"Most of my botting accounts got nailed by the warning this morning.
Basically you can still log in but the game wont detect pokestops or pokemon and they catch you that way."


1. All phone users were forced to update more a than week ago.
2. All working bots are still using the outdated API.
3. Once Niantic detected that you are playing using the old API, they also knew that you are botting.
4. That is why PF is still down, they don't want to use the old API and get us banned, or flagged, and still *****ing the new API
5. If you can't detect pokestop or catch pokemon, that is just a soft ban, it is an IP ban. Unlike other soft ban, IP ban affects all of your account or any account using the same IP. You should be able to play again after minutes, or hours, depending on how many times you got soft banned, and with the cheating warning. (captcha if that is your first time)
6. Continuous softban may lead you to perma-ban

Before, Niantic doesn't tell us if your account is flagged or not, they just ban your account after repeated offense. We think that we got banned because of what we did last night, but the account could have been banned months ago because of your sniping/teleporting. Remember when you thought that No one was getting banned no matter what you do? Yeah, that was the time. The warning is to let you know (in my opinion) for them to let us know that the account has been flagged and they know that we are cheating. It may not mean that you will get banned right away. Who got banned right away the first time that you teleported? You are flagged right then, but they didn't let us know, but now you know. But that's only my opinion

I might have pulled the trigger too early. Most of the bots that I am experimenting with were able to log in and continue to do what it is supposed to do.

I can tell you though that I have been getting soft bans left and right, so these experimental accounts are probably flagged for banning hundreds of times already.

I think your bots hitting the captcha and is repoting a ban because it doesn't know what to do. Log on to your phone solve the captcha and the bot will continue on it's Mary way I'm sure.

Has anyone else actually encountered this captcha? In my experiment, only the flagged accounts encountered this, those that are not botted did not.

if Captcha is only on the client side, like the warning, and level up prompt, and evolve prompt, and transfer prompt (which all require human interaction) then it should not stop a well written bot. Otherwise, bot will stop every time that you level up, or hatched an egg, or evolve/transfer a pokemon. etc...

Who said I am complaining? You are trying to put words in my mouth. Regardless of circumstances, everyone is still entitled to his own opinion, and so do you. When someone expressed his opinion and you categorized it as a form of complaint, then you may need to reevaluate your internal dictionary.

I posted a lot of comments regarding the captcha and ban warnings, and you decided to focus on this one. Seriously?? What's next, my spelling and grammar?

If you didn't touch your account botted with PF after it went down, then you don't need to worry about it. PF was using the current API at that time, and unlike other bots, it shutdown after the update. It is only when you use other bots which use outdated API that your account will be affected.

I don't know if their practice is unethical, but I know for sure they are SOBs. They could have locked out all 3rd Party Applications. But instead they left the door open inviting cheaters to continue using their bots to later mark their accounts and try to intimidate tjem with that nasty message. I don't find that funny at all.

My theory is that every time you use the bot it will trigger the captcha. And I assume that every time you trigger a captcha it will move you closer to the permanent ban. e.g. The first time the captcha is triggered it enables the message. May be the second time it gives you say a 24hr soft ban, then the third time gives you aneed ultimatum you account is about to be perma banned. As long as the old API is being emulated in the bot, they know it's a 3rd Party App being
used. But like I said, I want to wait and see how many days the nasty message will continue appearing on my thro away account

Sorry to hear that Mew. Captcha is only triggered when the game detected that you are using or used bot after its implementation. None of my accounts have to go through it. Only those unverified accounts that I used for the purpose of intentionally getting flagged or banned. All newly created accounts should not go through the captcha unless you start botting those. You can try it for yourself right now, just like what I did before I posted this. Your newly created account will not have this.

If all your account has to go through it, then it means the system detected that you botted them all. Those that get the nasty warning message are the repeat offenders.

I was able to use the bot that I was testing with, with no problems. Logging in and out of the phone app and botting until minutes before the captcha implementation. The first reports I noticed with accounts receiving captcha prompts came from a well known scanner website. That's how I know more or less when the captcha was turned on. I stopped botting with my test account almost immediately when their website failed. Then I was able to catch pokemons normally. Knowing that other accounts were getting the captcha prompt after using this bot I was testing with, I decided to bot again. THe first time I logged in it worked fine. It caught two or three pokemons, the second time I logged in, it caught another 3 pokemon. The third time I logged I programmed it to pick up some pokestops. The fourth time I logged in, it caught one more pokemon, then it was not able to scan for any pokemons or pokestops. That's how I know the account had been locked out. When I went to my phone and logged in I saw the captcha prompt, I solved it manually then the nasty message came up. I haven't botted ever since. THis is day 2 since that account was caught cheating and the message still appears every time I log in.

My level 36 that I leveled up entirely using PF is perfectly fine. No CAPTCHA, no warnings, no nothing. I went from 1-36 and it's like 50k exp from 37 now entirely off of PF. When PF went down I started using it regularly on my phone, doing the exact same things I did on PF and got around 100k exp a day (there's a lot of Pokestops near me) and I haven't had a problem. Plowed through level 36 and I'm still here using the account on my phone every day. I'd even use it on PF and my phone at the same time to use lucky eggs, take gyms, and evolve things while PF caught Pokemon at the lured pokestops.

I dunno what I did right or wrong but my account seems to have survived. I even evolved like 300 Pokemon in a row on a lucky egg using PF's like, four second evolution delay and that was fine too. I'm honestly not sure what will get you caught aside from using the old API because for some reason that massive exp gain didn't get me caught and I was pretty sure it would. It was like a month ago at this point.

Apparently Niantic finally shut down the old API. Now, nobody can sell rotten expired cakes any more. This proves my point about Niantic's cruel and nasty plan to catch users of 3rd party applications and instead of banning accounts, this time they marked the accounts with that ugly message. I hope a new update comes soon.

It's no real concern my main account is fine, I simply create new accounts and watch them level up for fun nothing more than that, just to see what pokemons get caught, and what nests are around London. I have 6 level 31 accounts, and 5 of them have no issues at all, the 6th i took the mickey with botting 20 hours a day, monday to thursday and 24 hours a day friday to sunday, so no real complaints the 6th one got picked up. I did have a level 12 account and that one has no warning despite being used the same way as the others so possibly Niantic are targeting higher accounts.

Off topic slightly, but I'm actually enjoying this cat and mouse game with Niantic. Seeing what accounts get marked and banned is actually far more fun than the game itself. I had a hell of a shock seeing that big eye on the Magnemite when logging in on my botting accounts was great fun.
