple accounts, which I was not even aware Blizzard linked accounts together like that. The answer could be a number of things, the most simple answer being that posters are bending the truth being in the moment after getting a recent ban, but I really have no experience to know if that is the case, so I make this post to reach out to the people who do have some insight on this. The main thing that concerns me is the Kicks bans, I have read on many threads, mostly over a month old, that Kicks is incredibly safe and it results in a ban on a very rare occasion, could it be that this is no longer the case?

I can imagine the first thing a lot of people will want to say is, 'Don't bot if you don't want to get banned' but just because there is a chance you are going to get banned, does not mean you should not try and identify what is causing the bans and in result how to avoid them. Now to the question :- Taking the above in consideration, do you think that there has been an increase in bans recently and what do you think is causing it if so? If it is not the case, could you please describe what is going on with the ban section at the moment and why there are more and more ban reports each day? Please give as much detail as possible, as mentioned above, there are lots of people in the same situation that really would benefit from hearing either a warning or a descriptive reason to why we are just as safe as 2 months ago

Thank you, and I look forward to any serious answers

  • Botting more than 12 hours a day is asking for it, and will eventually result in a ban - people play manually more than that. I bot 14-16 hrs per day with breaks, no bot has exact same schedule, few hours apart.
  • Due to too many botters in a confined space, BGBuddy is a swift ban - Yes, now too many bgbuddys, its being fixed by hb team I think. new profiles
  • Large gold transfers get you banned quickly, trade should never be used - Some chinese buyers ask for that, and then you simply buy a vanilla acc, withdraw from your gbank, leave guild, trade chinese, maybe ban.
  • DungeonBuddy with random players can be spotted and the reports lead to a quick ban - Everything can lead to a ban, I've been kicked once with dungeonbuddy, ppl dont say "omg bot" they say "omg retard"
  • GatherBuddy is safe, but with so many players using generic profiles such has GatherIT, reports come quickly and in result a ban - No, use a good schedule, don't run same profile for months. My EU bots has been using his profiles for months, not even 3 hrs ban.
  • AHBuddy gathers reports quickly and will normally result in a ban within a month, use Battlechests to counter this Never heard something this wrong. My AHBuddy unbanned since cata.
  • ProfessionBuddy is safe Yes
  • QuestBuddy e.g. Kicks profiles are pretty safe, but if unsupervised, /whispers and stucks can cause reports and result in a ban Why kicks profiles? there's plenty of profiles, not like they are less safe, walk path is from hb. Use LogMeOut! plugin for example, after 5 whisps, log out, after being targeted, log out...

The reason more people are banned, I think is from more hb users, many bot bad without any security. I haven't been banned, I don't write in success storys "I haven't had a ban since vanilla!!!". You only hear those who have been banned. If it was only 1 hb user and he got ban, only 1 thread would be entire community banned. Now you dont know how many people use HB, that way you cant say there has been a 30% increase

incorrect, bot smart, only bot CTA find out which bgs work the bet with the bot (like ab its flawless) and watch it bot, dont afk if you afk you'll get ban most likely

DungeonBuddy with random players can be spotted and the reports lead to a quick ban
incorrect, i just level 6 toons to lvl 80 with raf (2 on each account) with DB no comments in party or and suspicious movment, again you neeed to watch it, it CAN get stuck.
i even ue it on my hpally to farm heroics.

  • HAHA this made me chuckle so true!!! ive just botted 3 accounts RAF to 85 doing dungeonbuddy alone and the main problem is tank not pulling mobs back and accidently pulling 2 packs of 4 My only advice to Dungeonbuddy is be the HEALER or DPS never tank unless you are running a party of 3 (1tank 1 healer 1 dps).

But seriously Ive botted on my main account since glider days Pirox and now Hornobuddy and honestly Ive never had single ban sometimes my bot has been running 24/7 for 2 weeks while Ive been on holiday.

It depends on the account i think if its a personal account the chances are super slim because of long term activity money the account has generated for blizzard (in my case an account since day1 of wow).

if you setup an account purely for botting i think they can flag that it dont take a genius.

Thank you for your answer Soul, it was exactly the sort of reply I hoped I would get. I myself thought it may have something to do with the increased use of HB, do you think this itself will lead to new problems? For example the Diablo 3 banwave as 70% of the population was using Demonbuddy.

