[Official] Demonbuddy Bans December 18 and Refunds

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi, I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question, but I purchased DBuddy and after a few days I was banned. I requested a refund on the 16th but still have not heard back from anyone. Is it just a lot of backed up emails? I don't know who to ask for an answer, and since I saw this post I figured I'd ask. Any response would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would have to say it was software detection. I had my account banned on the 18 and the funny thing was I did not run my bot for three weeks. So I would have to say it was software detection.
Id have to disagree, coming upto the ban wave i didnt bot for 3weeks as i was moving house previous to that i botted 16 hours on 3 accounts at the same time same ip address.

People got unlucky simple as that!

well i used db 4 months or so...can't be detectable. theres any chance that plugins can do "mistakes" and get flagged cuz of them?

hello, i sent you guys an email for refunding a key on 19.12.2012 wed 00:14 ( the key was bought 2-3 hours earlier ). It passed more then 100 hours since i mailed you, and i didnt receive a response from you guys, not another 7 day extend mail nor a refund mail... so should i wait more, how can i be sure my mail arrived at you guys, and i am somewhere in queue?

please let me know when can i receive my refund, already sent 2 email for refund but no response yet, bought my key on 12/12/12 but get banned on 18/12/12.

What email to write to, to ask for refund?
i got banned some accs :/

I have a great question, how was it not software detection? My 97 I have not botted after those 2 12mb patches was not banned?

The vast majority of our users seem to have not been banned so we are ruling out software detection.

That is an extremely arrogant statement if I ever read one :( Just waving your dick in the face of people who got banned when the devs clearly knew there was something going on at Blizzard. I don't care for the account I lost, I knew it would eventually happen, but you are clearly just pissing off your customer base with words like that thinking you are perfect.

humility, look it up in the dictionary.

Well, all my accounts have been banned, I would like a refund.

i got banned too and i didnt botted for some days, and i used to bot around 3-4h so not much bottable suspicious...

you are wrong,sorry

Well this is my first post on the issue. I bought DB on Dec7th and started botting using only Giles Trinity CE and the Key Hunting plugin for about 8 hours a day, sometimes skipping days and I got banned on my one account. It has to be something in one of these things that they caught. I didn't sell any RMAH goods or gold. I sold very little on the GAH.

Demonbuddy is now as safe as we can make it.

That is a very bold and irrational statement. No software is ever as safe as you can make it.

- Game joins still do not select the quest / act from the UI, but rather join directly. If the devs theorize that having the inventory window open when identifying is detectable by Blizzard, then why the fuck do you not also resolve this issue.

- Being able to create a game on a quest you have not yet unlocked is a flaw.

- Pickup rules are unsafe. Blizzard can detect if someone doesn't ever pick up an ilvl 58 amulet, considering you have no clue what ilvl it is when its sitting on the ground.

This list could go on forever if the devs are really going to be so arrogant to state "Demonbuddy is now as safe as we can make it."

We do not know how many accounts were banned on December 18th. Blizzard says 1000s and that seems correct to us. The vast majority of our users seem to have not been banned so we are ruling out software detection. Demonbuddy was selling very well over the last two months and our best guess is that Blizzard targeted certain patterns of behaviour and were happy if it got a lot of botters and a few innocent users as well. We can only guess what that pattern of behaviour they targeted was. Something similiar happened in July and we lost a lot of accounts - profile randomisation fixed it then.

Our latest release has small changes that randomise aspects of vendoring and that make it easier for us to do traffic monitoring. Demonbuddy is now as safe as we can make it.

Our advice to users is that botting over 8 hours per account per day increases the odds of ban dramatically. Running the same profile all the time also increases your risk. There is real money to be made in Diablo 3 with the real money auction house - Blizzard has just increased the cost of your accessing it.

We have a lot of refund requests. As you know, we offer a 7 day change of mind period with Demonbuddy. Rest assured that we do have the funds to honour them all. However we also have lots of PMs and emails from people changing their mind about refunds and frankly its a lot of admin to sort them out. What we plan to do is email everyone who asked a refund offering to add another 7 days to their change of mind period. If you want a refund immediately thats fine. If you want to try it a week and then decide that's fine too. If you have already requested a refund and are surprised to be getting an email offering you an extra 7 days change of mind period, my apologies but its the only way we can manage it.

People who bought 1 day keys will be emailed special 3 day keys to make up for the inconvenience.

Happy botting - be careful out there.

How can I get my money back. I brought 6 year keys on 12/12/12. All my 6 accounts banned in one week. Please let me know how to refund.

So, blizzard doesn't have the ability to monitor behavior past 3 weeks?
