[PAID] [Priest] Insanity - An Advanced Honorbuddy Shadow Priest Routine [PvE/PvP]

Some of the settings are a bit messed up at the beginning but that seemed to be solved after you loaded the PvE.xml file.

The rotation seemed correct on the butcher fight (didn't check further than that, it's a big log). I'll add the old rotation back in with a setting so you can choose yourself which to use.

Awesome thanks, perhaps I've just been really unlucky with crits or such during the past few days. Might just be RNG fighting against me. Will keep trying over the next week and let you know how I get on! :)

Logs from last night and settings file.

Couple issues I see here at first glance.

[10:43:16.939 D] [Insanity ~ Debug] + EnableMovement: True
[10:43:16.939 D] [Insanity ~ Debug] + EnableTargeting: True

If you leave HB movement enabled while running raids your DPS is going to drop, period. Has nothing to do with the CR, it's just that a bot can't move as effectively as a human especially considering there's shit you need to move in and out of...(Edit: Looks like you disabled movement later on). I'd disable targetting as well though...Can't do fight mechanics properly with HB target enabled.

Secondly, I noticed you have Twist of Fate spec'd at the start, I'm assuming you killed Kargath first. You should be spec'd into Power Infusion. This will account for roughly a 10% loss in DPS on Kargath and Butcher.

Other things to note that will have an effect on your DPS:

1.) Movement - Always disable Honorbuddy/CR based movement. Movement should be done manually to avoid it clipping spells for 6 inch movement due to range. Also, always be sure to STRAFE rather than turning and moving whenever possible. Strafing will allow the bot to continue casting your instant cast spells during movement.
2.) Latency/FPS - I experience a significant drop in DPS anytime my latency exceeds 100ms or FPS drops below 12. (I run on a shitty old desktop with crapcastic cable...)
3.) Bad RNG/Mechanics - A rough patch of Crystalline Barrage on Tectus or having to perform stack swaps on butcher, carry flame thrower on Brack, bad fire on Twins, will also drop your DPS an non-insignificant amount.
4.) Kill Strategy - Some guilds use a more conservative 'easier' kill strategy on boss fights than others. Sometimes this forces more movement and can cause your DPS to be sub-par.
5.) Healing/Raid Assist/Shield on Movement - Assisting the raid with emergency heals, shields, or shielding yourself during movement or at lower health will also account for a DPS loss. This doesn't mean don't do it, just know that you won't perform maximum DPS. Sadly, not all of us have amazing healers and sometimes this is needed.

I'll take a closer look later today.

@Xeddzul First of all thanks for showing your set up. Worked very well, the only thing I did change was I stayed with ToF for all bosses as I have Shards of Nothing and didn't find 2x Haste buffs as useful as ToF during execute phase.

Secondly @Millz, u da real mvp

Some success:

Pretty much 90+ percentile for heroic on every fight

This makes me want to have 11 more ilvls really badly. Good call on ToF over PI with Shards of Nothing, hadn't thought about that yet as trinkets seem to hate my priest this xpac.

Isnt it worth to use AoE at 5+ targets? Ur profile is set to 10 target

Hey sir do you mind putting up your glyphs of choice? Currently using Reflective shield (MUST HAVE), Shadow Word: Death (MUST HAVE), Dispersion..

Also we're very very similar in gear stats. Pushing 11.74% Crit, 14.43% Haste, 42.43% Mastery, 15.70 Multi... I am however a few ILVLs higher than you at 663. Testing out in LFR now.

Sure but when do you have 5+ targets, the ability to channel and permission to kill. Ko'ragh is possible. But don't want to go using it before they are in the suppression field, Imp is possible as well but don't want to burn the little adds and blow up the raid on accident.

It's there for me to use manually if needed, the only time I've seen the CR use it with these settings is Imp Phase 4 which is perfect though.

I don't use anything other than reflective shield, nothing else provides a dps gain from what I've seen and I prefer to not kill myself during execute phases with SW:D.

I'd focus a little more on mastery as well If I were you, HUGH DP gains from it...i'm 664 now and ~49% Mastery unbuffed.

Hello,

So you recommend to don't use SWD glyph?

Was re-thinking that and edited that post, I'd have to see some numbers to compare but I do not use it personally.

Millz can you check angelic feather i cant get it to use 3rd charge when running.......it waits till there is 2 charges left and then it uses it again.

Edit: this is out of combat btw....not sure if that matters but havent tested in combat.

Logs from last night and settings file.

Adjustments I would make based on your settings:

General
* Uncheck Enable Targeting
* (Enable Facing) - Remember with this checked, YOU MUST STRAFE, do not attempt to run directly somewhere or you'll face a massive loss in DPS.
Enable Trinkets if you have a clicky or be sure to be doing it manually.

Talents
* HALO - Adjust the range of your Halo so that the minimum is lower. Depending on group stack points on different fights, this might be causing you to not use it at all when it would still be beneficial depending on number of targets.
* Power Infusion - While I like the idea of saving it for insanity, in my experience, this is a bad way to set it up. The problem being that you can make use of it at other times to get DP off earlier to make use of insanity. This might be causing less up time overall throughout a fight. I use it on cooldown. The way you have it set, it'll also cause a DPS loss during execution phase when you could be getting more SW:D's off with a shorter cooldown.
* See my guide for when to use CoP Lite vs CoP Standard vs CoP DoT Weave

Shadow
* Increase the minimum target count for Mind Sear IMPO.
* Increase the MAX DoTs to Cast across the board. I set mine @ 9 and set Mind Sear @ 10.
* Not a DPS thing but will help the raid if you disable the use Vampiric Embrace on Self, and change it to X number of friendly players below 75% (I prefer to cast it manually) but I found running with a 20 man that when 8 players under 75% it was still highly effective.

