Question about software detection

I dont know what county you guys are all from,

But i can assure you ( will provide a link to the case when i find it) in Australia scanning any part of a users computer with the exception of the executable and associated .dll files will put the company in jail and banned from selling any of its software with in Australia. The company that makes autocad had a anti piracy tool attached to there program to detect illegal use of there software. It scanned the users host file and software based firewall to ensure the host file was not modified to block there activation servers as well as many other things, They where fined will in the millions and prevented from selling within Australia for 12 months.

They dont scan like weve said, they can/do take a snapshot of processes, and its clearly stated that they can do so in their TOS.

Regardless of country, if its in the tos and youve accepted then its legal. If however this cad software didnt declare the above info then yes, that is very much illegal.

By your statement youve just said, itunes is illegal when it go's looking for media and anti-virus software is illegal when its scanning.

Once again, just because they have it listed in their ToS, does NOT make it legal to do it.

Both Itunes and your Anti-virus scanner have to be activated by YOU pressing the button, when you hit "Scan" you're initiating the activity. In no way, do you ever hit "Scan my processes" when you're playing D3.

I made a program, in it says "If you accept this, you must murder your son without repercussions" Does that make it legal for you to do it? Just with privacy, they are NOT allowed to invade it because it says they can in a ToS.

What steps should you take to minimize the risk of getting banned using DB? I would hate to lose my Paragon 200+ wiz. :)

Then i should add, Valve aka Steam are breaking the law also by snapshotting and getting your pc spec etc everytime you load up steam, something again you agree to by installing their software. Only difference is, people dont seem to kick off about this and moan because your not botting/hacking steam now are you, and vac is built into their games not the client. If it was built into the client then im sure people would be making just as much noise as they do with blizz right now.

Again this is another discussion that will always be, yes its illegal, no its not, yes its in their tos, no its not

Just search on HB forums for this topic, there is more than enough.

Bottom line is, they do it. Unless its personal info they take, and you can prove that then you dont have anything of substance to argue sadly.

Hey Guys, I was thinking to buy DB, because paragon going very slow after 150... So the question is it safe to bot my main account for leveling purposes only (5-6h/day) ?

You're never safe. But the chances are slim. But they will always be there.

Best step, don't bot on a fresh account. Many people have literally been botting 24/7 for god knows how long by now and as far as I can see the only sound explanation for how this has been possible is because Blizzard only checks your account once and if things look good they whitelist you and move on.

That is an interesting theory. When do they check, I wonder?
