Possibly porting over my Gatherbot - No waypoints needed Thoughts?

This reminds me of THIS project in a way. Anybody remember this? It was an excellent resource to use when making/modifying profiles. You could completely customize any profile easily. I digress.

This looks like a really nice project swiny. Let me know if I can help out in any way.
 
me being a noob what doe sthis actuall mean for us?
i understanding you saying no need for waypoints but does this make gathering more effient and faster etc.
be nice to understand what this can do for the average user

You will be able to create, edit, make your own waypoints.
You will be able to generate the best / Fastest route
You will be able to blacklist nodes,
It will auto set the mailbox,

all using a nice easy to use GUI 2D Map ( form ) instead of messy XML code.

etc.
 
so just park my char in a zone and click on herb and mining and it will just gather like mad and without waypoints it wont look so botty mmm sounds extremely interesting - i wish i had the brains to help, would love to try the beta

I am very interested in the technical side of this project. I was toying with such an idea to optimize my harvesting, but couldn't come up with a decent method of optimal node finding. What method do you use for choosing the next node? Do you overwrite Flyer with your own flavor of flight pathing? Just a few questions to start :-P.

im going to be using TSP along with "clusters" to make my routes.

have a read of traveling salesmen problem or whatever it is.

dude swiney you are awesome and this looks very promising. Kepp up the good work and I will happily test this thing for you and try to give some input where I can. ( very limited in the ability to read code)
 
Am impressed, gratz to ya. I cannot help much with node db as my toons don't stretch their legs farther than the main botting areas so I'd not be of much use. But I'm eagerly awaiting a beta to look at and play with :). OK noob question, couldn't help myself. How do you extract the map information to present a 2D representation? Or am I overthinking it? Image files and coordinate calculation perhaps ?

Just a little status report and to answer some questions,

( yes i know its got some random nodes in it, once the DB has been fully completed we will be going threw and purging the ones that shouldnt be there )
