I haven't played Diablo in over a year, back then DHs where kings... whats it like now?

I've always like botting on a condemn sader.

There will be huge changes next patch so things will change a lot

currently before season 3 demonhunter. grift 43+ in time with current version of trinity from assembla or trinity fork from buddyme.

There are no true kings, as many players can out perform other players with ease. If anything Patch 2.2 just adds to more factors with the speed of killing things.

An all round decent class will be Barb, high toughness, good damage, and soon to be, reasonable singletarget/aoe capability.

DH is a glass cannon, but it really does kill fast in groups, perfect for those who are interested in botting Grift 35s and T6s, and group play.

Monk is decent damage, great solo and group playability and is an effective group member.

Magic casters, I have no input with the magic users as such.

Barbarian for grifts, DH for T6. WD pet for both because it's my favorite class, T6 and grifts are pretty smooth and would probably be best in HC in my opinion.

ive botted hardcore since the start of loot 2.0, only class ive had success with is pet doc.
with this set and life leech dogs hes been unstoppable
t6 rifts /27ish grifts, all my pieces were near perfect/perfect
i hope to switch it up a bit, going to be interesting to see if i can get close to this survivability with fitting in the new items
but the combo of ice climbers, unity, blackthornes is BEAST

please share any other classes you have exp with fellow hc botters. i also am interested in dh, but again i know i cant hope to come close to this god set/build.

meepo604 has the idea, that's what I use except now I'm using zuni 6 piece sacrificing the moj/carnevil/tiklandian for zuni helm so I can have unity/rorg rings, hellfire amulet with good passive, t&t gloves, aughild's chest/bracers, smk, witching hour. Gettin 3 billion xp/h in T6 right now.

A fully botted crusader cleared grift 46 for me while AFK. I had one of each spec (condemn, pony and heavens fury) which was pretty similar in terms of strength.

In 2.1 a Raekor's barb with Ancient Furnace and optimized gear got me as much as 3.7 billion xp/h with the right mobs and layout. I was more interested in pushing Grifts and the highest I got was 43 afk.

This season, I'm curious to see how Immortal King's with Whirlwind will be and the Bul Kathos sword set.

I started a seasonal wizard just to get going. Is a barb or crusader smoother to bot with? I can't tell what the bot handles best. I know DH is good, but I think wizard has more range. I never focus on pushing grifts just speed until I'm geared and legendary gems are leveled.

They all have their issues imo. Most of it has to do with avoidance and settings like minimum mob density. I am currenlty working on a melee wizard but we'll see what happens.

Before the season started I experimented with Wizards, my favorite class, using 6p Tal's and I noticed the bot doesn't consistently use the skills enough to keep the buffs/resistances/meteor's rolling. Until an optimized skill set for Wizard appears and someone adjusts Trinity to perform using those skills properly, it will be a little random.

My proposed set-up strictly for botting would be (If I was solo playing by hand this is also the build I would use.):

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#WYfihc!RhZW!aZccZZ

It's a melee wizard with a focus on Mammoth Hydra and aspd for breakpoints. The skill choices are there so that the fire blades casting and buffs are uninterrupted.

Helm:Tal
Shoulder: Leoric (revive chance)/Aughild (dmg reduction)
Amulet: Tal
Chest: Tal
Gloves: Tasker and Theo
Wrist: Lacuni (aspd) / Parthenon (dmg reduction)/ Aughild (dmg reduction)
Belt: Tal
Pants: Tal
Boots: Nilfer for meteor damage
Ring 1: Unity for survival
Ring 2: Halo of Arlyse for survival
Weapon: Serpent for 2 hydras
Off-Hand: Tal

This is similar to what Jaetch used for 65 4p grift but for botting purposes we focus on survival because the bot is not perfect. You can find Jaetch's thread in the D3 wizard forums.

How much exp per hour? I didn't have all the pieces but 2.5 billion xp/h was possible expect lower around 2 billion. With all the gear maybe 3 billion+.
How high of a grift? With poor gear I capped off at about 36 possibly higher with luck.

I haven't even hit 70 in seasonal yet but the build and gear is what I will aim for. What legendary runes with your build? The randomness is okay, it's when it lacks to use the skill at all or the skill you equipped causes the bot to continuously move forward without attacking monsters.