On a side note, directed at biller72, how exactly did you get your Dungeonbuddy to work well like that? I did setup raf, but the disc priest just followed badly whilst dpsing (he was the follower) he never even tried to heal anyone

I think beginner botters will get bans, complain, eventually learn how to do avoid bans, but banning will always continue, always new people start bot.

I followed that guide down to the word and it still didn't work on the follower, anything you have to choose to make it go into healer mode?

My personal opinion is that more and more people get banned cause:

Last year or so the amount of people boting has grown, as well as alot more normal players have learned how to spot them.
BGbuddy is the only botbase that you should be afraid/avoid to use, when it came out it was decent due to the fact it was only 1-2 bots per bg and people didnt notice it then.

Jumping in here sorry, ive just leveled 3 chars to 85 in under 3 days with dungeonbuddy running a group of 3 druids (Tank, Healer, DPS)

Make sure in bot config of dungeonbuddy you have your group leader set and then party members added for all accounts/bots) also set follow distances diffrently for example 8yards 6 yards 12 yards just so they dont run around on top of eachother.

Also make sure the correct role is set per char dont just press "I" on wow interface group the party up first and right click the char name and set role there.

My Resto Druid has been the best it followed perfectly and healed amazingly! its all down to spec and specialization also your CC.

My Tank would be Guardian spec and using Singular (safest CC for tanking in dungeonbuddy)
My Healer would be resto spec and using Singular (same again safest CC for dungeonbuddy)
My DPS would be Feral using FPSMultiplicity (amazing DPS CC)

Click start on group leader first the others will be invited to group and role checked.
obviously if you change spec you need to reboot honorbuddy for that account so the correct CC loads.

hope this helped.

I will try that out now and post back with results.

Thanks

Also common issues with dungeonbuddy on latest release if bots not moving follow these steps:

1. You have to go into your Dungeonbuddy bot config and set Autoupdate scripts to false, if you don't this won't work
2. Go to your \Honorbuddy\Dungeon Scripts\Classic\Dungeons folder
3. locate the file Deadmines.cs open it with an editor, like notepad, delete everything inside it and save.
3. Goto your \HonorBuddy\Dungeon Scripts\Mists of Pandaria\Raids folder
4. Open the 2 files in there, delete all text inside them and save.
5. start Honorbuddy, and as long as those 3 files dont auto updated, it will work.

Yeah I had tried that, is there anyway to make it take the instance quests as well?

EDIT

I have got it working, I guess changing the distance and roles did it, thanks a bunch; would be awesome if you knew about the quests though

One of the things is repetitiveness. Its very easy to get lazy and just do same thing over and over. I fall victim to that some times.

I try to mix it up some. Instead of non stop herbing, go skinning, or rep grind.
Even go do a few dungeons by hand. Try to chat once in awhile with guild mates. Strike up a convo with strangers. Just appear to be human.
Some times I will just let person stand afk in org. Anything to avoid the pure farm. Where every second that account is on. Its farming. Yes its best for making gold. But its not as human either.

Not sure if helps but I try to be helpful to others. If someone in guild needs some mats I will give it away. My opinion is leaves trail of mats going to several people instead of just between bot accounts. And cod customers.

I used to be real active on every account when just ran 3. Would let 2 run, while played by hand on 1. Then next day switch.
Now Im running 6. Seems just dont have enough time with working full time job. Takes all time got just to babysit each one as quest. But I still try to seem active on them. I have most in random guilds. To get guild benefits. I like joining the spam invite guilds. Most time they full of retards that dont talk much. So a bot fits right in.

Other thing is try to use own made profiles. I did lose an account using the GatherIT profiles. Was first one to hit 90. Didnt wanna take time to create own profile. So just got lazy. Ran it for 3 days never more then 3 hour sessions. Got perm ban.

Ive been botting long time. But not making it rich so not sure if considered successful. But havent really tried till recently. Before I was just for self. To have all mounts, best gear. Bragging rights. But now Im pure gold making $ profit. I got bored with game.

To be frank i was looking at the same kinda of tips from veteran players... so far my only concern is the fact that i play on a very high pop EU alliance server and the HB behavior will be most likely noticed my player in a high traffic area like Kung Lai Summit .. i do fear that even if your using your own profile you`ll most likely get reported by the un-human movement/logic from the bot

need many reports, after a few months you might get banned(I havent been on EU), enough money for a (50) new.
