These addons are probably the most annoying addons in world of warcraft. I mean cmon, spam inviting people for guilds? seriously...

can you write a guide on how to use the plugin? i have it in my plugin folder.. i have it enabled as well.. however.. i go in game and do /sgi options set the addon up as i want it.. and still i get the /who list constantly on my screen.. and its not inviting people.. am i doing something wrong? thought this makes it all silent in the background and auto invites..

The /who addon is usually displayed when another addon is clashing with SGI such as WoW Instant Messenger.

Did you download the modified SGI from the home page?

yea i did that one but now that i think of it.. i already had sgi installed from curse.. should i uninstall? and does the plugin give me settings or no i re-set up via sgi addon;

edit: deleted sgi, restarted steps. its auto inviting but the /who is still showing is this normal? would really like it to now show.. but not a huge deal.

if the who window is showing, then it's a other addon that is interfering with SGI's code, I have no idea what addons you have installed but one of em is interfering with the /who stealth code :)

Thanks to Sidalol being so kind to let me use his HB I thought I would work on the code some more :)
After several hours banging my head against the keyboard not figuring out why it won't fu**ing work like I want I finaly figured it out :)

*Hide System Messages is working
*Hide Outgoing Whispers is working

Both of em are working together now finaly :)

So now you can run this in total silent mode more or less.
If you have *Mute SGI, *Hide system messages and *Hide outgoing whispers all active you basicly will get no spam what so ever from the addon/plugin.

Yes it is working but you basicly won't notice unless someone is afk or someone is joining the guild and you have guild greet active.

Enjoy

It's doable, but it will require ALOT of filtering code.
The more I think about it the less I think it would be that fun to code.
You have to trigger on so many words, unless you make a whisper like, "would you like to join my guild, if so, just whisper 'invite' to me", then it would be easier, but then, if someone whispers, you : "no, I don't want a invite' it would still trigger on invite so meh...

It would probably be best done via the plugin rather than the addon. There would have to be a keyword...you couldn't just try to work out what the person has said every time. The user would also have to take responsibility in ensuring that the keyword was used based on their whisper like you said above. The options could be in the addon like "auto-invite on keyword" and a field to enter one, and the actual implementation done in the plugin.

If you get those options into the addon, I'll get the plugin functionality added as soon as I have time.

Its still inviting people on whisper only mode.

Does anyone know why or is it a bug?

Today my account has been banned, he just stood around and used PimpMyGuild + SuperGuildInvite

Someone same experiences?

Where is the link for the 4.0 version? Cause the 3.0 Version here doesn't work. with the latest HB and WoW =)

Please update it like in your text. there u wrote about a 4.0 version.

hey i figured it out it was an addon so i fixed it.. just want to say thanks for this.. believe it or not.. i see people in here bitching that they hate how these plugins and addons work.. believe it or not.. i get so many people saying thanks for the guild invite.. and they ask questions etc about the guild and i answer.. i can see it being annoying getting an invite.. you think about it.. and ask a q about it and the dbag ignores you certainly.. although my invite message is very personable.. majority of the people that accept strike up convos with me.. ive met some decent folks as well.. guild leveling much faster too. just wanted to say thanks.. because of you my guild is expanding and theres plenty of folks to play with.

From what I noticed the amount and level of the reports can vary depending on the level of your guild. When my guild was like level 10 I would have a way higher number of people rage at me, almost as if they take it as an insult to join such a low level guild. Now my guild is 23 with around 300 members, it has gone up almost 4 levels in less than a week and should hit 25 this friday. But when I invite people now, most people just join, very few whispers back.

How safe is this using no whisper or anything? Can they tell who sent the invite in the guild just from the invite?

They can indeed see who invited by looking at the guild log. Most people don't do it, and even if they do they just assume you're using an addon. It's not enough to make them suspect you're using a bot.

Shortly after I learned they can see it, never paid attention to the name in brackets before. Thanks for the reply, Sidalol and letting me know. I read entire OP, installed plugin, installed SGI and configured.

I hit SuperScan and let it run all the way. Is the plugin supposed to click all the names and send invites automatically? Sorry, for the noob question.

The version you have seems to be out of date, the top left checkbox actually says "Enable Addon" now unless Akna has changed it for some reason. Either way, that top checkbox has to be enabled for the plugin to work. The plugin should do everything for you once you start the bot. You shouldn't have to touch the addon at all once it's set up.
