Dude, think autonomously, don’t repeat propaganda slogans. Firstly - Yes, by definition Government is non profit organization, however, i assure You that membership in this organization is very profitable. Not only they are being paid well for their work, but also they earn many benefits from lobbyists - semi legal (such as salaries for lectures, cuts from sales from publishing books - these are just methods of laundering bribes) or illegal. Secondly - are You aware of national debt ? Its loanans that Your country is taking all the time to be able to pay for its expenses. Article iv provided in my recent post clearly shows that Australia as state is in heavy debt, and that in recent Years that debt is raisng drastically.
The final effect of this debt you can view in case of Grecce, which is on the brink of bankruptcy. In such case, bankrupted country is forced to rise taxes (as if this debt was made in citizens name) and cut many social services, because there its not possible to pay for them anyway. And im afraid that judging from mentioned article, Your country is recently on the best way to state of bankrupcy. The reason of this is simple – in theory, social services for ordinary ppl should be paid from taxes paid by rich ppl (whi is what You called redistribution of “wealth of a nation”– however there is no wealth of a nation, or at least not enough to pay for socialist state needs so it is forced to get its hands on private wealth). However those ppl have enough money to afford for avoiding paying taxes by hiding their profits from state or simply passing laws which cleverly used allow them to legally pay vastly reduced taxes. Furthermore, money which are gathered from taxes, are passing through state beureucracy, which is simply stealing/wasting large part of it. So in the end, ordinary citizens, which are at the end of this food chain, have to pay more for getting less, because they cant hide their profits like rich ppl. Its even worse – despite taxing lower classes heavily, socialist state still needs more money, therefore taking constant loans. Thirdly - so if i understand correctly, You are paying taxes, and then You still have to "borrow" money from the state to pay for Your studies ? Well i think that if You and Your parents werent forced to pay high taxes, You could at least afford to simply take loan from commercial bank, if not just pay from savings which You could afford to create due to reduced taxes. Furthermore, this system would be more fair, because if You weren't studying, you would not have to pay, in current situation You are paying same tax regardless if You are studying or not.
Im not saying about xpacs, but smaller patches whitch are released every 1-2 months. Does other free games, and i mean trully free, not with microtransactions, get so much of it as did D 3 get from its premiere ? WoW and D3 might be separate divisions but they are still part of one company.
And im not sure if comparison of D1, D2 and Starcraft to current games is right, remember that we got world economical crysis running rampant throught the world so companies must search for new ways to maximize profits. Besides, Blizzard is private company which invests in what gets most profits, so i prefer them to make few extra bucks from gold sale fees and maitain current interest in D3, than think of devoting more resources to other projects which might seem more profitable in situation You desire.