That should be about it. Nothing major DPS wise, Enable Targeting I see as being the biggest potential problem for you and potentially PI. Don't forget to change your CoP rotation based on each boss fight.

Thanks for the help, got my Mythic Bracken tomorrow morning so I'll give it a go and try to down that damn boss! I'll let you know how it goes and what the dps is looking like with the changes you've said.

Going to try to do a little service work here for Millz as this is hands down the best CR for shadow priests and routinely performs wonderfully for me. Think I've posted in this thread twice and this is not a solicited post but I just feel it's deserved for the amount of works that's been put into this CR (no offense to TuanHA but this is miles ahead of any of the TuanHA CR's I've used on other toons).

First, recommendations for Teir 7 CoP option for each Highmaul fight is below (only for the difficulties that I've completed).

Kargath Normal and Heroic = CoP DoT Weave
Kargath Mythic = CoP Lite (try to make sure you keep both SW:P and VT up on Kargath while DPS'ing the tigers, may not happen with the default CR if you don't switch targets). Be sure to be running Power Infusion/Insanity here as well.

Butcher Normal and Heroic = CoP DoT Weave. Once again, Power Infusion/Insanity.

Brackenspore Normal and Heroic = CoP Standard (I find standard to be best here for bursting Spore Shooters, otherwise you waste DPS getting dots up on them, you may try CoP Lite but I haven't had as much success with it here). Change to Twist of Fate and Insanity.

Tectus Normal and Heroic = CoP Lite, hands down rapes face here, if you're using anything else, you're doing it wrong. Use Twist of Fate and Insanity.

Twins Normal and Heroic = CoP Standard (Lite for Mythic I would think). Use Power Infusion and Insanity

Ko'ragh Normal and Heroic = CoP Standard. I prefer Twist of Fate and Insanity but Power Infusion may actually be really really close here.

Imperator Normal and Heroic = CoP Lite (I know right? Seems weird considering you will waste loads of dps on arcane aberrations, this is true, and depending on your raid group, CoP Standard may be better for the burst on aberrations. My guild has really good burst from melee on the aberrations, they die fast, I simply ignore them during P1-2 and help during P3 if needed. CoP Lite provides better cleave DPS for the Warmages and the P4 transition of the Warmages + Reaver). Twist of Fate and Insanity all day.

Overall, pulled the highest dps for me hands down to the immense amount of movement in this fight. Sadly your burst at the start looks like shit, BUT:

============================================
The Link to Tectus right there I think says it all...That was a 7 minute 30 second heroic kill that took place this evening INCLUDING getting Crystalline Barrage 3 times. The Bracket % (far right) is basically a percentage ranking based on gear. I could link similar results from every other encounter in Highmaul, unfortunately, I'm lazy.
============================================
The Basics

Basically, I'm spec'd for:

Desperate Prayer, Body and Soul, Insanity (always), (teir 4 doesn't matter), Twist of Fate or Power Infusion, Halo, Clarity of Power.

I use Vampiric Embrace manually based on when I think the raid needs it, had it set @ 10 players below 75% which seemed good for awhile, but prefer to save it so I don't overlap when a tranquility or healing tide goes out.

I also use healing tonics instead of healthstones at all times.

As far as gear is concerned, I consider optimal gear to be CoP Standard gear (mastery/multistrike). Unbuffed @ ilvl 662 I'm now sitting on 9.95% crit, 14.48% haste, 44.93% mastery, 20.89% Multistrike, 0.6% Versatility.

3.) Bad RNG/Mechanics - A rough patch of Crystalline Barrage on Tectus or having to perform stack swaps on butcher, carry flame thrower on Brack, bad fire on Twins, absorbing overflowing energy on Ko'ragh, being the branded guy on Imperator, will also drop your DPS an non-insignificant amount.

I've also gone ahead and attached my configuration files that I use for each of these fights. I simply, class config/load profile each time we're moving from boss to boss killing trash.

Any questions, feel free to PM or respond here and I'll reply when I can.

Thanks very much for posting this - it's great to get some guidance about the best methods running on HM. Keep it up.

Just wondering if anyone has some RBG/Arena tuned settings that are more optimized?
I'm currently gearing my Shadow Spec now But I recall last season using other optimized settings which was a slight damage increase! :)

Could someone create different settings for each fight and post? That would be amazing! And it switches talents aswell!

Doh, will fix it.

Also do I need to target anything while using or will it target for me the corrrect adds to dps

You need to pick the targets. Auto targeting will just pick any valid target when your current one becomes invalid. It doesn't pick the 'best' target.

Can you make a toggle for single target mode or something? Our Ko'ragh stray involves kiting the adds around and not killing them until after the second vulnerability but I can't seem to be able to keep the CR from dotting them up.

Anyone who have a profiles to do much damage? i have at problem with til PVE profiles, it not doing more damage then the standart profile from honorbuddy. Any setup?
