A rise of 40c isn't a huge increase.. but noteworthy nonetheless. I'm hopeful.

It is over an 11% increase in one day. That is significant in the fact that the price will keep increasing.

Plus any increase at this point is worth noting for sure.

I'd say it is a combination of demand with an attempt to "hedge their bets" to get the price up a bit before the floodgates open on launch day.

People are creatures of habit... Look at what happened when Wrath launched and the same thing will happen here at Cata (as far as the curves go... Who knows if it'll end up more or less expensive then before).

the spammers on my realm are advertising USD $5.00/1k.... good for me cuz all the private buyers i have are willing to pay about $1.00 more for having it done safely and privately so im sellin $6.00-$7.00 now per 1k..... in the last 24 hours i have moved over 60k at $6.00 per!

I sold gold for $4/1000g to private buyers and $2.50 - $3.40 to sites during the peak. Now I am getting quoted $1.10 to $1.20 for sites.

I wonder if this is chalked up to Cataclysm making it "totally easy to get gold now". (I haven't personally played it so I dont know, I just bot it)

Perhaps once people finish leveling all of their toons and start focusing on professions and raiding, the prices will rise a bit?

Or, perhaps thats the end of it and prices will stay the same / drop.

You can find more gold buyers (private and gold sites) buy posting or looking on certain WoW "exchange" forums. I'm not sure that I am allowed to refer to them but if you want to message me on AIM, I will give you some info.

But I must say I think this expansion has been very underwhelming in how players have received it. And there really isn't what a normal expansion would have in terms of content, depth of crafting, etc. so there really are no gold sinks, and it's easier than ever to quest, earn gold, etc.

Cata is imo about to destroy the market, I pray to lord it won't but there's no hope right now, it hasn't even been a week and prices on EU atleast are gonna soon hit under $1/k at this rate.

A "career" in botting is about to come to an end folks.
