Heyo,

I didn't bot on D3 since the last big ban wave (18 january).

I would like to know if DemonBuddy is still detectable? (Software detection).
I can bot as safe as possible, I'm not greedy, and I dont want to be flagged by Blizzard 1sec after execution of DemonBuddy.

Regards

Still safe. I believe that they can't 'detect' demonbuddy, BUT if you look like you are obviously botting and you're caught, you'll be banned. I think.

Blizzard is clearly using server side historistic data analysis to decide which accounts are investigated.

Okay, so actually DemonBuddy is undetectable by "software detection", so if I start it on my account i'm not flagged or other ?

Because when I stopped to bot, after the ban wave, the cause of this wave was this software detection (A friend has been banned after using 20mins DB x) )

Legally speaking, companies are not allowed to scan you machine and send back information to them without your knowledge, if you see this with Microsoft, they let you see the entire report, and choose if you wish to send it or not.

It would be very easy for Blizzard to detect Demonbuddy, actually about 10 lines of code could do it (and i have used this for other scenarios for software i wrote, mostly killing processes), but they could not legally use it, if they are detecting i suspect its people logged into the same account on 2 or 3 servers, or ,multiple connections to a server on the same IP or MAC address, and i know Blizzard would not confirm how they do it

When you accept TOS for world of Warcraft and Diablo III you allow them to scan your machine, don't be fooled otherwise.

This discussion is a very old one. Laws do not permit companies to scan your computer, regardless of what TOS you accepted. They have the right to check their program's memory and see if anything is tempering with it, that's all.

I cant say for other countries but in Australia, It would not matter if you agreed to the TOS or not.. Its illegal to do so and if they did blizzard would be in a world of pain legally speaking..

Its no different if the terms and conditions said to use this software we can or may monitor you and your wife in bed... Its still illegal.

In Australia currently its currently maximum 15 years imprison and or $200,000, Im sure the CEO of blizzard doesn't want is arse fucked for 15 years in prison...

TOS ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW...

So check your local/state/federal law... Not some BS TOS.

The following is currently in Section 7 of the EULA for Diablo 3:

"Consent to Monitor.
WHEN RUNNING, THE GAME MAY MONITOR YOUR COMPUTER'S RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY (RAM) FOR UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAMS RUNNING CONCURRENTLY WITH THE GAME. AN "UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM" AS USED HEREIN SHALL BE DEFINED AS ANY THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE PROHIBITED BY SECTION 2.IN THE EVENT THAT THE GAME DETECTS AN UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM, THE GAME MAY (a) COMMUNICATE INFORMATION BACK TO BLIZZARD, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION YOUR ACCOUNT NAME, DETAILS ABOUT THE UNAUTHORIZED THIRD PARTY PROGRAM DETECTED, AND THE TIME AND DATE; AND/OR (b) EXERCISE ANY OR ALL OF ITS RIGHTS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT, WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE TO THE USER."

And yet another troll, to not say moron.

As mentioned above, TOS/EULA/other shit is not above law of each country.
They may put something like that in their rules but for most, if not every, countires it's not legal to do such thing so stop trolling.

TOS/EULA/ETC just want to keep you living in fear.. BOT IT UP! :)

Please read before posting.... No one said it wasn't in the TOS of the game.. Its pretty clear to all that can read it is...

let me break this down into simple terms.

If i write some software, a game for example called "Donkey hunter" Now i didnt want people to copy my game so i added this into my TOS of my game

" By using this software you agree that i may, Collect credit card details from you computer, and if i feel you have copied my game, Im going to charge your card a total of $800 USD. Please click yes i agree to start the game"

Now Ive added that to my game, I can now charge any one that plays my game that may have copied it 800 bucks.. ??? WRONG.. ITS ILLEGAL TO DO SO JUST LIKE YOUR ABOVE COPY AND PASTE FROM BLIZZARD TOS"

hahahahaha - So adamant about something that people here shouldn't even care about.

let me break this down into ultra-simple terms:
Everyone knows blizz doesn't "like" people botting their games. Regardless of what documentation you guys quote from. If you are reading this on buddy-bot based forums(here) then you have an interest in doing something blizz does not like. Just accept the slim possibility you may get caught and have fun. Break the rules and bot!

There is no need to worry about "look what is says here / look what is says there" if you are that worried over it then you shouldn't be here. :D

This entire argument was settled many years ago when people found out what Warden (Blizzards detection software) was doing. The TOS's wording of being able to scan RAM only applies to RAM that WoW or whatever other blizzard software is running from. If you are concerned about Warden, Nesox has a great summary of it and links to further reading:
Warden and 'The Governor'

This shit yet again,

You agreed to the tos, "THEY DONT SCAN" but they can and may take a snap shot of current processes running, which they state they can/may do in their tos.

Its just the same as me saying, you have an antivirus, youve agreed to the tos, yet you wont allow it to scan your pc, or something similar to itunes and it scanning your data/computer for media or better yet the tracking data iphone pings back without you knowing because its within their tos and you havent bothered to read it.

So on closing they dont scan, they snapshot/can snapshot if required/needed which few users have already posted and commented regarding the same thing.

I'm absolutely not trolling and am not a moron and don't really appreciate being called one.
Blizzard is absolutely legally within their rights to scan memory regarding their software. I don't like it any more than you do. I hate it, in fact, but it's not illegal. They don't scan outside of their own processes (Blizzard processes). It's not something they are CONTINUOUSLY doing, but it is something they legally CAN do if they have reason to.

Correct. They are legally allowed to scan (or basically take a snapshot) of the memory their processes are accessing, as agreed upon when a user accepts the EULA. They aren't continuously monitoring your memory though.

I was adding the info for the OP who didn't seem to know if DB was detectable by software or not. The TOS lines I highlighted were to clarify to him that DB can be detectable by warden if they do decide to use it to scan a users' memory. It is legal for them to do what they do. Warden isn't continuously monitoring every users memory or anything. It probably isn't ever used even once on the greater portion of users.
