More ban with questing profiles ?

I used HB to farm Frostwolf rep for about 3 days off and on. I never used it for bg's (I don't pvp much anyway), and I don't bot my garrsion. The only thing I use is YourRaidingBuddy CR, and I thought I was online for the tripwire event (that's a raid night for me), but my bot never tripped, my client never closed. I guess I logged on either before or after the event. No emails here. I also manually move my character when raiding, not the bot. My guild does not tolerate botters, so I have said nada to anyone (wouldn't anyway).

Funny note, I tried to raid manually tonight, and I didn't do as great as I'd been doing, but my GM thought nothing of it, because the team already knew I was tired from earlier events of the day, so I guess I'm either super lucky, or I just don't "look or act" like a botter by Blizz standards.

It helps that I speak on Vent, and not type while my CR is doing it's thing. My combat/rotation is quite literally the ONLY thing the bot does for me.

Don't flame me for my opinion, but I think botting the garrison is just begging to be banned. I have 11 alts max-level, and it only takes me roughly 30 minutes to hop on all of them, do the missions & check my profession buildings. If I mine/herb that day, it takes only slightly longer. It's worth it for me to spend that time doing it manually to lessen the chances of a ban.

This sounds like a technique used in port forwarding I thought, couldn't the tripwire just have been a packet to confirm then DC upon detection of Honorbuddy? Therefore setting a precedent to autoflag and ban ppl every so often whenever they decide to ping/packet it.

If you're using port forwarding they can't directly send any unsolicited packets to your machine unless you've port forwarded the ports they would send these things to.

However they don't need to do this, they have software (the game) and the Battle.net client that runs on your machine and can be sending info to Blizzard and/or storing information on your PC to areas that the game has legitimate access to (including their registry keys)


I wonder though if Blizzard is able to see if you are running the 64-bit or 32-bit client. If so they can easily narrow down who *might* be botting this way and then drill down further. I really wish HB would be updated for 64-bit.

I can guarantee you they can tell if you're 32 or 64-bit. It says so inside the game client when you log in, so it's also saved in some log somewhere along with other account information.

I don't think the Tripwire was the reason for the ban wave. I was multiboxing (3 legitimate paid accounts) during the event and only 1 of those accounts was banned. I would think that if it was the Tripwire, they would have caught all three.

I think the most vulnerable part is questing. If you have a routine that sends you to certain consecutive spots on the map, and there are multiple people going to those exact same co-ordinates, it's suspicious because naturally people don't do that, even if they're on follow. And I think that's probably the easiest thing to check for. Not hard to program a computer to look for patterns.

I've never used a garrison bot, but when I check all my 100-level alts, I do a pattern by hand, pretty much always the same circuit of my buildings to pick up resources, complete missions, go to bank, etc. So I don't think it's exclusively a garrybot that created concern.

The speed with which we do things with the bot may be a giveaway in CRs, but there are macros that cut casting time down considerably as well.

As for the people who noted the Buddy team deleting threads that talk about banning -- we may have inadvertently said some things that they wouldn't want a Blizzard spy get ideas from. Anyway that's my conspiracy theory of the day.

I wonder if the people getting banned for the CRs are getting reported for the insta-interrupts. People are getting pretty wise to that, especially in pvp.

I turn off all the interrupts and do them manually.

I only do Garrison and CR+Enyo on my main account. I have my CRs (Millz and TuanHA premiums) to interrupt randomly between 0.1 and 0.9 secs left on enemy casts.

Yes, pretty much that's exactly what that is. Bossland is a business and they'll protect it of course, so if blizzard found a way to detect HB Bossland will probably try to "hide" (with deleting threads and such) as long as possible until they have found a solution or they can't hide it anymore because of a big banwave for example. I still have every site of the deleted thread open so I could take screenshots to show that the thread existed and what was written in it. But since it's their forum it's their right to delete posts/threads, nothing you can do.

But yes, I also think there's something going on, especially with the upcoming token. US was hit, EU will be hit probably soon. The thing is, I personally know that there will be something going on (blizzard is able to detect HB for example) if my main account gets banned tomorrow or whenever EU will be hit. I only started leveling on him yesterday and only for 3 levels in the middle of the night so nobody could even report me since there was nobody around + my IP is not flagged or anything since it's my only account where I started botting now. So if my main account will be hit if EU gets something like US currently, I am most definitely sure that HB is now detectable by Blizzard (at least currently until bossland finds a solution) because that would be the only explanation why my account could be banned. But I don't want to accuse bossland of something before it actually happened, that's why I still speak in conjunctive.P

Its funny you act as if your paying a sub fee for your bot, you paid a one time fee for less than a tank of gas.

Everyone should know the risks of botting, if you bot expect to be banned as some point of your botting career regardless if your cheat is labeled as "Undetectable".

and once again everyone shooting off "Theories" of whats happening need to understand this, there are to many variables that can cause a player to be banned. reports, recordings, and yes detection. but you are not privey to that information and never will you be unless you work for bossland or blizard.

Do yourself a favor and bot on, and when you get banned dont blame anyone, because thats the nature of the beast, you will be caught eventually. So stop filling yourself with a false sense of security i will bot till im banned and then i will probably start over and do it all again

I would gladly pay a subfee for more security and faster reaction Time, better quest stuff, randomized pathing, no wall running. I'd spring 30 or 40 dollars a month for that.
