I would like to thank Dev for the break , I actually saw daylight the day after HB went down, i did scare a few kids in the street with my rip van winkle meets the mad proffessor hair and grey zombie like skin but at least i got some fresh air and remembered what it was like outside .

If you want a checklist, here you go:


  1. Update & reverse all the things left to do
  2. Fix all the broken API references
  3. Refactor classes & namespaces to where they are more appropriate.
  4. Double-check all of WoW wrapper API to ensure it's not returning false values (and by all, I mean all 3000+ properties, 1500+ methods, and the other 350 or so structures). This includes getting a character to specific "test" points in the game to ensure these values, and some other "hope we can get a test scenario" in other areas (eg; PVP)
  5. Ensure the default things provided with HB aren't completely useless and broken.
  6. Test everything.
  7. ... clean up threads from people who can't figure out a calendar.


That's just a generalized checklist for the public. I won't be posting my personal checklist, as well... I can't actually fit it all in one (or two) posts.

Also; to give you a better analogy, we're like your typical tiny software company who relies on 3rd party software to operate, between 5 different games, with only 5 developers (4 of which are busy with other things, or on vacation). Oh wait... that's not typical at all...

I realize some of you "want it now", and so do we. But unfortunately, this stuff takes time. I wish I could wave a magic wand and have it done a few days ago (I'd have more hair right now), but it's just not that simple.

Patience is a virtue folks. The test release will make a lot of developers happy, and should hopefully make a lot of users happy. (Developers will hate us for a week or so while they figure out the API changes, but they'll soon realize it's much more concise and cleaner)

Lastly, if you guys can't keep discussion civil, I'll start handing out suspensions. There's no room for you guys to beat eachother up on our boards, take it elsewhere, or don't post at all. Thanks!

Wow so the developers are gonna have it a week before a test version drops? Maybe I am taking that the wrong way.

You are taking it the wrong way. ;)

The version will be public, it just won't be at the standard it should be with less features and stuff.
 
will gb work fine when the job from Dev. is done ?
Dont rly need a cc for that ...
Hope it works, need 2 stack up bank and chars with mats 4 MoP :D

They'll prolly call tomorrow a week since EU is a day behind US but with 1 man working on it I wouldn't expect it then either, maybe Friday but this is what happens when they give eta's ... lol

this sounds for me, as if the regular users would have to wait quile a while, and devs, cc writers get a limited copy first.

second qoute is about 3 hours old, and maybe the newest update

Nah i mean dont rly need cc bcse hazedruide will give a update with the launch from hb...
so thats why i mean that i dont rly need a cc :)

so when some1 knows it that gb works or not can post it.. rest is not important 4 me

I mean everybody gets this version, if anyone else can make use out of it or what it can do, i cant tell, but that was my intent with the post.
 
i dont know limited release sounds... limited. not for all ;)
but maybe i am wrong, and limited means limited in functions. not limited in recievers

That is if his CC has the new code for the new API, the API isn't even done yet so no CC's are coded for it yet...

Sure, but I dont think this would work out.

Who is a dev? The one who has a active Thread here? How should it work to limit it to those people?

I know it can/would work, but is isnt worth the effort in the slightest way.

Like one of the devs said earlier, it will have big letters in the release Thread and thats it. Anything else wouldnt make sense to me.

the part with big letters didn`t come from devs. it came from me :). as i asked to make the first little bit stable version public, even there are many bugs, at least profile wirters could do some work using build in devtools
