The Rune of Re-Origination Icon Rune of Re-Origination trinket has fundamental implications for the Windwalker playstyle, so we feel we should cover it in more detail.
The proc of this trinket calculates the sum of your three secondary statistics (Mastery Rating, Critical Strike Rating, and Haste Rating), and then adds this sum to the highest of your secondary statistics. When this happens, the other two secondary statistics are reduced to 0. The buff lasts 10 seconds, after which time your statistics return to normal. We will give you an example so you can better understand how this works.
If, before the proc, you have 8,000 Mastery Rating, 4,000 Critical Strike Rating, and 4,000 Haste Rating, then you will have the sum of your secondary stats (8,000 + 4,000 + 4,000 = 16,000) added to your current highest stat (Mastery Rating in this case). This will give you 24,000 Mastery Rating for 10 seconds. At the same time, your Critical Strike Rating and Haste Rating will be reduced to 0.
This proc is important because if you get a very large amount of Mastery Rating, then your Tigereye Brew Icon Tigereye Brew gains a lot more power. The ideal way to use this trinket is as follows.
When the proc happens, you should use the 10-second duration to pool up as much Chi as you can (ideally to the maximum capacity) and then pool your energy. Right before the proc expires, you should use your Tigereye Brew (ideally with 10 stacks). When the buff expires, your stats will return to normal, but your Tigereye Brew will retain its power based on the amount of Mastery you had when you cast it. This means that you will now do DPS with your normal stats, but with an extremely powerful Tigereye Brew.
For this to work, in addition to tracking your procs, you also have to make sure that your Mastery Rating is the highest of your three secondary statistics. For optimal results, your Critical Strike Rating and Haste Rating should be as close to Mastery as possible, with Mastery only slightly higher (this is because, outside of Tigereye Brew, Mastery does not provide you with any benefit whatsoever).
