[Release] Honorbuddy 2.0.0.3120

I went on vacation for a Week came back to play wow and went to run hb and it comes up with C:\Users/Admin/desktop/HB3120/Honorbuddy 2.0.0.3120/honorbuddy.exe

The Directory Name is invalid.

I don't know what could have changed for you, but...
Windoze requires backslashes(\) not slashes(/) as directory separators. It gets really fussy about this at times. So whatever you're using to launch Honorbuddy that way needs to be corrected. Is it a Windoze 'shortcut'?

When M$soft stole the idea of tree-structured directories from Unix/Multics, they changed the '/' to '\' for some inane reason, and the world has been suffering ever since. Thank goodness the Web made them conform with their browser, at least.

cheers,
CJ

for me it works flawless. been botting 24/7 the last week without ANY errors.

Its easy for lines of thinking to fall into this trap.

There are so many variants to consider: Windoze itself comes in many flavors, .NET framework variations, network proxy settings, OS patchs, and third-party drivers. People use different forms of anti-virus, malware protection, and background services. Machine capabilities vary wildly with the amount of memory available, processor cores, raw Megahertz.

In short, because things work for one person does not mean that everyone has that success. So, each report must be taken as a 'good faith' effort to identify a problem that needs to be isolated and eliminated.

One must realize that, unlike any other app out there, Honorbuddy/Gatherbuddy is not a stand-alone product. They require another product, the WoWclient, to function. There is no official, supported API for communication between these two, thus there will always be problems with this arrangement.

Over time, the Buddy products may be written more defensively to look for the common areas of problems, and ask your permission to 'correct them' at install or launch time. But for right now, the team is focused on eliminating bugs and adding features--no time left over for defensive programming.

It will get better, eventually. But, it will take time. "It works for me" does not mean the product isn't experiencing problems.

cheers,
CJ

Anyone having mounting issues on this release? My characters enjoy running long distances without mounting on this release :(

for me it works flawless. been botting 24/7 the last week without ANY errors.
and feel free to use another bot of course, if you dont like HB :)

dont say it works 24/7 because it crashes sometimes and those stupid POI errors with pulling and more you cant bot 24/7 with those errors and dont say your a noob cant instal it yes we and i used glider back in days only this bot i have problems with botting over nite its just because of those errors i wil use it again when those are solved i like this bot alot dont get me wrong but dont say its stable with so many issues and poi errors with my other bot i didnt crashed overnite

when trying to run honorbuddy for the first time since i reformatted my comp i keep getting could not load file or assembly system.core, version=3.5.0.0, culture=neutral publickeytoken=b77a5c561934e089 or one of its dependencies. te system cannot find the file specified

The bot still doesn't open chests for me on a german wow client. Can't provide a log because there is nothing about the chests in it, it seems that he doesn't even realize there is a chest to loot.

lockjaw, Could you take a look at this remedy, and see if that could be your problem? If that doesn't fix it, could you please post your log.

Mario27, could you please post your log, too?

thanks!
CJ

This release has worked flawlessly thus far, except for one issue. 95% of the time I do not run unattended. However, over the past few days, I've had some issues that's called me away for an hour or two while I was botting. Upon my return, I pop up the screen to see that my character is running around, killing stuff, and questing with the "Away" tag present. Is there something I have done wrong? Some setting that I've missed? What can I do to keep my character from going to afk status while botting?

Good for you. F*ck off.

wow..what is your problem?

@ the others flaming me: i am sorry that the bot works for me :/ the last 2 days its running straight without breaks in mixed mode. done 40 bgs today. not a single error.
:) just wanted to fill the thread with something else than "mimimimimi my bot isnt working"

It's a known patch 4.0 issue. I get [away] on my while playing my character by hand very frequently, so do others.

I'm shooting in the dark here, but two things to try...
  • Do you have .NET3.5 Service Pack 1 installed? Its important that its Service Pack 1, available from here.
  • Are you running the WoWclient and Honorbuddy in Windoze "Administrator" mode?
Maybe the Community has some other ideas. If not, you'll have to get help from Tony.

cheers & goodluck,
CJ

Just noticed this. As noted above, bot will just walk by chests and not loot them.
