ShamWOW for HB - All Shaman Specs for Solo+Dungeons+Raids+PVP by Bobby53

Hi Bobby53,

• HonorBuddy Mode: Questing
• Shamans Location: Goldshire
• What should have happened (be specific): Using special abilities in the rotation (i.e. Lightning Bolt)
• What did happen (be specific): Toon was primarily just auto attacking (and repeatedly dying)
• Computer time of problem or log mark (not realm time): 2:35pm

I followed the install instructions and deleted all Shaman-related CC and settings files, did a fresh install of ShamWOW and my toon primarily only auto attacks (instead of using abilities like Lightning Bolt). The mobs aren't taking much damage at all and my toon keeps dying.

Any idea what I've done wrong?

Edit: Went with Singular until level 10, picked Enhancement and switched back to ShamWOW. Working great now.

Was curious if you've had time to look at this (I didn't see a reply). I ran into this issue again today when leveling my new Pandaren Shaman. I'm not sure if Pandas are supported, but he wouldn't face mobs (even when I set "Disable Movement" to "Never").

rockingdude, Thank you for the detailed post. I'll review this again in greater detail tonight, but it appears the issue is related to running ShamWOW with the LazyRaider Lock Memory option enabled. Please uncheck that setting in Bot Config and see if you still get the issues. -Bobby53

Sorry Bat, I thought I had replied to you as I remember reading and researching, but I can't find in the the forum so my apologies on that oversight! Based on the original log file and details provided, it appears that the HB API LocalPlayer.IsAutoAttacking is returning false even though it is currently auto attacking as you mentioned, so it keeps casting that ability. I didn't see that when I tried but will give it another go tonight. Either way, I'll provide a work around for that issue in the next release. And yes, Pandaren was the first Shaman I leveled when testing ShamWOW in MOP to make sure there were no issues. Support for Quaking Palm was missed though so is in the next release. -Bobby53

Hi there,

Brilliant work, this cc, but I do have a few questions about ShamWOW on the Combat-bot mode.

Using combatbot on a target-dummy (lvl90) at the Shrine of the Two Moons.

Starting manually with Ascendance, Blood fury, Elemental Blast and then ShamWOW takes over.

However :

1. Elemental blast is never being used by ShamWOW. Is this by design?
2. Unleash elements is never being used by ShamWOW. Is this by design?
3. Ascendance is being cast, but it "staggers" when trying to cast Lava burst, resulting in extremely poor DPS.

Could this be adjusted with parameters of did I hit a few bugs?

Checked latest versions changelog, and it says there:

*new* - Elemental - support for Ascendance, Unleashed Fury, Elemental Blast

It doesn't use elemental blast from what ive tested in combat bot.
Also fulmination doesn't work at 7 stacks(since first mop release).

Big list of problems with resto spec also( will post them, if its not related to what ive wrote below)

But all that is possibly because im using russian client ? I didn't find at first post where it states that it only supports english client.
I used your cc before mop on rus client and it was like 95% all good and resto healing in bgs was the best, with no problems. But after first mop release i see that a lot of functions don't work, that are listed as working in changelog(elemental blast, flumination, healing stream totem and some more).
In clu and singular flumination is working, but not in shamwow for some reason.

rockingdude, Thanks for the effort and the feedback, but the issue isn't the bot per se. The messages in the fragment above also don't indicate an error (those are simply trace messages from the HB LUA Event Bridge.) The problem you were having is using ShamWOW with a bot that employs a memory locking technique that attempts to improve performance. For some components however, like ShamWOW, it can have a detrimental effect. Please use LazyRaider with the Lock Memory setting disabled and attach a log for that if you still have the issue. This applies to use of DungeonBuddy as well (which also has a Lock Memory option which defaults to 'true'. Additionally ShamWOW only supports LazyRaider for manual assist botting. You are free to use others, but since they are degrees of the same thing, LazyRaider duplicates RaidBot behavior if setup correctly, has an option to allow disable locking memory which isn't available in RaidBot, and I only have so many hours of personal time to spend supporting this, I only support LazyRaider usage. For setup and usage of ShamWOW in different environments, see the FAQ linked earlier which covers this information. Thanks for the post and good luck with your Shaman, Bobby53

Aetheric, Thanks for the post. I will look into when I get home later today. In this circumstance, I can look into the Elemental Blast and Ascendance issues. I am not clear on what you are referring to Lava Burst staggering however. I'll take a look at the Lava Burst casts after any Ascendance cast, but it would be helpful if you could identify a specific time this stagger event occurred and describe a little more about what you are seeing for me. You are receiving this reply because the symptoms described in your post do not contain the information I need to research this for you, and the description does not match the results of my testing. Please carefully read and follow the steps in FAQ #1 of the ShamWOW Frequently Asked Questions [CLICK HERE] so I will have all the information needed to research that behavior for you. If you receive this same reply to a second post you make on the same issue, it indicates at least one piece of information mentioned in FAQ #1 is missing. Edit: And no, there are no known language localization issues with ShamWOW, so it should not be the Russian client. However, I have no idea if one was introduced or what other factors that may be impacting your ShamWOW experience without the post containing the info described in the FAQ. I'll keep an eye out for any follow up post from you on this matter.

Bobby, I quoted you because I turned Memory Lock (Frame Lock) off. Is there any other settings I should change? I have done RaidBot like, and even lowered the FPS to 15, and I still get that spam in my log during periods of no activity. In fact, it doesn't just stop casting LB, it will even stop casting heals, even when party members are dying.

What should have happened (be specific): Target in combat mobs.
What did happen (be specific): I have noticed it will not attack any mob that is currently attacking a cd pet like wolfs or fire elemental, It will just stand there while your pet dies or runs out.
I have also just noticed alot of the time it will target a dead mob and be getting attacked yet doesnt change target just stays targeting the dead mob and then dies.

Hey bobby, seems like when ever my guy decides to cast Ascendance he just spams it until the buff runs out. He does cast some other spells every once and a while. You can see it happen at 15:28 or at 15:37 in the log file. I also seem to be getting the "ERROR: Could not add combat log event filter! - Performance may be horrible, and things may not work properly!" (at 15:27). Just thought I would let you know. Love the CC.

I compressed the file so I hope this works, all Ive noticed is that it isnt refreshing Earth Shield on the tank, and its not fully refreshing Riptide and getting the Tidal Waves buff. I dont know much about codes and editing, but I have Riptide glyphed, and being able to have full Tidal Waves almost 100% of the time would be very beneficial.

The CC seems very irratic; Sometimes it will properly use spells (Lightning Bolt, Primal Strike, Earth Shock since he's a level 7 Panda Shammy,) and sometimes he will just sit there auto attacking..

What should have happened (be specific): Should properly use rotations, even Lightning strike spamming is stronger than autoattacking. It's not even healing itself at 50% as set with the bot.
