I've been banned twice on my previous main account in less than a week. First time for abuse of the economy, then later for using 3rd party software.

On my first WoW-account however - nothing. That's why it's now my main account =)

Some player found me while I was arching,I kept going into the same wall, and the bot could not go up from it. I think he reported me but it has been 2-3 weeks and no problems yet so....we will see.

Honestly, I get banned for my mouth more than botting. I've lost 3 accounts over the last 5 years, 1 for botting, 2 for saying what I thought about someone...

I honestly couldn't give two $hits about being banned either way - just make sure you "mix it up" every now and then. If you arch. one night, quest the next, or IB, or grind. Either way just dont make a pattern.

G'luck!

I think its gold selling..

iv botted:
1-85 druid
1-85 mage
1-85 Warlock
1-60 Paladin (in progress)
never sold once piece of gold..

Never banned, never Suspended, have been using many diferent bots =)

Im on EU servers btw..

I've been mixing it up pretty well, and so far no bans (even if ringolog failed to log me out a couple times and ended up letting me arch all night <.< 3 levels I didnt mean to get lol). Some nights I arch, others I farm, and some quest. Not even on the same character either, and since I mostly bot overnight I dont do PvP or IB since the ques are forever and I'd rather be able to monitor the bot for when those small BGs pop (or IB since you really shouldnt afk that).

AFKing is a bad idea if you dont have any monitoring, unless you're like me and just solo while really afk. Good CC and believable human actions help if you notice more people are in the area and nearby that could spot you for the bot. Still I prefer to mix things up so I'm never really doing the same thing all the time. I've had a few scares where I afk'd and came back a few hours later to the bot doing a rather stupid thing of wall humping and I had no idea how long it was up to that, but it was late at night in an unpopulated area so nothing came of it. GMs are not watching everyone. They cant. They use their detection methods so most likely its reports from other players.

As for the PvP thing I noticed ranged classes look better, and healers. Melee are a little too good at facing their opponents and tend to do the perfect circle thing, while ranged will get more stand and shoot action, and of course healers keeping people alive and being generally useful for a bot. Trust me I let me paladin go all day in PvP with holy and the squire addon to keep him nearby people and when I was monitoring him he was getting top heals easily. Nobody reports that kind of use as a bot. 0 damage/0 heals is mass reported. Obvious follow bot is obvious (squire/simplefollow doesnt target and keeps a distance and will let your CC attack).

i sold gold 2 times so just luck i think and it was a small amount of gold between 10-20k gold so but i think its Grinding and Goldselling

back in TBC i sold VERY much gold. sold gold 3 times a day. never got banned for that.
2 times banned both with pvp botting. problem is if the bot bug suddenly a player will report you. blizzard dont see we bot like old times. today its all player reports. (my opinion) so bot where almost no people is if you cant take the bigger risk.
But remember if you are afraid, you should'nt be botting. botting is on our own account, and is not legal. anyway i still use the pvp part, since it gives the best gear vs lvl 60 and 70 to quest after. it raises your xp/h.
Just remember if you sell gold. dont mail it, do some trades, where you get something for it. Thats how i did it.

you missed the most obvious one.

Player reports.

90 % of bans in any way are player reports.

Blizzard is only investigating what they got send, they dont look for you.

A paying customer is a paying one, im deffo not convinced in any way blizzard is fighting us.

Do gold transfers by guild bank, make a lil guild and deposit gold there, no one will find out!

In the last month alone, I've been banned 3-4 times on my main, and twice on my alt account lol

(Main even got closure status, restored now though)

My Alt account just got closure status today. How did you get it restored?

Being lucky? lol, I was just persistent and denied everything, I put few tickets in, when they keep saying no, I emailed them, I only sent one email and they changed their minds...

Idk, I really just think it was based on luck that time haha

First off, this poll is uncorrect... Either you should have taken out the "emails" reasons or the "activity" reasons. Having both in there doesnt make sense.

Also I dont see how PVP bot is risky.. it seems the most unrisky IMO, but then again I have never been banned yet..

Noooooooo! I was just temp banned. I was grinding 77-80 in sholozar and BAM!

did 1-85 with my hunter, and lock. (grinding)
and 58-85 with my warrior (grinding/bg)
my druid is level 78 atm, but ive grinded since like, level 1 on that aswell :P

- No bans
- No Suspensions
- No nothing xD!

Grinded along 20 chars.
Quested about 10.

7-8 i have extensively used to gather honor. (for pvp gear)

Never sold gold. Nor ever sold account, though given away one.

3 farming accounts which serves me one purpose gathering mats. Which i process on one of my "main" chars (which also btw are botted 100%)

I think its much more likely that a player gets reported then gets investigated, thus gets hammered.

these polls should be taken down. HB is already being sued.. what a better way to give blizz better details on how you bot....
